DID JESUS HAVE CHILDREN?

I have put a lot of quotes and anecdotes on this blog in the affirmative.

Here is one more set of quotes from the early Brethren that would back that assertion up:

I discover that some of the Eastern papers represent me as a great blasphemer, because I said, in my lecture on Marriage, at our last Conference, that Jesus Christ was married at Cana of Galilee, that Mary, Martha, and others were his wives, and that he begat children. All that I have to say in reply to that charge is this---they worship a Savior that is too pure and holy to fulfill the commands of his Father. I worship one that is just pure and holy enough ‘to fulfill all righteousness;’ not only the righteous law of baptism, but the still more righteous and important law ‘to multiply and replenish the earth.’ Startle not at this! for even the Father himself honored that law by coming down to Mary, without a natural [mortal] body, and begetting a son; and if Jesus begat children, he only ‘did that which he had seen his Father do.’

While visiting with Zina [Huntington] she related a conversation that occurred between her and a sister “Repshere” upon events in Nauvoo, where the Prophet Joseph Smith sealed her, Sister Repshere, to a Judge Adams of Springfield, Illinois.

The Prophet stated to her [Repshere] that Judge Adams was a literal descendant of Jesus Christ. The Judge died in Nauvoo and Sister Repshere, his wife, who had been married before to [a Mr.] Repshere, died at Hill Creek, Utah.

[NOTE: Judge Adams was a very close friend of the Prophet Joseph. He was one of the original nine men who received the endowment when it was first given on the 4th of May, 1842. Before Judge Adams death, Joseph said he anointed him to the Patriarchal power, and that he [Adams] had had revelations concerning his departure. The Prophet Joseph spoke at his funeral.]

President George Q. Cannon also spoke on the law of tithing. Among other things, said, “There are those in this audience who are descendants of the old Twelve Apostles - and, shall I say it, yes, descendants of the Savior himself. His seed is represented in this body of men.”

His [Heber’s], also, was of the Savior’s lineage; in his heart a kindred spirit, in his
veins the self-same blood.

  1. I believe this doctrine. What I am not sure of, however, is the patriarchal blessing of one of my ancestors who was told "You are a literal descendant of Israel through the loins of Jesus Christ who was sold into Egypt." Misspoken reference to Joseph or was Patriarch Waddoups referring to Christ's flight into Egypt as an infant?

  2. You can request a second patriarchal blessing, specificly asking for clarification of that part. Many people for one reason or another get another one.

  3. I, too, can testify of this TRUTH. I heard it first hand given by two high priests via a blessing. The blessing paused, the other prompted the one pronouncing the blessing, "it's alright, you can say it out loud, it's true......" then the next words spoken were, "the literal blood and DNA of Jesus Christ runs through your veins."

In the book, Dynasty of the Holy Grail, there is an account of Joseph F. Smith being asked by a missionary in the Salt Lake Temple if Jesus Christ was married. President Smith replied, "Yes! We don't publicize it but YES, Jesus Christ was married." (going off of memory from the book. It was a library book I checked out).

But again, if one believes the Church to be true then one knows Jesus Christ fulfilled the Everlasting Covenant of eternal marriage to enter the highest kingdom of God for neither is the man without the woman nor the woman without the man.

"I came unto mine own and mine own received me not..........." Really makes you stop and put that into a different context when you know the above is literally true.
