We are slaves to the system.
This is a very insightful quote about the current system we have:
"President Howard W. Hunter taught us what happens when those that have "the abundance of the earth" (riches), and those in need do not live according to the Lords way of providing when he said, "If a man will not recognize the inequalities around him and voluntarily, through the gospel plan, come to the aid of his brother, he will find that through "a democratic process" he will be forced to come to the aid of his brother. The government will take from the "haves" and give to the "have nots." Both have lost their freedom.
Those who "have", lost their freedom to give voluntarily of their own free will and in the way they desire. Those who "have not", lost their freedom because they did not earn what they received. They got "something for nothing", and they will neither appreciate the gift nor the giver of the gift. Under this climate, people gradually become blind to what has happened and to the vital freedoms which they have lost"
How very true! I heard on the news the other day that the average American pays more in taxes than they do on essential living expenses (basic necessities.). This is incredibly ridiculous, but, indeed a correct statement. With the price of gasoline and food rising, now the penalty in effect for next year, which is really a tax, for those without insurance because of that stupid Obamacare it is a wonder we can survive at all!!! I'm sure before much longer they will think of same other way to rape, pillage and rob us blind.

ReplyDeleteAnd yet when people fail to make good decisions, it shouldn't be that way under the Constitution:
ReplyDelete"if we think [individuals] not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power." --Thomas Jefferson to William C. Jarvis, 1820. ME 15:278
