Classic 80s rock and roll.
These guys are pretty clean - no drugs and dysfunctional personal lives. I would actually pay money to see them some time.
Enjoy!

Ummmmm, I saw them in a concert. Kevin Cronan made the comment that he wrote his best songs while "thinkin' and drinkin'". And I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to Country Time Lemonade bro'.
ReplyDeleteThat aside, their High Infidelity record album deserves golden honors in the hall of fame for 80's music. Everyone in high school wore this cassette out! Gary Richrath's guitar playing in "Don't let him go" is off the charts.
Thanks for the memory lane moment.
I meant to say Hi-Infidelity for the title of their album. Also, sadly the trip down memory lane just revealed that guitarist Gary Richrath passed away last year at age 65 days after abdominal surgery. It was his band to begin with and he discovered Kevin, then 19, in 1972 and asked him to join the band. They wrote most of the songs together and the rest is history.
ReplyDeleteMega talent gone all to soon, just like the lead singer from Boston who took his life due to long time depression. What a voice! The long intro to "Long Time" is hands down the best drum playing I've ever heard in my life and then his guitar playing comes in that takes over. Totally wow! moment. Do nothing but listen to the drums in that intro and you'll see what I mean. And what's even cooler is that all of these guys had Master's degrees in various subjects. Teachers start a band....lol!
After the 80's music seemed to take a dive and has never been the same. Look at the Eagles. NONE of their fantastic songs sound the same. In a class all by themselves and no band can compare. Joe Walsh's guitar playing in "Already Gone" is legend. He said it's the hardest song he's ever had to play.
Ok, this rock and roll trivia junkie will shut up now! LOL
OH MY GOSH! Someone did the same thing with the vocals only for "Long Time" with Brad Delp. They were able to turn down the music and leave his voice in the forefront. Whoa! The man could've sold records without instruments at all! No kidding! Total tour de force. For anyone who likes Boston, this will be a feast for the ears.
