It may well be the thing that brings about the persecution of the Mormons as prophesied for so many generations. I get the sense that this labeling of conservatives as "terrorists", possibly along with the social isolating/shaming related to the whole "gay marriage" sham, will bring the Church under social condemnation here in the USA as things slide into the moral abyss. There will be a purging of God's people first, followed by this nation generally. This purging will come from the outside.
Then, when the USA is almost ready to cry "uncle", then they will call on the "Bundys and the Finicums" and so many others who are honest, good people to defend them, much like they did after casting the Saints out of Nauvoo and then asked for help in the Mexican-American War.
I think if you read between the lines of this prophecy (that I know is just and true), you will find the above scenario to be correct. History repeats itself - this from a previous blog post:
Here is the Mosiah Hancock prophecy that needs a little more fleshing out for it to fill the timeline I have in my head. Man, did Joseph ever nail this back in 1843. Impossible to make a call this accurate that many years ago. Statistical improbability, folks...... It doesn't take an engineer to figure that one out.....:
There will be two great political parties in this country. One will be called the Republican, and the other the Democrat party. These two parties will go to war and out of these two parties will spring another party which will be the Independent American Party. The United States will spend her strength and means warring in foreign lands until other nations will say, "Let's divide up the lands of the United States", then the people of the U. S. will unite and swear by the blood of their fore-fathers, that the land shall not be divided. Then the country will go to war, and they will fight until one half of the U. S. army will give up, and the rest will continue to struggle. They will keep on until they are very ragged and discouraged, and almost ready to give up-when the boys from the mountains will rush forth in time to save the American Army from defeat and ruin. And they will say, 'Brethren, we are glad you have come; give us men, henceforth, who can talk with God'. Then you will have friends, but you will save the country when it's [sic] liberty hangs by a hair, as it were. (Mosiah Lyman Hancock, Life Story of Mosiah Lyman Hancock, p. 29. A typewritten copy of the original manuscript is available in the Brigham Young University library.)
Once again, you are wrong. Neither the people of the United States, not the government, will contact us begging for help. We will go because our prophet directs us to go.
ReplyDeleteWe will not go forth as a large, well armed militia. I don't believe our forces will carry weapons at all! We will go forth as modern Stripling Warriors, armed with such strong faith and such great power in the priesthood that we merely have to exercise the priesthood to call down fire, cause earthquakes or tidal waves, or command the enemy fighters to give up the ghost.
If I participate, all my training in Marine Reconnaissance will be ignored. I know that I will stand openly, protected as Samuel was, as I command enemy forces to surrender. Thence will be inspired in how to use the Priesthood to defeat those forces. Although I will be working to defend our country and constitution, I will be doing more important work of teaching and converting as we go from one battle to the next.
