Coptic Christians believed that the devil and Jesus were brothers of a common Heavenly Father. I cannot name how much grief I have taken over my belief in this. The ex-mos love to go to town on this LDS belief. Same thing of the groups my lead at work belongs to.
Fascinating little details:
Brigham Young would cry "shenanigans." He implied that Adam was the spirit brother of Lucifer. Even the Egyptians understood that Osiris (Adam) and Seth (Lucifer) were brothers, not Seth and Horus (Jesus). Horus was Osiris's son.
ReplyDeleteSo cool! So the guy in the video would be my cousin twice removed...I think. When Milton Hunter gave the collection to the LDS church he had his daughter (my aunt) and her husband, another aunt and uncle of mine and my grandparents come the the church office building to see the collection. While there they got to see many other artifacts that were in storage too. I grew up hearing stories from my uncles about some of the stuff from this collection and other items they saw while there. Very interesting stuff.
