A scholar that you have revered earlier said this:
"Nine red heifer sacrifices before Christ went into Gethsemane. While our Jewish and Protestant friends await the sacrifice of yet one more red heifer, LDS have some knowledge to share. Jesus Christ was the tenth and last Red Heifer sacrifice. The great Jewish codifier and scholar, Moshe Ben-Maimon or Moses Maimonides (A.D. 1135-1204) enigmatically recounts in his commentary on the Mishna that in Jewish tradition, '...and the tenth red heifer will be accomplished by the king, the Messiah'. Thus Jesus was the tenth, if we don't count the 68/70 AD sacrifice. The last red heifer sacrifice -- was Jesus Christ Himself. The ashes for the End-Time and the rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple will be provided from this sacrifice of the Savior at Gethsemane, not from some genetically engineered red calf. While the Protestants and Jews await another red heifer we proclaim that it has already been sacrificed: (read Alma 34:13-14). So Jesus, who is our Passover Lamb sacrifice, is also in a certain sense our Red Heifer sacrifice, slain before the foundation of the world. With these two offerings of Himself, at the Meridian of Time, blood sacrifices were done away with.". Hope this puts your mind at ease.
Here is something else that really caught my attention when it comes to families going to the Temple - each family was sprinkled with this "red heifer" water before going onto Temple Mount to present their sacrifice:
PASSOVER PILGRIMAGE PREPARATIONS
After the young kohanim have brought a stone vessel containing the pure 'living waters' from the Shiloach spring up to the Holy Temple, an adult kohen pours the water into another stone vessel along with a small amount of the ashes from the red heifer, creating the sought after purifying solution.
