Monsanto and glyphosate - these folks are evil:

Monsanto will not serve GMO food in their own cafeterias.....

Here is another article that will fry the average person with a conscience:

We are living under the rule of tyrants, if it is not obvious:

” Having seen the people of all other nations bowed down to the earth under the wars and prodigalities of their rulers, I have cherished their opposites, peace, economy, and riddance of public debt, believing that these were the high road to public as well as private prosperity and happiness.”
Thomas Jefferson

This is a gem.  Interesting on the timing - as it was right after WWII and there was probably still an apocalyptic sense in the air after the true horrors of that war and the depth of human depravity was revealed to the rest of mankind.

Much greater sorrow will yet come for us to pass thru in the coming years.  Right now, I am down in San Diego (ground zero in a Russian nuclear attack) and think of all of the difficulty that many will pass thru when that event occurs.  It will be a sad time:

"Thus, clearly, the Lord has placed the responsibility for directing the work of gathering in the hands of the leaders of the Church to whom he will reveal his will where and when such gatherings would take place in the future. It would be well--before the frightening events concerning the fulfillment of all God's promises and predictions are upon us, that the Saints in every land prepare themselves and look forward to the instruction that shall come to them from the First Presidency of this Church as to where they shall be gathered and not be disturbed in their feelings until such instruction is given to them as it is revealed by the Lord to the proper authority.”

Sounds like these guys fled when they saw the dust clouds on the horizon in Lehi's day:

Lost Jewish tribe 'found in Zimbabwe'
By Steve Vickers
BBC News, Harare

The Lemba people are easy to distinguish from most other Zimbabweans - they wear skull caps, pray in a language which is a mixture of Hebrew and Arabic, and put the Star of David on their gravestones.

Their oral traditions claim that their ancestors were Jews who fled the Holy Land about 2,500 years ago.

It may sound like another myth of a lost tribe of Israel, but British scientists have carried out DNA tests which confirm their Semitic origin.

These tests back up the group's belief that a group of perhaps seven men married African women and settled on the continent.

The Lemba pray in a language which mixes Arabic and Hebrew
And they also have a prized religious artefact that they say connects them to their Jewish ancestry - a replica of the Biblical Ark of the Covenant known as the ngoma lungundu, meaning "the drum that thunders".

The object went on display recently at a Harare museum to much fanfare, and instilled pride in many of the Lemba.

"For me it's the starting point," says religious singer Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave.

"Very few people knew about us and this is the time to come out. I'm very proud to realise that we have a rich culture and I'm proud to be a Lemba.

"We have been a very secretive people, because we believe we are a special people."

Religion vs culture

The Lemba have many customs and regulations that tally with Jewish tradition.

They wear skull caps, practise circumcision, which is not a tradition for most Zimbabweans, avoid eating pork and food with animal blood, and have 12 tribes.

Many people say that the story is far-fetched, but the oral traditions of the Lemba have been backed up by science

Tudor Parfitt
University of London
They slaughter animals in the same way as Jewish people, and they put the Jewish Star of David on their tombstones.

Members of the spiritual leaders of the Lemba, a clan known as the Buba, were even discovered to have a genetic element also found among the Jewish priestly line.

"This was amazing," said Tudor Parfitt, from the University of London.

"It looks as if the Jewish priesthood continued in the West by people called Cohen, and in same way it was continued by the priestly clan of the Lemba.

"They have a common ancestor who geneticists say lived about 3,000 years ago somewhere in north Arabia, which is the time of Moses and Aaron when the Jewish priesthood started."

The Lemba have a sacred prayer language which is a mixture of Hebrew and Arabic, pointing to their roots in Israel and Yemen.

Despite their ties to Judaism, many of the Lemba in Zimbabwe are Christians, while some are Muslims.

"Christianity is my religion, and Judaism is my culture," explains Perez Hamandishe, a pastor and member of parliament from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

Despite their centuries-old traditions, some younger Lemba are taking a more liberal view.

"In the old days you didn't marry a non-Lemba, but these days we interact with others," says Alex Makotore, son of the late Chief Mposi from the Lemba "headquarters" in Mberengwa.

"I feel special in my heart but not in front of others such that I'm separated from them. Culture is dynamic."

The oral traditions of the Lemba say that the ngoma lungundu is the Biblical wooden Ark made by Moses, and that centuries ago a small group of men began a long journey carrying it from Yemen to southern Africa.

Hearing from those professors in Harare and seeing the ngoma makes it clear that we are a great people and I'm very proud

David Maramwidze
Lemba elder
The object went missing during the 1970s and was eventually rediscovered in Harare in 2007 by Mr Parfitt.

"Many people say that the story is far-fetched, but the oral traditions of the Lemba have been backed up by science," he says.

Carbon dating shows the ngoma to be nearly 700 years old - pretty ancient, if not as old as Bible stories would suggest.

But Mr Parfitt says this is because the ngoma was used in battles, and would explode and be rebuilt.

The ngoma now on display was a replica, he says, possibly built from the remains of the original.

"So it's the closest descendant of the Ark that we know of," Mr Parfitt says.

Large crowds came to see the unveiling of the ngoma and to attend lectures on the identity of the Lemba.

For David Maramwidze, an elder in his village, the discovery of the ngoma has been a defining moment.

"Hearing from those professors in Harare and seeing the ngoma makes it clear that we are a great people and I'm very proud," he says.

"I heard about it all my life and it was hard for me to believe, because I had no idea of what it really is.

"I'm still seeing the picture of the ngoma in my mind and it will never come out from my brain. Now we want it to be given back to the Lemba people."

To hear more about the Lemba people, listen to the BBC World Service African Perspective programme on Saturday 6 March at 0830 GMT.

Russia’s new military doctrine lists NATO, US as major foreign threats

Russia has adopted an updated version of its military doctrine, which reflects the emergence of new threats against its national security. NATO military buildup and American Prompt Global Strike concept are listed among them.
The new doctrine was approved on Friday by President Vladimir Putin. Its core remains unchanged from the previous version. The Russian military remains a defensive tool which the country pledges to use only as a last resort.
Also unchanged are the principles of the use of nuclear weapons which Russia adheres to. Their primary goal is to deter potential enemies from attacking Russia, but it would use them to protect itself from a military attack – either nuclear or conventional – threatening its existence.
The new sections of the doctrine outline the threat Russia sees in NATO’s expansion and military buildup and the fact that the alliance is taking upon itself “global functions realized with violation of international law.”
The doctrine lists among major foreign military threats “the creation and deployment of global strategic antiballistic missile systems that undermines the established global stability and balance of power in nuclear missile capabilities, the implementation of the ‘prompt strike’ concept, intent to deploy weapons in space and deployment of strategic conventional precision weapons.”

Another new point in the doctrine is that one of the Russian military’s goals is to protect national interests in the Arctic region.

The document also points to the threat of destabilization countries bordering Russia or its allies and deployment of foreign troops such nations as a threat to national security.
Domestically, Russia faces threats of “actions aimed at violent change of the Russian constitutional order, destabilization of the political and social environment, disorganization of the functioning of governmental bodies, crucial civilian and military facilities and informational infrastructure of Russia,” the doctrine says.
Moscow sees international cooperation with countries sharing its effort to increase security, particularly members of BRICS, the OSCE, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and others as the key to preventing military conflicts, the doctrine states.
Traditional threats that Russia must deal with mentioned in the doctrine include extremism and terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and rocket technology and actions of foreign intelligence services.
The document notes that modern threats are increasingly drifting from a military nature to informational, and states that the likelihood of anyone launching a fully-fledged war against Russia is decreasing.

I have enjoyed gas as low as $2.19 a gallon on my road trip to Mexico, but this has real-world consequences, folks!

Russia is raging mad over our manipulation of the markets.  How long until the cornered bear strikes back?  I am not sure - but they have threatened, and I do not doubt that they will act out on their threats at some point.

Here is what got me spun up:

This is disturbing.  Now China has them - along with Russia.

This cannot be defended against....

I am sure Russia will hit us.  Not sure if China will just move in on the West Coast in the aftermath, or if they will join in the kill.

Either way, Russia/India/China will join in a coalition that will end up in Israel for the final scene when Christ comes to the rescue there.

This doctrine or voiced idea fits with what the Mp said would eventually happen after Russia takes the USA (NATO) out of the picture.

Not good, folks:
Russia may begin a full-scale continental war at any time, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has said.

"The challenges facing our country today are serious and dangerous. The ceasefire that is constantly violated by Russian terrorist groups may at any moment turn into a new brutal confrontation. Russia may unleash a full-scale continental war. And this may happen at any time," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"We have no alternative to being ready for this. And our task, first and foremost, the task of the National Security and Defense Council, is to ensure the full mobilization of all available resources in the country, in order to build a powerful defense complex prepared to repel the aggressor and be fully prepared to completely liberate our territory," Turchynov said.

Well, we are wrapping up this year.  This guy was pretty darn good!  When I consider that I do not know what I will have for breakfast tomorrow - his record is hard to beat.

I strongly feel that the remainder of his prophecies will spill over into 2015.  I think he was pretty spot on.  Timing is ALWAYS tricky - due to agency and the Lord's timing.  Some things are prophetically concrete - others are based on human action/inaction.  Therefore, I rarely - if ever - fault someone I know who has the gift.

Here is the link to his 2014 predictions.  I will be looking for his 2015 dump and will post it if I can find it:

Great quote.  I have seen portions of it - but not the whole thing in context:

Brigham Young said the following:
“We are not anxious to obtain gold; if we can obtain it by raising potatoes and wheat, all right. ‘Can’t you make yourselves rich by speculating?’ We do not wish to. ‘Can’t you make yourselves rich by going to the gold mines?’ We are right in the midst of them. ‘Why don’t you dig the gold from the earth?’ Because it demoralizes any community or nation on the earth to give them gold and silver to their hearts’ content; it will ruin any nation. But give them iron and coal, good hard work, plenty to eat, good schools and good doctrine, and it will make them a healthy, wealthy and happy people” (Discourses of Brigham Young, 298).
“The worst fear that I have about this people is that they will get rich in this country, forget God and His people, wax fat, and kick themselves out of the Church and go to hell. This people will stand mobbing, robbing, poverty, and all manner of persecution, and be true. But my greater fear for them is that they cannot stand wealth; and yet they have to be tried with riches, for they will become the richest people on this earth” (reported in James S. Brown, Life of a Pioneer [1900], 122–23).
*My question is, does this pertain to the Saints in the Last Days? What do any of you know about this? Is this related to what is to happen before the great earthquake in Salt Lake?

The Mp said it would happen - but also caveated that it would back-fire on us.  Ultimately, the US would get nuked (our military bases/nuclear stockpiles).

So, there you have it.....

Also, read the article to the end.  The author (who I am sure does not read this dog and pony blog), came to the conclusion that the average Russian would support military action to punish the tyrant that caused the economy to collapse.......  Hmmmm..... that would be the US and/or NATO.

Folks - not good!

This may come in handy over the next couple of years:

As troops move from the underbelly of Asia and China to descend on Israel, this definitely will come in handy.  Portions of it are already under construction.

They will have it done in a few years.  This is all part of the one-world government trade plan.  They already have created the NAFTA corridors for this continent.  I witnessed the I-15 border crossing into Canada that was created for this very purpose.  You WILL be assimilated into the collective, according to these chumps.  May the Lord come quickly and take the trash to the curb that promote the satanic agenda:

Boy, would I ever love to get the follow-on statements to these quotes that would shed just a little more light on the nature of this test.  I have my suspicions or theories - but hey....

From a FB peep that I really respect for his doctrinal/research prowess:

from a prophecy that was quoted by President(s) Kimball, Benson and Hinckley, which is in line with a recent prophecy from Elder Hales, the real testing period (coordinating with the stark prophecies from Isaiah and the Book of Mormon) have not been fulfilled – to date...

In August 16, 1857, Heber C. Kimball stated:

"There will also be a day when you will be brought to the test — when your very hearts and your inmost souls will melt within you because of the scenes that many of you will witness. Yes, you will be brought to that test, when you will feel as if every thing within you would dissolve. Then will be the time you will be tried whether you will stand the test or fall away."

(Remarks by President Heber C. Kimball, Delivered in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, Sunday Morning, August 16, 1857. source)

In May of 1868 Heber C. Kimball said:

"An army of Elders will be sent to the four quarters of the earth to search out the righteous and warn the wicked of what is coming. All kinds of religions will be started and miracles performed that will deceive the very elect if that were possible.

"Our sons and daughters must live pure lives so as to be prepared for what is coming.

"After a while the Gentiles will gather by the thousands to this place, and Salt Lake City will be classed among the wicked cities of the world. A spirit of speculation and extravagance will take possession of the Saints, and the results will be financial bondage.

"Persecution comes next and all true Latter-day Saints will be tested to the limit. Many will apostatize and others will be still not knowing what to do. Darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the minds of the people. The judgments of God will be poured out on the wicked to the extent that our Elders from far and near will be called home, or in other words the gospel will be taken from the Gentiles and later on carried to the Jews.

"The western boundary of the State of Missouri will be swept so clean of its inhabitants that as President Young tells us, when you return to that place, there will not be left so much as a yellow dog to wag his tail.

"Before that day comes, however, the Saints will be put to a test that will try the integrity of the best of them. The pressure will become so great that the more righteous among them will cry unto the Lord day and night until deliverance comes.

"Yes, we think we are secure here in the chambers of these everlasting hills, where we can close the doors of the canyons against mobs and persecutors, the wicked and the vile, who have always beset us with violence and robbery, but I want to say to you, my brethren, that the time is coming when we will be mixed up in these now peaceful valleys to that extent that it will be difficult to tell the face of a Saint from the face of an enemy against the people of God.

"Then is the time to look out for the great sieve, for there will be a great shifting time, and many will fall. For I say unto you there is a test, a Test, a TEST coming.

"This Church has before it many close places through which it will have to pass before the work of God is crowned with glory. The difficulties will be of such a character that the man or woman who does not possess a personal knowledge or witness will fall. If you have not got this testimony, you must live right and call upon the Lord, and cease not until you obtain it.

"Remember these sayings: The time will come when no man or woman will be able to endure on borrowed light. Each will have to be guided by the light within themselves. If you do not have the knowledge that Jesus is the Christ, how can you stand?"

(Heber C. Kimball, First Counselor in the First Presidency, May 1868, in Deseret News, 23 May 1931; see also Conference Report, Oct. 1930, p. 58-59)

CAPTIVITY: To be in physical or spiritual bondage.

"Should it be of concern to us when the mouthpiece of the Lord keeps constantly and consistently raising his voice of warning about the loss of our freedom as he has over the years? There are two unrighteous ways to deal with his prophetic words of warning: you can fight them or you can ignore them. Either course will bring you disaster in the long run."

Elder Ezra Taft Benson, "Not Commanded in All Things," 1965

"President Lee... told Bro. Skousen... the prophet is under constant pressure to protect the church against our own government. He said the beast is alive and thriving and he said we are threatened constantly with annihilation of the church, its properties, its ways of doing things, by our own system of government. He asked Bro. Benson to give no more anti-Communist talks and you have not heard him since that time. It’s kind of interesting; we have to be aware that when the prophet is changed, that often the direction of the church is changed.

"And so we have an interesting assignment ahead of us, because we have gone to the point now where it is no longer possible for us to eliminate the secret combinations from around the world. Our assignment is to gather the church together as tightly as we can, to pull it together as strongly and as vigorously as we can."

Vern, of the Mormon Holy Grail book fame, wrote this article back in 1982.

Great stuff.  Typical of his research prowess.  I would love to have this guy teaching my quorum classes.  We have few great scholarly types like him in the Church - mostly just watered down drivel - milk with no fat, let alone meat these days for the spiritually anemic who can handle little of substance.

Here is the article:

Israel’s “Other Tribes”

When the Prophet Joseph Smith set down the Articles of Faith in 1842, he included an interesting declaration concerning the tribes of Israel which now reads in part: “We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; [and] that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American Continent.” (A of F 1:10.)
In that statement the Prophet acknowledged, first, a historical fact—that a large portion of the house of Israel had been taken by Assyria from the land of their inheritance and thus were lost from the common knowledge of the tribe of Judah, the ancient record-keepers; and second, the Prophet acknowledged the Lord’s promise for the future—that these tribes “lost” in terms of immediate recognition, would be gathered in again in the latter days.
It was the Lord himself who referred to these of his scattered sheep as the “other tribes of the house of Israel.” (3 Ne. 15:15.) The scriptures and related sources give us a limited body of information about these “other tribes” up to the point when they were “lost” to Judah’s record-keepers.
After the conquest of the promised land of Canaan (Palestine) following Israel’s exodus from Egypt, Joshua partitioned the area into thirteen geographical entities to be possessed by the tribes of Israel. The tribes lived under a government of judges for 334 years, and then under the kingship of Saul, David, and Solomon for another 120 years before the land was divided into the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah in 975 B.C.
Because of Solomon’s transgressions, the Lord declared the end of his kingdom: “And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way. …
“And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:
“And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to thee.” (1 Kgs. 11:29–31.)
Thus at the death of Solomon, his son Rehoboam suffered a rebellion that left him the southern part, known as the kingdom of Judah, while a northern kingdom, known as the kingdom of Israel, formed under Jeroboam. This northern kingdom was also sometimes called the kingdom of Ephraim (which was the largest and most prominent tribe), or simply “Samaria,” after the capital city of the Ephraimite province.
Jeroboam immediately plunged the kingdom of Israel into enduring wickedness. Fearing that his people would travel to Jerusalem to worship at the temple in the kingdom of Judah and thus eventually shift their allegiance there, he made idols for their false worship. (See 1 Kgs. 12:26–33.) Nevertheless, the northern kingdom of Israel endured for another 253 years before the people’s wickedness weakened the kingdom to the point that Assyria conquered it.
The Assyrian conquest began about 738 B.C. when the armies of Tiglath-Pileser III marched against Menahem, king of Israel, wresting part of his dominion and compelling him to pay tribute. By 733 B.C., all of the northern kingdom except Mount Ephraim was conquered by the Assyrians, including the lands occupied by the tribes of Dan, Asher, Naphtali, Zebulun, Issachar, and the half-tribe of Manasseh in the region of Galilee, and Reuben, Gad, and the other half-tribe of Manasseh in trans-Jordan. (See 2 Kgs. 15:29; 1 Chr. 5:26.) After Tiglath-Pileser’s death in 727 B.C., he was succeeded by Shalmaneser IV, who immediately laid siege to Ephraim’s capital city of Samaria. After three years, Shalmaneser died and Sargon II took power. His famous “cylinder inscription” declares that it was he who was “the conquerer of the city of Samaria and the whole land of Beth-Omri.”
In his treatment of the kingdom of Ephraim (Israel), Sargon II followed the policies established by Tiglath-Pileser: deportation and colonization. Excavators have found, amid the ruins of his palace at Khorsabad, the annals of his conquest. One entry reads:
“In the beginning of my reign I besieged, I took by the help of the god Shamash, who gives me victory over my enemies, the city of Samaria. 27,290 of its inhabitants I carried away. … I took them to Assyria and put into their places people whom my hand had conquered.”
The Old Testament confirms this account, stating that “in the ninth year of Hoshea [722–21 B.C.] the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the fiver of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.” (2 Kgs. 17:6; also 2 Kgs. 18:9–12; see map.) Then Sargon “brought men from Babylon, and from Cutha, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel.” (2 Kgs. 17:24.)
The people thus transplanted into Samaria eventually mingled with the remaining peoples of the northern kingdom and produced a religion that was a mixture of portions of the true faith and portions of pagan worship, for “they feared the Lord, [yet] served their own gods.” (2 Kgs. 17:33.) This mixture of nationalities and pollution of the religion appalled the Jews to the south and created enmity between them and these new “Samaritans.” Even in the time of the Savior, the Jews had a superior attitude toward the Samaritans.
Just how many Israelites were carried into Assyria is not known. Sargon II claimed 27,290 captives, but that number only represents the captives taken from the city of Samaria alone. Doubtless the total number carried away was significant, for Samaria never recovered as a power from the expulsion and never again became the dominant force that the northern kingdom of Israel had been. Nevertheless, the depopulation was not total, since it was the usual policy of the Assyrians to select only the ablest, most skilled, and intelligent of the people for deportation, just as Nebuchadnezzar later did in the captivity of Judah: “And he [Nebuchadnezzar] carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.” (2 Kgs. 24:14.)
It may be that those taken captive by the Assyrians numbered in the hundreds of thousands. In any case, these members of the Lord’s Other Tribes were taken away as colonists to the area of northwestern Mesopotamia, toward the upper reaches of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, there to await the time of their escape. Today those areas are associated with eastern Syria, northern Iraq, northwestern Iran, and the Armenian region of eastern Turkey.
Eventually, some of the displaced Israelites escaped from their captivity, to the fulfillment of the word of the Lord through his prophet Amos: “For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve.” (Amos 9:9.) How this portion escaped, and when, are not known.
Perhaps the fall of Assyria afforded the captives the opportunity to escape. In the period from 614 to 610 B.C. the army of the Medes under Cyaxeres overran all the territory of the Assyrians, including the areas of Halah and Gozan, where many of the captives had been settled. This was the end of the Assyrian empire. Subsequently, some of the peoples held captive by Assyria migrated. This migration seems to have been under way by the early part of the sixth century B.C., for at that time Nephi wrote: “Behold, there are many who are already lost from the knowledge of those who are at Jerusalem. Yea, the more part of all the tribes have been led away.” (1 Ne. 22:4; italics added.)
The best account of the departure of the Other Tribes by Judah’s record-keepers is found in the book of 2 Esdras (also called 4 Ezra). In verses 40 through 47 of chapter 13 we read:
“These are the ten tribes which were led away captive out of their own land in the days of Josiah [Hoshea] the king, which (tribes) Salmanassar the king of the Assyrians led away captive; he carried them across the River, and (thus) they were transported into another land. But they took this counsel among themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the heathen, and go forth into a land further distant, where the human race had never dwelt, there at least to keep their statutes which they had not kept in their own land. And they entered by the narrow passages of the river Euphrates. For the Most High then wrought wonders for them, and stayed the springs of the River until they were passed over. And through that country there was a great way to go, (a journey) of a year and a half; and that region was called Arzareth. There they have dwelt until the last times.” (R. H. Charles, The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament, 2 vols., Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1964, 2:619.)
This report agrees with 2 Kings 17:6, 18:11 [2 Kgs. 17:6; 2 Kgs. 18:11], and 1 Chronicles 5:26 [1 Chr. 5:26] in that the tribes would have been taken “across the River” (the Euphrates) on the way to the places of captivity named in those verses. An escape “by the narrow passages of the river Euphrates” (that is, in its upper reaches—see map) into “a land further distant, where the human race had never dwelt” points to a northward direction for the subsequent migration of the tribes (the lands east, west, and south of Assyria were already inhabited at that time). This, too, agrees with a number of scriptural prophecies relative to the eventual return of those Other Tribes from the “land of the north,” or “north countries.” (See, Israel, Ten Lost Tribes of, in Topical Guide, LDS edition of the King James Bible.)
Map of Canaan and Media(click to view larger)
Beginning in 721–22 B.C., the Assyrians carried many Israelites captive, settling them “in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.” From these areas, according to one account, they later migrated northward “by the narrow passages of the river Euphrates.”
This was to be an event of such significance that the prophet Jeremiah spoke these powerful words:
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
“But, The Lord liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.” (Jer. 23:7–8.)
Precisely where the tribes journeyed after the fall of Assyria is another unknown, even as it is unknown to Judah where Lehi and Mulek went; Arzareth itself simply means “another land.” But seeking an actual locale is perhaps an irrelevant question, since the scriptures clearly indicate that the Other Tribes were to be scattered among many nations, even though a distinct remnant of them clearly would remain in the “land of the north.”
It is also clear that part of the scattering surely involved portions of the Other Tribes that didn’t go north. As mentioned earlier, some of the population of the northern kingdom were left in the conquered lands of the northern kingdom by the Assyrians and not taken captive at all. Others, although taken captive, elected to remain in the land of their captivity, for Isaiah indicated in his well-known prophecy: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.” (Isa. 11:11; also 2 Ne. 21:11; italics added.) Assyria, Elam, Shinar, and Hamath were all lands involved in the Assyrian captivity. This same principle also applies to Judah, for many Jews did not return to Jerusalem after establishing themselves in Babylon and places where they fled.
Nevertheless, as a distinct remnant, the Other Tribes did become “lost” to Judah’s record-keepers—not simply because they were taken captive, but also because they left their captivity and went forth “into a land further distant,” numerous of them undoubtedly choosing to settle in the lands through which they traveled.
Since that time—particularly in the last few centuries—attempts to locate and identify the Other Tribes have been numerous. At different times and by a variety of Christian authors the Other Tribes of Israel have been identified with the Japanese, Chinese, Turks, Ethiopians, Persians, Yemenites, Nestorians, Afghans, Arabians, Britons, Kassites of Russia, Hindus and Buddhists of India, Scythians, Cimmerians, Celts, Kareens of Burma, North and South American Indians, Australians, and Eskimos. Indeed it is possible that remnants of the Other Tribes may have spread out and became part of all these peoples in fulfillment of the prophecies that Israel would spread itself throughout many countries.
In the ninth century, for example, a man called Eldad ben Mahli went to Kairwan, Tunisia, announcing that he was from a Jewish kingdom in Ethiopia comprising peoples of four of the ten tribes. This tradition continued into the sixteenth century when the geographer Abraham Yagel placed the Other Tribes in Ethiopia and India. Perhaps the most interesting accounts of Other Tribes “hunting” came from a merchant named Benjamin de Tudels, a Jewish-Spanish traveler at the time of the Crusades who shared an account of Jewish communities in the Near East and communities of the Other Tribes in Iran, India, and beyond, northward as well as eastward. Many are the legends, romantic tales, and speculations concerning the locale or present-day identification of the “Lost Tribes.”
It was in this vacuum of reliable reformation regarding the Other Tribes that in November 1831 Joseph Smith received this revelation from the Lord:
“They who are in the north countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord; and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves; and they shall smite the rocks, and the ice shall flow down at their presence.
“And an highway shall be cast up in the midst of the great deep. …
“And they shall bring forth their rich treasures unto the children of Ephraim, my servants.
“And the boundaries of the everlasting hills shall tremble at their presence.
“And there shall they fall down and be crowned with glory, even in Zion, by the hands of the servants of the Lord, even the children of Ephraim.
“And they shall be filled with songs of everlasting joy.” (D&C 133:26–33.)
In the last days, then, the Other Tribes are to come to Zion, “upon the American continent,” there to receive blessings from Ephraim. The keys of the “gathering of Israel from the four parts of the earth, and the leading of the ten tribes from the land of the north” were committed to the Prophet Joseph Smith by Moses on 3 April 1836 in the Kirtland Temple. Since Ephraim itself was one of the Other Tribes lost to Jewish and Christian history, we see that the promised restoration has already begun. In fact, we have been blessed to identify many from another tribe, Manasseh. This identification of tribal lineage is made under the hands of inspired patriarchs in the normal spiritual processes incident to the functions of the priesthood.
As we look toward our common future, we see that, as foretold, the great gathering, or restoration, of all the peoples of Israel who have spread themselves throughout the world will be accomplished and distinct remnants of all of the tribal units of Israel will at last be united again in fellowship under Christ. All tribes are to have representation in the establishment of the New Jerusalem. All tribes will have representatives in the calling of the “hundred and forty and four thousand” mentioned in John’s revelation, twelve thousand out of every tribe of Israel. (Rev. 7:2–8.) These are “high priests, ordained unto the holy order of God, to administer the everlasting gospel; for they are they who are ordained out of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, by the angels to whom is given power over the nations of the earth, to bring as many as will come to the church of the Firstborn.” (D&C 77:11.) Thus, a great work awaits representatives of each tribe as they continue to preach the gospel throughout the world to all mankind. Ultimately, in righteousness the Other Tribes of Israel will be prepared to return to Jerusalem, to receive with Judah the lands of their first inheritance. (See Deut. 30:1–5.)
Certainly all the reasons why the Lord “hid” the tribes—as he did with both Ephraim and Manasseh—and exactly when we will identify the others and when a distinct remnant of “they who are in the north countries” will come to “the boundaries of the everlasting hills” is information that remains with God. However, we do know that it will ultimately be for the benefit of all—for those who were “lost,” for the nations who were blessed by their leavening seed, and for us in Israel today who await the gathering of these Other Tribes and the great work of restoring to all the peoples of Israel the true knowledge of their God and King, Jesus Christ.

This is kind of random and bizarro:

I guess I had always been asleep at the hymnal and missed this:

We always sing this song at Christmas time and I know the words, but today while we were singing it in church my wife quietly asked me, "Do you realize what this song is really about?" and it really struck me that this song is not about the Saviors birth. While it is a celebration of His life, it is more a celebration of the Savior's Second Coming and the Millennium when He will reign. So, just for a moment, I invite you all to imagine that moment when He comes in all glory and majesty and we rise to meet Him. Will we not feel and sing the words of this song?
1. Joy to the world, the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King!
Let ev'ry heart prepare him room,
And Saints and angels sing.
2. Rejoice! Rejoice when Jesus reigns,
And Saints their songs employ,
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy.
3. No more will sin and sorrow grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He'll come and make the blessings flow
Far as the curse was found.
4. Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most High,
While Israel spreads abroad
Like stars that glitter in the sky,
And ever worship God.
Text: Isaac Watts, 1674-1748; alt. by William W. Phelps, 1792-1872. Included in the first LDS Hymnbook, 1835.

This sounds like the opposite of what happened back in the 1960's.....

If it really is a "hate crime" - (I hate that term.....), it could really 'ignite' a huge backlash......  Seriously disturbing.  All I can say is that I would have to recuse myself from investigating this one if that were one of  my girls.  I would probably go on a little hunting expedition and take care of the problem myself, once I knew who it was for sure.  Vigilante justice serves a good purpose in a society that is raging out of control:

Control freaks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every corner will have a camera, a database and the Bloombergs of the world will tell you that must eat your fruit or veggies before you can buy that candy bar.  Of course, these things will be streaming data to the central database of big bro. so you will be tracked and surveilled by the biggest police state the world has ever known.  And the people, pacified by lithium, reality tv and fluoride in every cup of water they drink.

When is the insanity going to stop?  When will people rise up against their masters and marshal themselves for war against the machine that has enslaved them?

Can you tell that I am a little irritated today?

It is fascinating to read this wiki article on the inner workings of kibbutz.  Through the various experiments that were carried out over in Israel, we can learn what things did/did not work and learn much about why our own attempts at consecration have not been successful.

Lessons learned from that will help ease the transition into the Millennial model of Consecration.

It WILL be implemented, if only by force of circumstance (and not direct force).  Times will  be interesting, here shortly:

This is big enough to ruin someone's day.....:

Not very pretty:

Spencer said it would happen.  Maybe she will rip-roar after a few years of building steam.....

This does NOT sound good.

These jokers are bent on destruction at any cost.  Against an overwhelming force that is oppressive, the question has to be asked what is wrong, and what is right in this instance......

I draw the line at hurting innocent women and children - PERIOD.  Any "religion" or government that sees them as just collateral damage in a conflict loses my respect and credibility in their cause.  George Washington always focused on the military objectives - and never played dirty.

He may have used asymmetric warfare on the British (we were shooting at them from the trees and not from a battle formation, in many instances), he NEVER crossed the line over to innocent life.  Never buy the false argument that the Continental Soldiers were somehow terrorists.  They simply were not.

Here is the article:

"The New Testament does say that Jesus cast seven demons out of her. But our scrolls say Jesus cast seven demons off Mary Magdalene, not out of her. That one word makes a big difference! In our Essene New Testament, seven demon-possessed men had jumped Mary Magdalene, with the intention of raping her. Jesus came to her defense, throwing the men off her. It is also important to note that the Hebrew word by which the Essenes designated their Priestesses was Kedushah, which literally means feminine holiness, or holy woman. While the Nasarean sect of Essenes permitted women in the Priesthood, mainstream Judaism did not and condemned the Essenes for this practice. Thus, in mainstream Judaism, the term Kedushah became a negative slur, meaning harlot, the idea being that any woman who entered the priesthood was a no good harlot. In Strong’s Concordance to the Bible, both meanings are given for the Hebrew word Kedushah: 1) Holy Female Devotee; 2) Harlot. Thus, we see where the confusion in regard to Mary Magdalene came from. Her title as an Essene Priestess ?Kedushah ?became a negative slur meaning harlot, simply because mainstream Judaism thought it was terrible for women to enter the Priesthood. Simply put, Mary Magdalene was never a prostitute!

I find it interesting that Noah had an ark full of animals (probably numbered in the thousands), but only saved 8 of the human species.  Countering the argument that many atheists and other godless ones will use against God, calling him psychotic for such willful disregard in drowning his "poor, poor children", I have pointed out in this blog that Enoch did the majority of the heavy lifting when it came to getting what was salvageable (I would guess of both animal and human life) off this planet before the flood (yes, God does love ALL of His children - and will save and even advance those that will give at least a half-hearted attempt at listening and then obeying.....).  The rest?  Spiritual darwinists - that have self de-selected through blatant disobedience and willful ignorance.  The kind of trash I have to fight on a regular basis and the kind that God simply has to sweep out of the way so that it is tolerable for the rest of us that just want to live out our lives and raise our children in peace and without predatory freaks who love sin, more than God, wreaking havoc in the lives of the ones we love.

I just got out of a year end review where I again did battle defending a few people who should not have gotten smacked down or canned - or as I say, "voted off the island".  Six to nine months ago, my previous manager went on a rampage and tried to clean house.  In the process, a lot of toes were stepped on, including mine.  I had helped train her as a new hire almost a decade ago.  I told one of the other fellows that she was after, that she only had "weeks" until it came back to bite her since I had observed her taking on some very powerful people in management.  It was like watching a bull in a china shop.  She was gone 2 1/2 weeks later.  The law of the harvest, baby....  I am always amazed to watch pride take possession of people - and then watch them fall.  I have been there a few times myself.  The gravity ride down is always a bunch of fun......

Anyway, I told her that she could smack me down all she wanted, but there would be a final accounting when it was all over and anything that either one of us came up lacking in, would be clearly rectified at that point (ie; I will let God judge between me and thee - and He will make the decision, let the chips fall where they may).  I then informed her that I was taking three months off to assist my wife with her health concerns and I used that time to make the move to Cardston, AB.

Three months later, I am back in the saddle and one of the first things I see in my e-mail is a group invite to watch a pre-screening of the new Hunger Games movie.  I watched the first one with my wife a year or so ago.  It was entertaining, if not violent and dark.  Most people I hang with, would hang me for saying that.  I rail on that kind of stuff - the notion that there is only room for a few at the top.  Winner take all.  This is satan's plan!!  I hope everyone can see it.  God would that all of His children would voluntarily submit to the will of the Father in following in the footsteps of the Son.  All could be saved  It was not some kind of nasty democracy where one half votes the other half off the heavenly abode.  In fact, if we are not consciously rooting for our fellow man, then we are guilty of violation of the second commandment.  We are guilty of the sin of Sodom - on which hang ALL the law and prophets.  Pretty clear to me.  So, I get incensed when I see people jockeying for position and trying to shove the proverbial knife in the back of their co-workers so they can get ahead and climb the ladder.  In fact, I raise hell over it.  When I sense one of those types is in my group, I double down on them until they either change, or leave.  It is very simple for me - and it has been a blissful existence.  When others from our organization rotate into our group, across the board, they want to stay and make it a permanent home, for this is where a Zion spirit exists.  One of mutual love and approbation - not back-stabbing and ladder climbing. Other groups, turnover rates have been quite high, by choice, as people scramble for the exits at the first opportunity or managers impose a "no transfer" policy to keep people in.

Our entire culture has now been conditioned to pick on those at the bottom of the totem pole and try and get up a little so that they are not the one being picked on.  Our tv (mind) programming shows this in spades with so many reality tv shows.  They always bothered me - and now I know why.

When I was in Cardston, we got tapped one day to help drive the herd of 20 cattle up to a separating corral to cleave off one of the cows and her calf.  The two would be taken to another corral on another ranch where the calf would be cleaved from the mother.  The mother would then be returned to the herd - sans calf.  The calf had some issues (would not make good breeding stock), so the herdsman sent him off to be fattened and slaughtered.  When we were driving the herd back, sans the pair, the bull and many of the cows inherently knew that they were missing one of their own and a few attempts were made to break out and find a way back up the road to the entrance to the corral.  He did not want to lose even the least of his posse.  These animals were tight-knit - and not just looking out for themselves, but had the interests of others in mind.  I gained MUCH respect for that bull and that herd that day - and lost much respect for many who wallow in the mind-set that as long as you are on top, you are fine in stomping on those below you.

Our handlers (the gads) have plans to thin the herd.  Those who buckle down and suck up (accept the mark of the beast, nark on their non-conforming comrades) and otherwise show disregard for their fellow humans, will appear to come out on top.  It will appear that they are about win - but I have a great God who will fight my battles and your battles - and who will come out victorious over all things in heaven and earth.  I have a rock-solid knowledge of this.

Those who are lesser beings than those humble cattle, will be swept if they do not speedily repent and come to Christ.  For, is our destiny not much greater than the simplest of God's creations?  If we have a cat or dog who is more loving than we, reasoning creatures, should we not fear for our own futures in the presence of a God of Love?

I think so.  The d'evil's plan in a sham - a trap; and so many fall for it and the tenets that go forth from it like so many tentacles from an octopus - to ensure and trap the unwary.  Let us be harmless as a dove, while exercising the wisdom of a serpent.
