Afterwards, we drove straight south along the creek that flows by the temple. We must have driven 15-20 miles through a creek/park that connects the crapitol to the temple. It goes past the DC Zoo and many other great little places. By avoiding the belt route, apparently we avoided the seven hills that surround the city.
Makes me wonder about the true identity of the nation spoken of in Revelations. People are always so quick to peg Rome. While that could be the case, NYC is also on my list and now DC. Who knew this nation would end up being so corrupt as to even come close to making the list.

ReplyDeleteNew York came to mind. I don't know about the seven hills, but the great whore of the earth, Babylon, makes sense. It is where the United Nations are. It is where the world financial institutions sit. It pretty much is the hub of world-wide activity. Rome, and the catholic church with all of it's current abuses and horrible atrocities it performed during the dark ages makes a great candidate too.

DeleteRevelation 13 is a description of Roman man, not just the city of Rome. Roman man grew out of the Mediterranean Sea to become an empire. Roman man received a head wound in 390 BC by Gauls, yet lived. His 7 hills had pagan temples blaspheming YHVH. He was conquered on one of his heads; "the 7 heads are 7 mountains," Capitoline hill. He scattered the holy people in Judea for 42 months, or 1260 days, time, times and half a time, 3.5 days and slaughtered 1.1 million people within the city walls of Jerusalem. Their bodies lie in the streets of Jerusalem for the time, times and half a time while the Romans finished subduing Judea. The Roman power moved to Constantinople and exercised all the power of the first beast. Christianity came from this beast, and the Orthodox call down holy fire from heaven every Easter in a Cathedral built by Constantine in Jerusalem. The western religion is described as marking the forehead from the right hand, and resides in the city of 7 hills, the city that received a head wound and lived. It was the Holy Roman Empire that killed those who did not take the mark of the beast and pledged their loyalty to western Christianity and the Pope. So where did Roman mans power, seat and great authority go? Revelation is about the Day of the a Lord, and He is raising up an army to destroy Roman man. If the first seal is Genghis Khan crowned, and his horseman went forth to conquer Asia, and the second seal is communism, and the third seal is the global economy, then the fourth seal is the Asians having power to kill a fourth part of the earth. Notice in Joel 2, the earth quakes before them. Earthquake in Revelation is the earth quaking before the Asians. Earth is specifically the western nations. Washington is where Roman mans great power, seat and great authority went. The west will fall in one hour, and out of the smoke come down locusts upon the earth. The locusts are the shape of, the likeness of those in the first seal. The horses prepared for battle were the Mongols who conquered Beijing, Korea and Ancient Rus. The wore braded hair like woman, wore golden colored animal skin hats, and stung to the rear like the scorpion. The scorpion was the Roman crossbow and stung with arrows. The Mongols would ride up the enemy, turn away, turn in their saddles and sting to the rear with arrows. John was describing the Mongols and verifying the first seal. They locusts look like the Mongolians from the past, and are many. Locusts means many, and the Asian army that will conquer Europe will be two hundred million. The are called the kings of the east. Roman man conquered Jerusalem and scattered the power of the holy people; therefore, "he who takes into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword."
