THE PRINCIPLE WIFE - A PSA

Public Service Announcement from Arnold Page:

My cousin has worked for years between his other jobs with another collaborator on a musical called The Principal wife playing at the Covey Center until July 31st.

https://theprinciplewife.com/home-1

I wish I had mentioned this before, but this is about a married man who takes on, eventually two other wives and the dynamic complexity that has some comedy to it as well. The music is good. This is the premier showing and it takes quite a bit of money to run it for the time. I hope it can continue on. I think cous plans on taking it to other locations.

I would be interested to see this play.  It is complex, this marriage thing.  Many struggle with it; just the basics of it (thus the high divorce rate, which is tied to our ability to live the Gospel and cherish chastity before and after marriage, as well as with our spouse and before a marriage partner hoves into view).  And sometimes there is greater struggle in the more complex and challenging role of caretaker where there are physical or emotional or mental injuries that need to be overcome.

My youngest daughter commented the other day after mediating a spat between my wife and I, that given what she has seen (the worst of our relationship), she wonders that she would ever choose marriage if it were not a commandment.  That was a fair thing to say.  I would agree with her - but I pointed out what I always point out to the polygamy/Brigham haters out there; that this life is not supposed to be a conflict or trouble-free existence and is exactly the purpose of marriage/plural marriage and life in general.  To challenge the very best of us with extremely challenging challenges.

Absolutely guaranteed that AFTER you have passed through seventy years of life with another person, that you will know EXACTLY what you are made of.  Try it as a man with one wife and you have your work cut out for you (man and woman).  Try it as a man with more than one wife, or as a woman who has to share responsibilities of rearing children, daily house chores, etc with another woman and you will be a perfected being when it is all over.  Or you will be a murderous being....lol.

If we just sat around and strummed a harp all day and floated on a cloud with no effort expended and no challenges to overcome, our mortal probation would be a wasted one.  This life is the Great Sieve of Heaven just as the Pre-mortal realm was the great sieve of who would qualify for a body and advancement to this portion of the test.

I do not favor the polygamy thing out of a need for more sex or more complications in my life.  I am at full pool in those departments - but I favor it because the coolest people I am aware of (Jesus, Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, etc) all were partakers.  If they were, and they passed on to become Gods or are higher ranking in the human family because of this common factor, then I have to have a healthy curiosity for their modes of success.  I believe that this was one of them.  Probably the greatest factor.

I powered out of Engineering school with a four year degree.  Going to advanced Phd level stuff was just not for me.  I am not ashamed of it.  I did okay with what God endowed me with and for what I had strived for since I was in middle school and became self aware.  Some people thrive and move along with ease.  That is their lot and their heritage.  Where much is given, much is required.  I would never poo-poo their efforts or throw them or those with a Phd in Engineering under the bus, just because I was not capable of it.  How petty.  How small.  I would just confess my limitations and move on.  I know someone who is a child molester (self-confessed and at least hopefully was only into diddlin the kiddlin when he was drunk) who confesses that he knows the WoW and the rest of the Gospel Plan is inspired and of God, but he simply is too weak to participate due to Chastity and WoW issues.  I have alot more respect for him than for the person who throws the whole program out because they cannot confess their limitations and accept that they cannot rise to the occasion on one or more, or even all principles in the value set.

For those who choose to throw Brigham Young and others under the bus, or reject the notion that Jesus was married, let alone plurally - first of all, get some help for your psychological shortcomings.  Maybe some sex therapy with a qualified professional.  Rejecting the notion that Jesus could have had children in the "usual way" because that would make Him somehow less or dirty or gross just means your filter is seriously darkened and your view askew.  Seriously; get some help.  Seriously, do not wait like my mother until she got to the other side and then suddenly saw the big picture when her Victorian notions were shattered/deconstructed.  A little logic in this life would have helped her to recognize that her husband was likely going to last a decade or two more and that he would end upbeing a linear polygamist, let alone a co-linear poly boy.

It is okay to say: "I don't understand all things, so I will accept with faith and hold on until the answers come."  Is it okay to question and not swallow everything hook, line and sinker?  Sure it is!  But you will never grow in advancement of knowledge if you summarily turn a concept off.  I think the more exact term is damnation...  We damn ourselves when we reject truth.  If you feel yourself doing the opposite of being "enlarged of soul", then you probably have it wrong.  I know because I went into diminutive mode when I rejected the "safe and effective" BS (rhetoric) that was being spewed in order to render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's, while still running the kingdom and "hearing Him".  As I became critical of the Lord's anointed, my mind became darkened and I lost the Spirit.  Very simple and it is a tested pattern.

It is okay to say, "I am too weak to handle this concept now, but I will trust in a God who is good and who will bring me to an understanding in His time and in His way."

BREAD - IT DON'T MATTER TO ME

This is one of the best songs that teaches a great Millennial principle and deals with Agency:

And this follows on to the sentiment of the last post on how we treat our women in this life.  If we do not garner their affection, but diminish in our glory and dominion/power in our Priesthood, they will be given to another that can take them the distance.

I have seen too many men who are controlling/possessive of their women and who, in the extreme cases, will end up doing a murder/suicide ("if I can't have you, then no one will" mentality).  Women are designed to cleave to their men (the release of hormones during intimacy and in general) unless their men are mean-spirited and controlling which will have the exact opposite effect.  I have seen women in relationships who are just simply enduring with an abusive partner.   The noble "protect and provide" instinct run amok.  A woman needs to know that she is cherished and wanted, while knowing she has full ability to stretch herself and reach her full potential.

I have seen some women abandon their men with seeming little provocation other than they were dissatisfied with their lot (man not making enough money, not a good lover, etc).  Always seems to be around the time the child bearing years come to a close and the beauty of the woman begins to dissipate and she knows her social leverage is going to be depleted going forward.  The man sometimes can be prone to leave his woman around the time of menopause because he values fertility (if he still desires more children).  The 40's are a VERY interesting time period for both sexes.  Part of the designed test, I am sure.

And how we are tested in this life.  satan knows our weaknesses from the Pre-mortal State.  If we pass the chastity tests of this life in particular (as we learn in the temple), we will have our reward in the next life, as we will be imbued with the ability to have increase, worlds without end.  Those who abuse the procreative power and who refuse to repent, will have none of this power given to them.  If they are bankrupt in character, why would you give them more power and ability to abuse that power?  It is illogical.   It is not mean or mean-spirited.  It simply preserves an eternal order.  This is the spirit of Conservatism.  Conserve/maintain or preserve something precious for the next generation to enjoy.....

POLYGAMY IS A TEST FOR THE MEN

I have always maintained this position.  Women have the upper hand in the economy of heaven if they are righteous.

Men either step up or die…

A PLUG FOR THE "SOUND OF FREEDOM"

I just got another Brigham hater comment and thought I would comment on that.  I am not an apologist for Brigham.  I have looked at his works and still support him as the Lion of the Lord.  And, I challenge ANYONE to do what he did under the circumstances he was forced to work under and state that you likely are a big fat nothing burger in comparison.  The equivalent of me being a guy who can barely throw a decent pass twenty yards under no pressure, trash-talking the QB who can get it done in multiple SB wins and insane pressure and difficulty.  Laughable....  So, my advice is to quit wasting yer time.  Your ridiculously stupid comments will not see the light of day to infect others with your stupidity and arrogance (I don't do stupid - never have, never will) and it does not affect me.  I have made up my mind.  My advice is to just go and put your energy elsewhere into building up the "kingdom" of the Community of Christ or some other offshoot, Brigham (polygamy, Section 132) hating organ.  I have my witness and I do not throw him under the bus.  I am not that stupid.

On the movie, "The Sound of Freedom".  Just wow!  I went last night with some friends.  Everyone in their household was there.  Everyone in ours was.  I pretty much made it required life skill training for our fledging young adult who has a very rosy view of the world.  I could not help and think of one of the main characters in the story who had spent time renting out a young girl (14) and the trafficker (pimp) who relented/repented and brought my younger sister's bestie home from a previous two years of trafficking.  I think part of his motivation was that she had acquired some disease and was no longer marketable.  She has lived as an adult with no marriage prospects (what do you tell your partner during the discovery phase of the relationship?!? where you both are delving into the nitty gritty of what you are about and your past - and no, you cannot just gloss that kind of thing over and still have an honest and open relationship).  No kids.  Just a lonely life of mental illness and regret.  It is very sad - because she was such a vibrant and beautiful young lady who had gotten into a spat with her dad over her dressing like a slut (she adored Madonna - may she rot in hell for all the young women she led astray in that generation) and then Papa did Preach to her.... and she ran away and found that Love (lust) is a Battlefield, Pat Benatar-style.  In some ways, the 80's were so messed up....  A music video showing women trapped in the trafficking trap how to rebel and break free from their oppressors.

But yeah, part of what is coming is the taking of ALL of that trash to the curb and making it a thing of the past for around 1,000 years.  That is not just a gentle cleaning, that is a scrubbing down to the base layers of the dermis where no bugs and parasites can live.  This is going to be real.  The ultimate parasite that will disappear is selfishness.  Those who take advantage of others and live for and love a lie.  Those that remain will be forced to live in love and unity (not by compulsion, but by force of circumstance).  All else will be washed away and done away with.  It will be a glorious time for those who get to experience it.  Just like after welcoming your precious new life into your home.  Difficult during the delivery phase, but so sweet in the post-traumatic phase.

So, my enemy of my enemy is my friend.  wHollyweird and the cabal have tried to shut down the "Sound of Freedom".  That is why I am for it.

https://news.yahoo.com/unlikely-hit-sound-freedom-opens-012427804.html

It was shelved by Disney (paedo central) and many others who wanted it buried because it would expose their agenda.  Last night in a 100% packed theater (with showings every 1/2 hour for the whole evening, which many of the later ones were sold out of including ours), I was asking myself who was there because of LDS culture (OUR is an LDS phenom), who was there because of a good FHE experience to get their kids up to speed on how these freaks operate, and who was there because they are pissed off on what is going on around the world.  It is a $150 billion dollar a year enterprise.  One of the quotable quotes is that you can produce coke and in one hit, $20 is consumed and then you have to figure out a way to get more to the market to replace the consumed goods.  You can rent out a young girl or boy and they can produce results multiple, multiple times a day over several years.  Then you either dispose of them, or you spin them back into society for us to absorb the insane costs of drug rehab, mental health interdiction, unwanted pregnancies (welfare mommas) and so much else.  All driven by greed.

So many powerful messages in that movie.  If you have not

BROTHER BRIGHAM AND THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BUS

 Great quote!:

Great Sunday message from a descendent of Joseph Smith.

“I have had several friends reach out and ask me what I think of new information that is coming out against Brigham Young and other past leaders. In short, I just want to say, why is there a struggle of faith? Considering that institutions and organizations are run by humans, we should always acknowledge that there will be errors. But let me point out that there is one person in history who made what I feel is a monumental mistake. He denied Christ three times. But take note, Jesus didn’t throw Peter under the bus and cast him out because of that mistake. Peter repented, overcame his struggle, and the 12 came back together, and completed their missions here on earth. They overcame their mistakes and kept moving forward. They didn’t jump ship and try and find another one. Put simply, humans make mistakes, they are not perfect, but the gospel is. So stay on that gospel ship. Don’t jump ship because you have found a stain on it. One day Jesus will get on that ship, he will clean up the stain and all will be well.”

EVIL SPIRITS; A NEARLY IDENTICAL STORY TO MY MISSION EXPERIENCE

 Very affirming; a story from the days before the Word of Wisdom was generally accepted in the Church;

Evil spirits know if the elder is worthy

About eight years ago the writer and another Elder were called to visit a young woman who was tormented by an evil spirit.  For weeks all living in the same house had been kept in constant fear, for when possessed of this power, she required several persons to restrain her.  This was not the first time that Elders had been called in to rebuke the evil spirit.  In some cases it had defied them and tauntingly advised them to go and throw away their tobacco, or in some other way prepare themselves to use their authority.  In other cases it had Instantly departed when rebuked, but returned again after a time to take up its former abode. For several days after each attack the afflicted one was laid prostrate on a bed of sickness.

Before reaching the house we decided that we would find out if possible from the spirit itself why it continued to trouble the unfortunate soul.  The room was filled with sympathizing friends, some of whom were seeking to quiet the person tormented.  The writer will never forget the look that met him as he entered the room; the eyes of the one possessed were like coals of fire and directed straight at him.

Going up to the bedside the writer said: "What are you doing here?"

The words came back in an unnatural, defiant tone, "What are you doing here?"

"I came on my Master's business."

"So did I come on my master's business."

"Who is your master?' the writer enquired.

Again the impudent words were thrown back, "Who is your master?"

"Jesus of Nazareth."  As these words were pronounced, the form rolled violently over to the other side of the bed, but as the conversation continued it came back again.

"What is your name?"

"I don't have to tell you my name. What is your name?"

"Joseph Eckersley, and I am an Elder in Israel.  Do you know me?”  Again the frightened expression appeared and the form rolled away.

"When did you come here?" the writer asked.

"When no big man was around."

"And who sent you?"

"That great big, big man sent me."

"How long are you going to stay?"

No one who heard the answer will ever forget the malicious tone as the spirit dragged out the words, "Just as long, as long, as long as I can."

The writer replied, "Thank the Lord, that is not very long."  Turning to the people in the room, he said that if any were lacking in faith, they had better withdraw.  All stayed.  We then anointed her with oil and in the name of Jesus Christ and by the authority of the holy priesthood we rebuked the power of Satan, commanding the evil spirit to depart and not to return. Instantly the sufferer was relieved, her face resumed its natural expression, and in a gentle voice our sister said to us, "How grand!"  From that time on she was never troubled by the powers of darkness.

Such have been some of the manifestations of the power of the Lord that have come under the writer's own observation. Thousands of the Latter-day Saints have beheld similar things.
