So, we get what we have coming to us. This is the warning of the Book of Mormon. This land will be given to another people as you and I (the Gentiles), are driven off and the land is swept clean.
Spencer outlined how this sweeping will occur. Usually, you can find out what your fate is by looking at how the land was cleared of its former inhabitants when the gentiles still had the moral high ground (compared to the former inhabitants). Now the remnant of those who were cleared will wield a mighty power over the gentiles. It will be a terrible day for us as a nation. Germ warfare, overwhelming military force and so much more.
In our travels we spent the morning at the Battle of Little Bighorn site and heard about the last great triumph of a weakened people. We had an excellent Park Ranger describe it down to the detail, including the detail about the Ghost Dance (previous blog article).
Our day is almost here:
D&C 45:28-30
28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel;
29 BUT THEY RECEIVE IT NOT ;
for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.
30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
What will happen to all of us living in America ?
From these scriptures we can see that:
D&C 45:
28 "fulness of my gospel". is the restored Gospel now.
29 "BUT THEY RECEIVE IT NOT". The people in
this country did not, have not, and will not receive
the restored Gospel.
30 "the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled". Our time has ended.
We had our chance.
3 Nephi 16:
10,11,12 "I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them".
The Gospel will now go back to the house of Israel.
"The first will be last and the last first".
Ether 2:11,12)
11 “And this cometh unto you, O ye Gentiles, that ye may know the decrees of God – that ye may repent, and not continue in your iniquities until the fulness come, that ye may not bring down the fulness of the wrath of God upon you as the inhabitants of the land have hitherto done.
12 Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written.”
(Ether 2:9,10)
9 “And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity.
10 For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off.”
Ether says three times "swept off",
but the last time it's not if, it's when.
"And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land,
THAT THEY ARE SWEPT OFF.”
Where much is given, much is required.
Have we lived up to the lease of the land ?
Last year I was in Las Vegas shortly before the April General Conference. Important trade shows take place in that city and you can even find good entertainment on the Strip, but you can't spend a day there without thinking that you are seeing a society ripe in iniquity.
ReplyDeleteA few months later I was in New Orleans. I love that city and much of it was wonderful, but I took a wrong turn in the French Quarter and found more strong evidence of how ripe in iniquity our society is.
Amen to your French Quarter comment.
DeleteSpencer had great visions of the goodness of Cardston. Did he include the investing of the teachings of Denver Snuffer? Apparently Denver's thoughts on the Church have touched some of the local folks and although excommunicated - are actively proselyting Denver's teachings. Suppose to be invading Cardston and spreading the word. So much for being "spared" the worldly garbage. It will be up to the "grounded members" to assist the wobbly.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's naivety on my part but I view the presence of temples, tithe paying, and recommend holding saints in this land as not being "fully ripe" in inequity. Yes, there are many problems and deep and profound spiritual pathologies here and around the world. But I kind of take the starry eyed view of Abraham who pleaded with the Lord to spare Sodom if he could find a smattering of good people to which the Lord agreed. While not perfect, the saints are a bulwark against total annihilation. Besides, somebody has to be ready to take control when the government collapses.
ReplyDeleteI believe there will be pockets of protection for the Saints who gather in obedience while a general destruction proceeds. Don't forget the key that never rusts. Tares gathered into bundles for the burning denotes the wicked tend to gather as well.
