This story is a fantastic illustration of how we can be deceived. If every in a YM/YW organization again, I will use this object lesson. Very powerful:

ReplyDeleteJulie Rowe needs everyone's prayers. She spoke at WSU yesterday and Monday. I have never seen her speak before so I don't know how she normally is but it was very off. It seemed like a physical, emotional and mental breakdown. She had a two-hour speaking time for both days and thousands of people had come to hear her talk about her book. For some reason she decided not to talk about it at all. The first 45 minutes she delayed by asking the audience to sing hymns, then she asked random people to come up and speak about whatever they felt impressed to speak about. Many in the audience were upset by this and began walking out. They gathered in the halls to complain. Periodically she left for the bathroom where some said she was violently ill and hunched over the toilet. When she finally did get up to speak, her words were all over the place and did not make sense. It was just random things she spoke about. She said she was glad that half the audience left because she could feel people there with bad intentions and it was her idea to stall her speaking so they would be bothered and leave. At that point she decided to do her Q&A and many of the questions she couldn't answer and the others were either three-word answers or the answer was sidetracked from the question. I felt bad for her. She mentioned several times how ill she was and how strong the adversary was working on her in that moment. It distracted her from her speaking several times. Her behavior was very interesting such as nervous pacing and slurred words. She mentioned the adversary's voice shouting in her left ear throughout her time on stage. Her publisher and distributor where there and they said they were very concerned for her and said she hadn't been herself for about a week. When it was all said and done she came over to her book signing table and began to sob and many gathered around her and hugged her. Her publisher mentioned that they had helped her and she would be fine now (maybe they gave her a blessing). Many were very concerned for her and others were very angry, disappointed and lost their faith in her. I think she needs prayers at this time.
ReplyDeleteI also want to add that someone told the event planner that they saw angels around the stage guarding Julie while she was up there. In the middle of speaking time, the event planner came up on the stage and asked everyone to pray for the room to be protected from the adversary because his presence was so strong for Julie. Many believe that his effect was so powerful on her that she was afraid to talk about what she came there to talk about and that's why she delayed everything and rambled about random things. I think she is in the process of moving right now too, and very overwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteHow unfortunate. I am sure she and her family will be very happy once she's done with all of this public speaking. I couldn't imagine the stress it must put on her.
