THE FIRST JEWISH GOVERNOR OF UTAH

I thought this was a fascinating story of how the LDS have always loved the fellows of the House of Israel:

The Jewish "Yentile" Governor of Utah

Simon Bamberger was one of the most successful Jewish "Gentiles" in the early history of Utah.

In 1916, Simon Bamberger ran for the office of governor of the state of Utah. Bamberger was the first non-Mormon, the first Democrat, and the only Jew ever to seek that office. During the campaign, Bamberger visited a remote community in Southern Utah that had been settled by immigrant Norwegian converts to Mormonism. According to historian Leon Watters, the community’s leader, a towering Norwegian, met Bamberger at the train and told him menacingly, "You might yust as vell go right back vere you come from. If you tink ve let any damn Yentile speak in our meeting house, yure mistaken." Bamberger is said to have replied, "As a Jew, I have been called many a bad name, but this is first time in my life I have been called a damned Gentile!" The Norwegian threw his arm around Bamberger and proclaimed, "You a Yew, an Israelite. Hear him men, he’s not a Yentile, he’s a Yew, an Israelite. Velcome my friend; velcome, our next governor." The Norwegian was correct; Bamberger won the election.

From the founding of their religion in 1830, Mormons (or Latter-Day Saints, as they are named) have respected Judaism as a religion. Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, proclaimed that "Lehi, a prophet of the tribe of Manasseh . . . led his tribe out of Jerusalem in the year 600 BC to the coast of America." The tenth "Article of Faith" of Mormonism proclaims, "We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion will be built upon this (the American) continent." In Mormon metaphor, the Utah desert was a latter-day Zion, and the Great Salt Lake a latter-day Dead Sea. The Mormons who settled there under Brigham Young’s leadership were, in their own minds, direct descendants of the ancient Hebrews. Accordingly, the early Mormons referred to all non-Mormons--regardless of their religion--as "Gentiles." Watters observes, "Utah is the only place in the world where Jews are Gentiles."

The pioneer Jews of Utah fared well under the Mormon majority. Because Mormon doctrine proclaimed agrarian pursuits the only respectable calling and commerce morally corrupting, the role of shopkeeper, banker, and businessman were left to Utah’s Jews and other Gentiles. In early Utah, Jews and Mormons lived in symbiotic, commercial harmony.

Born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, in 1846, he emigrated to America at age 14 in search of his fortune. After spending a few days in New York, the young Bamberger departed by train for Cincinnati. He fell asleep and missed his transfer at Columbus, Ohio. Instead, he disembarked in Indianapolis, where he had a cousin. After working in Indianapolis until the Civil War ended, Simon and his bother Herman, who migrated to the United States after Simon, moved to St. Louis and became clothing manufacturers. On a trip to Wyoming to collect a debt, Simon learned that the business had failed. He decided to travel on to Utah as, in his own words, he "had no other objective in view" and few prospects back in St. Louis.

The enterprising Bamberger purchased a half interest in a small hotel in Ogden, Utah. In Bamberger’s own words, "Soon thereafter an epidemic of smallpox broke out and the Union Pacific passengers were not permitted to come up to the town, so I gave up. I took the Utah Central to Salt Lake and there bought the ‘Delmonico Hotel’ . . . and renamed it the ‘White House’ in partnership with B. Cohen, of Ogden." The hotel flourished.
In 1872, Bamberger purchased an interest in a silver mine which, by 1874, made him wealthy enough to retire. However, the pioneering spirit was too strong in Bamberger to allow him to rest. Two years later, he raised a million dollars to construct a railroad to some coal mines in northern Utah in which he had invested. Bamberger then built a second rail line to some small towns on the outskirts of Salt Lake City. Railroad competition was fierce, however, and Bamberger lost much of his fortune in the effort.

In 1910, Bamberger helped establish a Jewish agricultural colony in Clarion, Utah, and remained one of its most ardent supporters. In 1913 and again in 1915, when the immigrant Jewish farmers became bankrupt, Bamberger traveled east to raise funds to pay off their debts. His efforts could not save the colony, however, and it folded in 1915.

His Mormon friends noted Bamberger’s civic mindedness and urged him to run for governor. Despite being a Democrat, Bamberger’s policies paralleled those of Teddy Roosevelt and the Progressives. He insisted that the legislature balance the state budget, create a public utilities commission to regulate the price of electricity and gas, and ban gifts from utility companies to public officials. He passed a modified line-item budget veto; created a state department of public health; instituted water conservation; and advocated for a lengthened school year, workers’ compensation, the rights of unions, and the non-partisan election of judges. Bamberger, a teetotaler, supported prohibition. He saw most of his platform voted into law.

Bamberger died in 1926 and is buried in the cemetery of Congregation B’nai Israel, the first synagogue in Salt Lake City. Of course, he’s buried in the "Yentile" section.

THE DESCENDANTS OF JACOB SHALL TEAR THEM TO PIECES

I have to say, I have long looked at this prophecy in the Book of Mormon as one of the most difficult to fulfill - looking at the historical state of the native American tribes.  It has just seemed so improbable - until lately, as our nation seems to be rife with division and problems and we are now ready for the judgments of God to descend upon us:

REMNANT SHALL TEAR THEM TO PIECES

I know that the Book of Mormon (and all her prophecies) shall be fulfilled ever jot and every tittle.  The verse above was written by Moroni who had just witnessed his entire people being mowed down by the vengeful Lamanites (in what is never spoken of in polite circles of as a race war of total annihilation).   He read the prophecies of 3rd Nephi that the Savior had uttered - and said that those very same things would happen to us in our day - the same that had happened in his day when those chosen ones let go of the iron rod, etc..

And I know that this individual saw our day - the second Civil War that is coming which will lead to the remnant of Jacob being able to mow down the weak and the wicked who have lost their spiritual and physical strength.  The wicked will kill the wicked at that point.  Looking at the gang problem in LA and the angst of the members of La Raza and those who desire Atzlan, it will be a horror for those who have to deal with them who have not been safely gathered out.  They will be vicious.  The righteous descendants of Jacob (Manasseh) who have chosen the Lord as their guide, of course, will be a boon to the Saints and will largely be responsible for building up the New Jerusalem. The wicked, however, will be relentless and bloody in their race war of total annihilation once again.

Having read the prophecies of what is coming, those who have gathered to safety in the mountains will be afflicted, as well, by the gangs who will prowl like wolves picking off the weak and unprotected.  The laws set down by people at that time will have to be "zero tolerance" towards gang activity, looting, etc, or they will be over-run by those of gadiantonesque behavior.   Summary executions will be the norm until things stabilize once again and Zion begins to flower and prosper after the initial destructions and purgings have passed.

Here is the prophecy that I have been alluding to:

Millennial Star:
This generation shall be visited by an overflowing scourge. Of the precise nature of it we are not informed. It shall pass over the nations night and day. The affect of this visitation will be so direful and calamitous that the reports of its terrible ravages will fill all people with vexation. The operations of this fear-inspiring and destructive agent will continue until the appearance of the Lord in his glory.
Some of the judgment are definite as to locality. As an instance may be cited the approaching disruption of the Unites States of America. One of the horrors announced by the prophet upon that nation is now a matter of history the war of the Rebellion. Another and more appalling condition awaits that ill-fated people. It shall fall upon them like the visitation of a whirlwind, sweeping the country like a mighty flood. The populace will be divided into innumerable factions, and blood, carnage and woe will be rampant among them, filling the hearts of the more peacefully disposed with fear and dismay. Many will laugh at such a prediction, but, unless the people repent, it will come as surely as night follows day. Weakened and powerless from internal broils and disturbances, the nation will become a prey to the remnants left of the aboriginal inhabitants, who will be filled with vengeful rage at the wrongs that have been perpetrated upon them and furiously spread destruction in every direction. 13 Sept., 1880, p. 584-587. 

This should not strike fear in your heart - fear is not of God.  It should however, empower you to make the necessary changes in your life in order to be ready to face what comes shortly.

ISRAEL IS COMING HOME

Folks - an Apostle of the Lord dedicated that land for the return of Judah and other remnants in 1844 when there were just a handful of original descendants in the land; and now its coming about in the Lord's way.  Only a person blinded to the glory of God's plan; or someone ignorant of the facts would not be able to see this:

ORSON HYDE - FIRST JEWISH ADHERENT AND FAITHFUL SAINT

I have to say I am totally impressed with Orson's life. He spent time with some of the best early leaders in the Church - what an enviable life!:

ORSON HYDE (1805-1878)


This is the modern Apostle who was assigned by direct revelation to dedicate Palestine for the return of the Jews and the other tribes of Israel.
Orson Hyde was born January 8, 1805, in Oxford, Conn. His mother died when he was age 7 and he was therefore raised by Nathan Wheeler until he was 18 years of age.

Striking out on his own, he reached Kirtland, Ohio, where Sidney Rigdon converted him to the Campbellite Church. Orson became a diligent worker and an intense student of the scriptures and was therefore made a "pastor" in 1830. When he first read the Book of Mormon he preached against it, but feeling he had done something terribly wrong, he decided to study it more thoroughly. He was further shaken when he learned his friend, Sidney Rigdon, had become a "Mormon." After an intensive investigation, Orson Hyde was baptized by Sidney Rigdon and confirmed by Joseph Smith in the fall of 1831. During the confirmation Orson Hyde was told that one day he would dedicate the Holy Land for the return of Israel. He was ordained a High Priest in 1831 and immediately started out on several tremendously successful missions, traveling without purse or scrip. His companions on these various missions included such outstanding men as Hyrum Smith, Samuel H. Smith, Parley P. Pratt, and Orson Pratt.

In 1835, Orson was ordained one of the first Apostles in this dispensation. In 1837, he went with the other Apostles to England where they converted and baptized 1,500 people in one year. In 1840, he was sent on his mission to Palestine. His companion abandoned him, but he went on alone and, after much privation and suffering, dedicated that land on October 24, 1841. Upon returning home, he was evicted with his family from Nauvoo, and was asked by the Church leaders to leave his family with friends on the frontier while he went to England to set the Church in order there.

When Orson returned from England he was placed in charge of the way station at Winter Quarters (later Kanesville) and did not move to the mountains himself until 1852. Upon arrival in the mountains, he was instructed to take a company to settle Fort Supply, Wyoming. In 1855 he was given a company to open up Carson Valley, Nevada. Then he was placed in charge of the settlement in San Pete County, Utah. He made his home in Spring City, helped build the Manti Temple, served in the legislative assembly, and died at Spring City on November 28, 1878.

With his mission completed, Orson Hyde made his way slowly back to America and thence to Nauvoo. When Joseph Smith received Orson Hyde's report he was highly pleased. The tiny acorn had been planted for the gathering and growing of a mighty oak of Judah.

In 1845, following the death of Joseph Smith, the Quorum of the Twelve issued a proclamation to all the world.1 After bearing witness of the restoration of the Gospel, the proclamation read:

"And we further testify that the Jews among all nations are hereby commanded, in the name of the Messiah, to prepare to return to Jerusalem in Palestine, and to rebuild that city and temple unto the Lord.

"And also to organize and establish their own political government under their own rulers, judges, and governors, in that country.

"Be it known unto them that we now hold the keys of the Priesthood and kingdom which are soon to be restored unto them. Therefore, let them also repent, and prepare to obey the ordinances of God."

This Apostolic proclamation warned the rulers of nations that they must not "stand as idle and disinterested spectators" but help expedite the work of the Lord in the latter days and thereby reap a great blessing. They were told that they would "either be led by the good spirit to cast in your lot, and to take a lively interest with the Saints of the Most High, and the covenant people of the Lord; or on the other hand, you will become their inveterate enemy, and oppose them of every means in your power."

The proclamation then continued:

"To such an extreme will this great division finally extend, that the nations of the Old World will combine to oppose these things by military force. They will send a great army to Palestine against the Jews, and they will besiege their city, and will reduce the inhabitants of Jerusalem to the greatest extreme of distress and misery.

"Then will commence a struggle in which the fate of nations and empires will be suspended on a single battle.

"In this battle the governors and people of Judah will distinguish themselves for their bravery and warlike achievements. The weak among them will be like David and the strong among them will be like God or like the angel of the Lord.

"In that day the Lord will pour upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication and they shall look upon the Messiah whom they have pierced.

"For lo! he will descend from heaven as the defender of the Jews, and to complete their victory. His feet will stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which shall cleave asunder at his presence, and remove one half to the north, and the other to the south, thus forming a great valley where the mountain now stands.

"The earth will quake around him, while storm and tempest, hail and plague, are mingled with the clash of arms, the roar of artillery, the shouts of victory, and the groans of the wounded and dying.

"In that day, all who are in the siege, both against Judea and against Jerusalem, shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth should be gathered together against it.

"This signal victory on the part of the Jews so unlooked for by the nations, and attended with the personal advent of the Messiah and the accompanying events, will change the whole order of things in Europe and Asia, in regard to political and religious organization and government.

"The Jews as a nation become holy from that day forward, and their city and sanctuary become holy. There also the Messiah establishes his throne and seat of government.

"Jerusalem then becomes the seat of empire and the great center and capital of the world."

While all of this is transpiring, the Lord will have directed the building of the New Jerusalem in America. There Ephraim and Manasseh of the Tribe of Joseph will have their inheritance. The world will then be prepared for the Millennial reign with the house of Judah and house of Joseph combining their efforts to spread the Gospel and the government of the Lord to the four corners of the earth. Truly, in that day, "Ephraim shall not envy Judah and Judah shall not vex Ephraim."2

SOLOMONIC TEMPLE IN HAWAII

Well, there are few unmistakable things as you look around the world for similar cultural threads as common Jewish customs among the peoples of the earth. One that blew my mind was the similarity of a he'iau (temple platform CLICK LINK) found throughout the islands of Hawaii. These are clearly ceremonial places using by the ancient Hawaiian peoples to worship their diety according to a newly-arrived co-worker.

I mentioned something to him about an earlier experience I had blogged about where I found a temple platform out in the middle of a lava field that dropped my jaw. Here is a picture of what one looks like:

These have the three levels (courtyards) separating the outer, inner and holy of holies. This pattern is found all over including exact replicas of the foundation patterns of Solomon's Temple from the Gaza area all the way to the Americas. A marker of a people who wanted to leave their calling card to ends of the islands of the seas that they were driven to.

Truly fascinating stuff that surely feels at home in the Wood Zone.

GOD WILL HELP YOU FIGHT YOUR BATTLES IF YOUR CAUSE IS JUST

Here is an account of a contemporary and rather dramatic occurrence recounted at the April 1954 General Conference of the Mormon Church that could be attributed to the Three Nephites.

“A short time ago, when a committee was sent there [to Israel] by President Truman, they were told by Chaim Weizmann, the first president of Israel, that it was their belief in a mystical force that would return the Jews to the land of Israel, that had kept them alive.

In the Jewish Hope, of September 1950, was an article by Arthur U. Michelson. I will not take time to read it, but he tells of a visit he made to Jerusalem, when he heard the experience of the Jewish army. They had only one cannon, and were facing the Arabs with their well-trained and equipped army, and so when they used this cannon, they moved it from place to place so the enemy would think they had many, and every time the cannon was fired, they would beat tin cans in order to make a lot of noise so that the enemy would think they had many cannons. I want to read what he said about what happened when the armies of Israel were about to give up:

“One of the officials has told me how much the Jews had to suffer. They had hardly anything with which to resist the heavy attacks of the Arabs who were well organized and equipped with the latest weapons. Besides, they had neither food nor water, because all their supplies were cut off.

“At this critical moment, God showed them that he was on their side, for he performed one of the greatest miracles that ever happened. The Arabs suddenly threw down their arms and surrendered. When their delegation appeared with the white flag, they asked, ‘Where are the three men and where are all the troops we saw?’ The Jews told them that they did not know anything of the three men, for this group was their entire force. The Arabs said that they saw three persons, with long beards and flowing white robes who warned them not to fight any longer, otherwise they would all be killed. They became so frightened that they decided to give up. What an encouragement this was for the Jews to realize that God was fighting for them.

“And then he told about another case when one man with a white robe and a long beard appeared, and they all saw him, and they gave up their arms. Now I do not know, but the Lord said that he would do something for the Jews in the latter days, and when he permitted the Three Nephites to tarry upon this land, he said:

“And behold they will be among the Gentiles, and the Gentiles shall know them not. They will also be among the Jews, and the Jews shall know them not. And it shall come to pass, when the lord seeth fit in his wisdom that they shall minister unto all the scattered tribes of Israel, and unto all nations, kindreds, tongues and people, and shall bring out of them unto Jesus many souls, that their desire may be fulfilled, and also because of the convincing power of God which is in them. (3 Ne. 28:27-29.)” (Elder Legrand Richards, Conference Report, April 1954, Afternoon Meeting, p.55-56)

We may add the words of Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Mormon Church today, so said,

“These three Nephites continue in their translated state today, just as when they went throughout the lands of Nephi. At one point Mormon was about to reveal their names to his latter-day readers, but he was forbidden by the Lord from doing so. Nevertheless, these three ministered to Mormon and Moroni, and they are yet ministering to Jew, Gentile, and the scattered tribes of Israel, even all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people. (Jeffrey R. Holland, Christ and the New Covenant: The Messianic Message of the Book of Mormon, p.307)

DESIRE TO DESTROY TEL-AVIV - PARALLELS TO 9/11

So reading the following post gave rise to memories of what happened before Sept 11 at the WTC. Most people would be hard-pressed to remember that someone tried to bring the towers down using a land-based wheel design. Obviously they weren't good civil engineers - thus the dearly departed Mohammed Atta being one.....

So we have some people in Gaza that dearly hate the presence of Jews in them middle east and they are ranging their rockets for a shot at the financial center, Tel Aviv. They are getting ready to do a 9/11 style thing to the financial heart and symbol of power in Israel.

According to my previous post, a Hamas (Iran)-backed nuclear tipped missile will be fired on Israel (from a cornered or future radicalized Libyan gov't) which will ignite bad juju around the world (feel free to read up on it). The hyenas are circling their prey and they will try and make good on their previous threats. George Soros (who has backed our current president from the beginning) was involved in the fall of Egypt (Israel's only real middle east ally) and will be involved in the further destabilization of the middle east so that they will (as radicalized nations) march against his own people, the Israeli's. What a sick sack! If he had a heart attack tomorrow, I for one would be in a state of euphoria..... but then, this is not a political blog and I do love all my fellow man (some just slightly less than others) - so just ignore the above statements.

LIBYA LAUNCHING NUCLEAR MISSILE TOWARDS ISRAEL - BEGINNING OF WWIII

Considering what is going on in Libya, current events there concern me greatly. If this dog is cornered, he may do something rash if he has a Shahab missile from Iran parked somewhere. Hate to judge a guy by his pic, but that sack looks disgusting; evil incarnate....

Here are the words of Sarah Menet....the bolded text below being VERY TROUBLING INDEED!!!

As I tried to look away from my black surroundings, a small light started to shine in front of me, and the darkness, sounds and feelings that had so completely oppressed me started to fade into the background. The light grew bigger, and a window opened up much the same as when I had witnessed my life's review. This time however, a panoramic view of the entire earth lay before me. It came closer and closer as if I had been out in space and was flying toward it.

I knew what was happening was intended to help me make my decision about going back to the earth and my terrible life. A part of me wanted to go back to the beautiful spirit world, or paradise, that I had seen, and another part of me felt the need to be reunited with my body so I could change my life. It was a tug-of-war, and what I was about to see was to help me understand what I would be going through if I chose to go back to my 'body of clay.'

Again the view before me played out like a videotape in fast forward motion, and yet I could see the scene in perfect clarity and was able to comprehend everything that transpired. As the earth zoomed up into my view, I first saw the whole world, and then various countries. It was made clear to me that in the future there would be wars and troubles, including nuclear attacks in various places of the world, and a view of how it would start was given.

I am not familiar with the geography of the world, but as I looked a the various lands before my view I instinctively knew what countries they were. Looking at the Middle East, I watched as a missile flew from Libya and hit Israel. The mushroom cloud that resulted from the blast was visible, and I knew that the missile contained a nuclear bomb. I was aware that those responsible for the missile were Iranian, but the missile had been hidden and fired from within the borders of Libya.

Almost immediately after this, other missiles began flying from one country to another, quickly spreading war around the world. I also saw that many nuclear explosions did not come from missiles but from bombs of some kind on the ground.

My focus then changed from the Middle East to the United States, and I understood that I was about to see some of the things that would lead up to the nuclear holocaust that I had just witnessed.

As I looked upon the continent of North America, I zeroed in on the eastern coast and then on New York specifically. I saw New York City with all of its people and buildings. I then saw some tall buildings crashing to the earth surrounded by tremendous amounts of smoke, dust, and debris.

I zoomed in closer into the smoke and dust, and I saw a woman holding a little girl's hand and running from the crashing buildings. The woman had long dark hair, hanging past her shoulders and curled inward slightly. She wore a beige business suit, heels of a slightly darker color, perhaps tan, and she was not wearing glasses. The little girl appeared to be about 6 or 7 years old with short brown hair reaching below the chin and cut in a type of pageboy look. They ran together, holding hands and trying to escape from the falling buildings. As they ran through the heavy smoke and dust, they were forced to let go of their hands and became separated. The child was terrified, and I could hear her screaming, "Mommy, mommy!" over and over again.

I don't know their outcome, if they lived or died, but I can still see the face of the woman clearly and could easily identify her from a photo or describe her to a sketch artist. I asked if an earthquake had caused the buildings to fall and felt impressed that the answer was no. However, I was not given any indication as to the cause of the destruction. (Incidentally, I told this story many, many times before September 11, 2001. When I did see on television the World Trade Center towers collapsing, I knew that this was what I had seen.

Me personally, I am not terribly worried about the developments in Japan (although I did go rifle through my preps looking for them a few days ago just in case....), but I did have those distinct feelings two years ago to get my KI pills ordered and ready for my own family - and many others. The Spirit bore distinct witness that this preparation would save lives (of children) where the other less-critical items of the $40K I spent on preps were just window dressing, relatively speaking. I only stopped at 400 pills because I was running low on $$. There will be some things that will save lives (besides stored food that is not contaminated.....) when things become desperate - and those pills are among those items.

Heaven help us all!!

IRAN'S THREATS - CAN OR WILL THEY MAKE GOOD??

For the most part, I dismiss the likes of Castro, Chavez and Iran's leader (don't even care to learn his name....) because they are just too far into the freak zone.

One guy that really does make me uneasy is Iran's nutcase prez. Here is the article:

My concern is that we have statements from people like Sarah Menet who said 15 years ago that Iran would launch a nuke to Israel from Northern Africa (probably the Shahab 3 shown above - thanks N Korea and Russia....) and nail Tel Aviv (a rather worldly city - the Las Vegas of Israel). I do not doubt that as completely possible, given what has transpired in the last 15 years.

Time will tell - and I think prove her words correct.....

AND THE SCEPTRE SHALL NOT DEPART

My mother always told me fantastical stories of Israelitish history in the British Isles. It has always stuck with me and I used to spend hours poring over a genealogical chart that the LDS church made showing how you could trace your lineage back to Adam if you could break into a royal line of Europe (I will somehow try to post this massive chart at a later time). This is the most comprehensive site I have found that documents how the right of Judah to rule and reign has not departed. Enjoy the link. There is alot of info here.

Gen 49 is a crossroads of the Bible. Yet most people don't understand the implications of Jacob's actions in passing out the blessings and birthright before he dies. Jacob gives Joseph, and therefore his boys Ephraim and Manasseh, all the good stuff. Virtually the whole birthright. Jacob only keeps back the right to be king of the family and make it's governing laws. This means that although Joseph and his family will be the rich nobility of Israel, someone from Judah( a Jew) will be king.

When Joseph dies, the Tribe of Ephraim will be the pre-eminent tribe of the nation, but will accede to Judah in being king. As soon as Joseph dies in Egypt, some one from the tribe of Judah will take the rulership under Pharaoh. This person will be from the Zarah family of Judah; he was firstborn. Two hundred years after the secession of Judah from the nation Israel, Assyria conquers Samaria and deports the ten tribes(millions of them) to northern Mesopotamia. Most of them migrate to northwest europe and the British Isles over the next 17 centuries. But never fear, we still have a Judahite king in Jerusalem named Zedekiah. Oops! Here comes Nebuchadnezzor. He conquers Judah, kills Zedekiah's sons and carries Zedekiah and 95% of the people to Babylon. The line is cut!! What about David's promise now?

No problem. The Zarah line is ruling all across the northern Mediterranean. By this time they've got colonies in Spain, Ireland, and Britain. But the "throne of David" is not in those places. It is in Jerusalem. And the male bloodline has been cut! But not the FEMALE. God allowed the daughters to inherit when no male heirs were available. So Jeremiah takes the King's two daughters, and leaves for Ireland. He drops off one daughter in Spain and then marries the Pharez-Judah daughter of Zedekiah to the Zarah-Judah High King of Ireland. This final move sets things straight; the way God outlined them. Zarah is back on top. The "throne" is preserved. The resting place for Israel is being prepared for the arrival of the ten tribes as they begin to migrate across Europe.

Mystery on the Temple Mount during the Six Day War
Gershon Salomon is the leader of the Temple Mount Faithful (http://www.templemountfaithful.org/). Salomon is a 10th generation Jerusalemite, descended from Rabbi Avraham Zoref who settled in Jerusalem in 1811. Rabbi Zoref was one of the first Jewish pioneers to rebuild the waste lands of Judea. Gershon knew, even as a child, that he was called by God to follow in his ancestor's footsteps in the redemption of the land and people of Israel.

The goal of Salomon's organization, the Temple Mount Faithful, is the building of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. He believes that this must be done in his lifetime in accordance with the Word of God and all the Hebrew prophets. The Temple Mount Faithful seek the liberation of the Temple Mount from Arab (Islamic) occupation so that it may be consecrated to the Name of God once more.

Even as a child, Gershon Salomon knew that God was calling him to work for the redemption of the people of Israel. As a youth, Gershon was involved in the Israeli War of Independence. He was arrested at age 11 by the British Mandatory police.

Later, after he had joined the IDF, he led a company in the Golan Heights. In a battle with the Syrian Army in 1958, Salomon was accidentally injured when, in the heat and confusion of battle, he was run over by a tank. Syrian soldiers, trained to shoot "again" any wounded Israeli soldiers, came toward him to finish him off. However, before they were able to shoot Salomon, they all suddenly fled. Later these Syrians soldiers reported to UN officers that they had seen thousands of angels around this IDF officer and had run away.

It was at this time that Salomon heard the voice of God telling him that He was not finished with him. Salomon understood this as a divine call to consecrate himself to the work of God regarding the Temple Mount.

After one year in the hospital, Mr. Salomon had recovered sufficiently to return to his unit even though he now walked on crutches. He continued his service in defense of the land of Israel. He feels that the greatest moment of his life to this point was his participation in the liberation of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount during the Six Day War in June 1967.

Ammunition Hill is about three miles from the Temple Mount. This hill was the site of one of the most critical battles in the liberation of Jerusalem in the Six Day War of 1967. Ammunition Hill was the most important fortification of the Jordanian army. The whole hill was one big bunker.

It was a heroic battle as the Israeli army fought bravely against the Arab soldiers who tried to prevent them from liberating Jerusalem. The battle was from bunker to bunker; 170 Israeli soldiers fell during the battle in this area. This heroic battle opened the way to Jerusalem. However they still had to fight through the Lion Gate of the old city and the Tribe Gates onto the Temple Mount itself. Many more Israeli soldiers sacrificed their lives on their way to the Temple Mount and again near the walls of the Old City and the Lion Gate.

When the first Israeli tank smashed through the Lion Gate, the way to the Temple Mount was opened through the Tribes Gate (named after the twelve Israelite tribes). Once through the Arab soldiers, the Israelis ran excitedly to the rock of Abraham and Isaac on the Temple Mount. This is considered to be the place of the First and Second Temples and the Holy of Holies.

Gershon Salomon had the privilege of being with the first Israeli parachute battalion to arrive on the Temple Mount. Few know that a supernatural event took place at this time. Here is how it is described in a recent Temple Mount Faithful report:

On the day of the liberation of the Temple Mount during the Six Day War of 1967, a mysterious event occurred. As Gershon Salomon and the soldiers were walking on the Temple Mount, someone dressed in civilian clothing suddenly appeared. He approached the group speaking English and told them that he had come to show them the location of the Temple and its complex on the Temple Mount. He immediately took the group back to the Dome of the Rock, where they stood shortly before with tears in their eyes at the moment of the liberation. He showed the group the site of their Temple, the rock of Abraham and Isaac and the Holy of Holies, the altar, and the Cave of the Spirits. He also explained the function of every place in the Temple complex. He was very excited when he spoke to them and repeatedly blessed the group for the godly liberation of the Temple Mount, as he put it. He told the group that they should immediately rebuild the Temple because that is why G-d had brought Israel back to the Temple Mount with such a great victory.
The group asked the man who he was, and he replied that he was an Arab guide for the Temple Mount. However, he did not look like either an Arab or a guide. The group asked him why he had not spoken about the history of Arab occupation on the Temple Mount. He said that he had been sent by G-d to tell the group that the history of the Arab occupation of the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, and all the land had passed away forever; it was time to rebuild the Temple in the same location as the First and Second Temples, which he had indicated that day. All this was told to all the Arabs and Moslems by their elders and was even written in their holy books. They knew that one day, in G-d's timing, it would come to pass and that time had arrived so Israel should do what G-d was expecting her to do and G-d would be with her as He always was and also had been in the victory which He had just given her.

When the stranger finished speaking, he suddenly disappeared as if he had been blown away by a wind; he was not seen again. All the group were sure that this mysterious "person" was an angel sent by G-d to tell Israel that He was expecting her to immediately rebuild the Temple, to renew the days of Israel as it was in the Biblical times, and to open the door for the coming of Mashiach ben David. Gershon will never forget this event.

Unfortunately, Moshe Dayan, the defense minister of Israel in 1967, made a terrible decision. Very shortly after their great victory, he returned control of the Temple Mount to the Moslem authorities of Jerusalem. Since that time, Moslem Arabs have maintained control of this crucial biblical site.

Gershon Salomon recognized the tragedy of this action and formed the Temple Mount Faithful organization. Since then he has dedicated himself to the vision of consecrating the Temple Mount to the Name of God, to removing the Moslem shrines placed there as a symbol of Moslem conquest, and to rebuilding the Third Temple.

However, he has constantly been thwarted from doing so by the Israeli government. Just as they did thousands of years ago, when they refused to go forward and take the land of Canaan (Num. 13-14), the Israelis have not had the courage to follow God's instructions and rebuild the Temple.

It has been 37 1/2 years since the Temple Mount once again came into Israeli possession. If you know anything about biblical numbers, you probably know that 40 is the scriptural number of testing, trying and judgment.

Because of their unbelief and rebellion after the spies had given a bad report about the land, Israel spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness after coming out of Egypt. Of that generation that left Egypt, only Joshua and Caleb were judged worthy to enter the Promised Land.

Earlier, the inhabitants of the earth had been judged due to their wickedness. They had 40 days and nights worth of rain poured out upon them. Only 8 souls lived through that judgment.

Moses spent 40 days and nights fasting as God gave him the Law on Mount Sinai. Coming down from the mountain and finding the Israelites committing idolatry with the golden calf, he broke the two stone tablets and had 3,000 of the sinning Israelites killed by the Levites. Moses then had to spend another 40 days and nights on Mount Sinai fasting and begging God not to annihilate the Israelites for their sin with the golden calf.

Goliath challenged the armies of Israel for 40 days. He was then judged and killed by a lad named David.

God, through the prophet Jonah, gave Ninevah 40 days to repent of their evil or be destroyed. Unlike most other biblical examples, the Ninevites repented and were spared. Had they not done so, God's judgment surely would have fallen upon them.

Yeshua fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and nights. During that time, he was tempted by the devil. He overcame that time of trial and was judged worthy because of his triumph.

The Jewish nation was given 40 years after the crucifixion and resurrection of Yeshua in 30 AD to accept their Messiah. After they failed to do so by the end of that time period, God brought the Romans upon them in 70 AD to destroy Jerusalem and the second Temple.

If it truly was an angel of God that spoke to the men on the Temple Mount on June 7, 1967, then I believe the Jews have been given 40 years to do what God told them to do (i.e., rebuild the Temple). That time is rapidly coming to a close, and it does not appear that they will do what they were instructed to do.

While in Babylonian captivity, the prophet Ezekiel was instructed to make penance for 40 years worth of Judah's sins:

EZEKIEL 4:6 "And when you have completed them, lie again on your right side; then you shall bear the iniquity of the House of Judah forty days. I have laid on you a day for each year. 7 Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem; your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it." (NKJV)


Clearly this sin had happened previously. However, often we see prophetic patterns established and then later repeated (cf. Isa. 7:14-17). As wise king Solomon stated: "That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun" (Ecc. 1:9). Could it be that once again Judah's 40 years of sin and rebellion will lead to the seige of Jerusalem?

If God follows the same pattern He has established and used numerous times, the Jews will be judged for their lack of faithful obedience and punished. This punishment is spoken of prophetically by Zechariah:

ZECHARIAH 13:8 "And it shall come to pass in all the land," says the LORD, "that two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but one-third shall be left in it: 9 I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; and each one will say, 'The LORD is my God.' " (NKJV)


I believe the prophetic time spoken of when the nations will come against and conquer Jerusalem is fast approaching:

ZECHARIAH 14:1 Behold, the Day of the LORD is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (NKJV)


This could happen as soon as 2007, by my estimation. Those of you who haven't studied OT prophecy would be well served to look at these things so you can recognize them when they occur.
