Why do I post this stuff?? Because we NEED to understand the culture of the Jews if we are to understand the hidden meaning of the words that they wrote. We need to understand their festivals and their calendars, if we are to correctly know the "times and seasons" of the Lord's final acts in this final few minutes of this final dispensation.
RITUAL BATHS (MIKVAOT) OF JERUSALEM
In the days leading up to the Passover festival in the Holy Temple, the mikvaot (ritual baths) of Jerusalem were in full use. They were designed in such a way so that impure vessels could be brought in via one entrance. After they were immersed in the ritual bath and made pure, they would then be carried out via a separate exit.
The picture shows a man carrying in impure vessels through the door on the right, while others await their turn to immerse their vessels. Already immersed and purified vessels can be seen drying on a towel at the foot of the stair on the left, while a woman who has already immersed, purified and dried her vessels, exits on the left.
