EXCELLENT SLIDE ON THE RABBI BEN SAMUEL PROPHECY

This is a very nice visual.  I also happen to like the seven year addition on the end of it.  for nearly the past seven years, man has poured out his worst.  The next seven?  God's turn - He will preach from the heavens.  I would rather have the last seven, over the coming seven.

Enjoy!

  1. This is very interesting but the end of the Jubilee year is October 3, 2016 not 2017.

  2. While this "prophesy" is interesting, it is also interesting to note that it seems to have appeared in 2008, and there is uncertainty about any legitimate original sources for the prophesy. It was attributed to a German rabbi named Ben Samuel, who lived from 1140 to 1217, but it was apparently first revealed in a 2008 article of Israel Today. It's not even certain who supposedly translated the prophesy.

First, I am not saying things do not occur in cycles, because I'd be wrong. Certainly there are regular cycles. 7-year cycles are very common.

While the authenticity of this "prophesy" can be debated, my real question is the timings of the Jubilees.

According to the scriptures, the Jubilee is celebrated in the 50th year, or in the year after the seventh seven-year period. So, does the next seven year period begin the year after the Jubilee year, or is the Jubilee year also the first year of the next seven year period?

From what I've been able to discover, the Jubilee year is both the first year of the next seven-year period, and it is the 50th year since the beginning of the previous seven seven-year periods (or seven weeks of years). Kind of like having a holiday on a Monday. The holiday doesn't change when the days of the week start, it just provides for an additional celebration.

This is where Jubilees get confusing, because they are celebrated in the 50th year, but Jubilees actually occur 49 years apart.

Based on this 10 Jubilees would actually be 490 years, not 500. Eight Jubilees, as claimed from 1517 to 1917, would not be 400 years but should be 392 years.

While we know when the Jews currently celebrate a Sabbath year, we do not know if it is actually what should be the Sabbath year (I mentioned this in a comment to another post). Additionally, they have never celebrated a Jubilee year, so we don't know when an actual Jubilee year should be.

Since the Law of Moses was a type for bringing the Jews to Christ, it would make sense if the Jubilee was also symbolic of Christ. Taking that view, it would make sense that the Lord was either born in a Jubilee year, or he made his Infinite Atonement in a Jubilee year. In any case, it is through the Lord and his atonement that all the slaves, and captives, are made free and we are restored to be able to return to our Father in Heaven.

Using the Lord's birth as a starting point (and my rough calculations), the last Jubilee would've been in 2009, and the next in 2058. With his atonement as a Jubilee year, 1993 was the last Jubilee year and the next would be 2042.

That said, we are living in the last days. The years of tribulation are coming. When is not certain, but it is also really not important if we are prepared both spiritually and physically. It is intriguing to try to figure out when things will happen, but we need to not be set on specific time frames as our faith may be tested if things don't happen when we expect them to. It is our faith and trust in God that will see us through, no matter what happens or when.
