THE MOCKING FROM THE GREAT AND SPACIOUS

I find the mocking to be the most pernicious when it comes from loved ones or those who are self-avowed members of the Church who profess to cling to deeply-held principles and beliefs.  Many, I find, are wolves in sheep's clothing.  I have the gift of discernment (but am not necessarily street wise or street smart, like many wolves that I know) - so I do alright in navigating them.

Great Conference talk:

"Over the many years that I have studied the story of Lehi’s dream in the Book of Mormon, I have always thought of the great and spacious building as a place where only the most rebellious reside.
The building was filled with people mocking and pointing at the faithful who had held on to the iron rod, which represents the word of God, and had made their way to the tree of life, which represents the love of God...
"For years I thought the mocking crowd was making fun of the way the faithful live their lives, but the voices from the building today have changed their tone and approach. Those who mock often try to drown out the simple message of the gospel by attacking some aspect of the Church’s history or offering pointed criticism of a prophet or other leader. They are also attacking the very heart of our doctrine and the laws of God, given since the Creation of the earth. We, as disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His Church, must never let go of that iron rod. We must let the clarion trumpet sound from our own souls.
"The simple message is that God is our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is His Son. The gospel is restored in these latter days through living prophets, and the evidence is the Book of Mormon. The path of happiness is through the basic family unit as originally organized and revealed by our Heavenly Father. This is the familiar melody of the message that many can recognize because they have heard it from their premortal life.
"It is time for us, as Latter-day Saints, to stand up and testify. It is time for the notes of the melody of the gospel to rise above the noise of the world."

  1. Yes, truly the worst part of it is that the Big and Spacious building is made up of members of the Church.

Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ is the KEY to making it. Everything bad around us grows dim and silent when we stay focused on Him and His voice.

Take a bath in the scriptures.

Think of how we must look to the Lord when we're glued to Super Bowl for 3 hours or so, gorging on food and drink, totally forgetting Him and the Son who suffered nailed to a cross while being mocked and accused by evil seen and unseen. When we could've spent that 3 hours praising Him, thanking Him, praying to Him, reading His words, and having the Holy Ghost and angels for company.

I challenge everyone to not watch Super Bowl and Illumaniti Princess, Beyonce', and give up satanic distracting hours of your mortal probation that may be your last and instead spend that time with God.

    1. I Agree with what you have stated but I believe that as we do these things we need to take it a step further...
We need to use our time, talent, and means to lift up those (yes even sinners...for we all are sinners) and help them. Visit and help those who are afflicted, imprisoned, destitute, etc.
Serving all those we are able to finds us serving our Lord and His Father. Charity is above all...do not forget our duty.

Reading the scriptures, praying, pondering, etc... are all those things which SHOULD lead us to act in service, unselfishly, to all we are able to help.

    2. Yes, faith without works is dead and thank you for bringing that up. You missed my point I think.

Which is..kicking Babylon to the curb from the inside of your home in favor of spending that time immersed in the influence of God. Instead of SITTING for 3 hours STARING at a T.V. participating in idolatry, get out your scriptures, pray, listen to spiritual music, and YES, I suppose you could be out doing good deeds as well.

THE POINT IS TO TURN AWAY FROM BABYLON AND TOWARD GOD AND KEEP THE SABBATH DAY HOLY. The Super Bowl is a test and you can bet if the prophet knocked on the door, you'd shut it off in a New York minute.

Makes me sick at the glee of church members who attend church and are excited it will be over for them in time to watch Sunday games played on t.v.

So don't be surprised Super Bowl watching Elders when that mountain doesn't move at your bidding but instead covers you!

God WILL have a pure and holy people to call His own.
