"Brother Brown, can you give us some light and explanation of the fifth verse, page 386, of the Hymn Book, (HYMN No. 323, ENOCH, little pocket Hymn Book 1905), which speaks of the Ten Tribes of Israel on part of the earth which now forms another planet, according to the composer, Eliza R. Snow?" "Yes, sir, I think I can.–I think I can answer that question. Sister Eliza R. Snow, when visiting my grand parents, was asked by my grandmother: ‘Eliza, where did you get your idea about the Ten Lost Tribes being taken as you explained in your hymn on page 386 of the Hymn Book?’ She answered as follows, ‘Why, my husband , the Prophet Joseph told me about it.’"
"Have you any other information, Brother Brown, that your grandfather ever gave you as contained in any conversation with the Prophet Joseph?"
"Yes I have. —One evening in Nauvoo, just after dark, somebody rapped at my grandfather’s door very vigorously. Grandfather was reading the Doctrine and Covenants, which he laid aside, arose hastily, and answered the door. There he met the Prophet Joseph Smith who said, ‘Brother Brown, can you keep me over night ? The mobs are after me.’
"Grandfather answered, ‘Yes sir. It will not be the first time. Come in.’
" ‘All right, ‘said the Prophet, shutting the door quickly. He came in and sat down."
"Grandmother said, ‘Brother Joseph, have you had your supper?’
" ‘No,’ he answered, ‘I have not.’ So she prepared a meal for him , and he ate it."

" ‘Then he added, ‘In consequence of this great portion being taken away, it naturally threw the earth out of balance. Now when it comes back, and also the planet on which the Lost Tribes are, the earth will receive its equilibrium and revolve as it naturally was in the very beginning.’

"Brother Call, you have heard the statements of Patriarch Brown concerning the Ten Tribes of Israel being upon another planet besides this earth. Can you give us any corroborative evidence of this statement as made by Brother Brown from any of your recollections that as a boy you were told by your father or others?"
"Yes, my father, Anson Call, was a particular friend of the Prophet Joseph. I have heard him say on a number of occasions that the Prophet Joseph told him in company with others, that the Ten Tribes of Israel were on a portion of this earth that had been taken away."

The particular place on the hill, where Moroni secreted his book, was revealed by the angel Moroni to the Prophet Joseph Smith, to whom the volume was delivered in September, A.D. 1827. But the grand depository of all of the numerous records of the ancient nations of the western continent was located in another department of the hill, and its contents under the charge of Holy Angels, until the day should come for them to be transferred to the sacred temple of Zion."

3.The Young Woman’s Journal, Vol. 3, No. 6, for march 1892. O. B. Huntington, Intimate associate of the Prophet Joseph, and an early day Patriarch of Springville, mentioned that the earth had two wings and drew them as semi-circles giving the earth the appearance of having polar elongations.
4.A Key To This Earth, by Matthew W. Dalton, 1906, Another intimate friend, and onetime bodyguard of the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Hon. The Ten Tribes are redeemed from their afflictions before the Jews, consequently they come first to Zion among the redeemed Saints, and partake with them in all the glory of Zion, until the Jews and Jerusalem shall also be redeemed, when they shall return to Jerusalem and receive their inheritance in the land of Palestine according to the divisions of that land in Ezekial’s prophecy, and become one nation with the Jews, in the land upon the mountains of Israel."

Where are the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel?
Orson F. Whitney ; " It is maintained by some that the Lost Tribes of Israel, —those carried into captivity about 725 B.C. ....are no longer a distinct people; that they exist only in a scattered condition, mixed with the nations among which they were taken by their captors, the conquering Assyrians.’ "If this be true , and those tribes were not intact at the time Joseph and Oliver received the keys of the gathering, why did they make so pointed a reference to ‘the leading of the Ten Tribes from the land of the north?’ This, too, after a general allusion to ‘the gathering of Israel from the four parts of the earth.’ What need to particularize as to the Ten Tribes , if they were no longer a distinct people? And why do our Articles of Faith give those Tribes a special mention?"

Smith in her " Recollections of the Prophet Joseph Smith", published in the Juvenile Instructor for June 1,1892 is the following: I heard him say "Peradventure, the Ten Tribes were not on this globe, but a portion of this earth cleaved off with them, went flying into space, and when the earth reels to and fro like a drunken man, and the stars from heaven fall, it would join on again.’"

"We are not here given to understand that all the stars will fall, or even many of them: but only as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs when she is shaken by the wind. The stars which will fall to the earth are fragments which have been broken off from the earth from time to time in the mighty convulsions of nature;----some in the days of Enoch;----some in the days of Peleg;----some with the Ten Tribes; and some with the death of Christ. These must all be restored again at the time of the restitution of all things."

3.The Young Woman’s Journal, Vol. 3, No. 6, for march 1892. O. B. Huntington, Intimate associate of the Prophet Joseph, and an early day Patriarch of Springville, mentioned that the earth had two wings and drew them as semi-circles giving the earth the appearance of having polar elongations.
4.A Key To This Earth, by Matthew W. Dalton, 1906, Another intimate friend, and onetime bodyguard of the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Hon. Philo Dibble of Springville, Utah, is said to have received a diagram from the Prophet in 1842, which indicated the arrangement of this earth as a triple planet, at the time when the Ten Tribes were directed to the northern sphere.
5.Interview of Homer Brown of the Forest Dale ward, Granite Stake, grandson of Benjamin Brown answered these questions. "Brother Brown, can you give us some light and explanation of the fifth verse, page 386, of the Hymn Book, (HYMN No. 323, ENOCH, little pocket Hymn Book 1905), which speaks of the Ten Tribes of Israel on part of the earth which now forms another planet, according to the composer, Eliza R. Snow?" "Yes, sir, I think I can.–I think I can answer that question. Sister Eliza R. Snow, when visiting my grand parents, was asked by my grandmother: ‘Eliza, where did you get your idea about the Ten Lost Tribes being taken as you explained in your hymn on page 386 of the Hymn Book?’ She answered as follows, ‘Why, my husband , the Prophet Joseph told me about it.’"
"Have you any other information, Brother Brown, that your grandfather ever gave you as contained in any conversation with the Prophet Joseph?"
"Yes I have. —One evening in Nauvoo, just after dark, somebody rapped at my grandfather’s door very vigorously. Grandfather was reading the Doctrine and Covenants, which he laid aside, arose hastily, and answered the door. There he met the Prophet Joseph Smith who said, ‘Brother Brown, can you keep me over night ? The mobs are after me.’
"Grandfather answered, ‘Yes sir. It will not be the first time. Come in.’
" ‘All right, ‘said the Prophet, shutting the door quickly. He came in and sat down."
"Grandmother said, ‘Brother Joseph, have you had your supper?’
" ‘No,’ he answered, ‘I have not.’ So she prepared a meal for him , and he ate it."
"Afterwards, they conversed relative to the principles of the Gospel, and during the conversation the Ten Tribes were mentioned. Grandfather said, where are the Ten Tribes?’
"He answered, come to the door and I will show you. Come on, Sister Brown, I want you both to see.’
"It being a starlight night, the Prophet said, ‘Brother Brown, can you show me the Polar Star?’
"Yes sir,’ he said , pointing to the North Star. ‘There it is.’
" ‘Yes I know , ‘said the Prophet, ‘but which one?’
"Then grandfather said, ‘Can you see the points of the Great Dipper?’
"The Prophet said, ‘Yes.’
" ‘Well, trace the pointers pointing up to the largest star. That is the North Star’
" ‘You are correct,’ the Prophet replied. ‘Now, do you discern a little twinkler to the right and below the Polar Star, which appears to be about 20 feet apart from here?’
"Grandfather answered, ‘Yes, sir.’
The Prophet said, ‘Sister Brown, do you see that star also?’
"She answered, ‘Yes, sir.’
"After entering the house, the Prophet said, ‘Brother Brown, I noticed when I came in that you were reading the Doctrine and Covenants. Will you kindly get it?’ He did so, and the Prophet turned to what is now the 133rd Section, and commencing at the 26th verse, read to the 34th verse.
26 And they who are in the north countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord; and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves; and they shall smite the rocks, and the ice shall flow down at their presence.
27 And an highway shall be cast up in the midst of the great deep.
28 Their enemies shall become a prey unto them,
29 And in the barren deserts there shall come forth pools of living water; and the parched ground shall no longer be a thirsty land.

New plates were made by Mormon, on which he wrote, from the more ancient books, an abridged history of the nation, incorporating therewith many revelations, prophecies, the Gospel, etc.. These new plates were given to Moroni on which to finish the history. All of the ancient plates Mormon deposited in Cumorah, about three hundred and eighty four years after Christ. When Moroni, about thirty six years after, made the deposit of the book entrusted to him, he was, without a doubt, inspired to select a department of the hill separate from the numerous volumes hid up by his father. The particular place on the hill, where Moroni secreted his book, was revealed by the angel Moroni to the Prophet Joseph Smith, to whom the volume was delivered in September, A.D. 1827. But the grand depository of all of the numerous records of the ancient nations of the western continent was located in another department of the hill, and its contents under the charge of Holy Angels, until the day should come for them to be transferred to the sacred temple of Zion."

HOW TWO ORBS COME TOGETHER WITHOUT ONE UTTERLY DESTROYING THE OTHER
If you have looked at (at the previous JPL data showing) how the orbit of Elinin is coming in and matching the speed, plane and about the same orbit as our planet, and how there may be some interesting interplay with this thing, I thought these previous statements had some merit:

Elder Parley Pratt, Orson Pratt’s brother and an Apostle, said, “The stars [planets] which will fall to earth are fragments, which have been broken off from the earth from time to time in the mighty convulsions of nature …. These all must be restored again at the ‘times of restitution of all things.’ …When these fragments (some of which are vastly larger than the present earth) are brought back and joined to this earth, it will cause a convulsion of all nature …. The mountains will flow down, the valley rise, the sea retire to its own place, the islands and continents will be removed, and the earth be rolled together as a scroll.” (The Millennial Star, 1:258.)
From an extended discussion with the Prophet (Joseph) about the mechanisms behind such planetary encounters by an early church member, Homer M. Brown, great grandfather of Elder Hugh B. Brown, recalled these details of Joseph’s explanation. “Scientists will tell you … that two planets coming together would be disastrous to both. But, when two planets … are traveling in the same direction and one of them with a little greater velocity than the other, it would not be disastrous because the one traveling faster would overtake the other.
“Now, what would cause the mountains of ice to melt quicker than the heat caused by the friction of the two planets coming together?
“Now, Brother Brown, at the present time this earth is rotating very rapidly. When this planet returns it will make the earth much heavier, and it will then revolve slower, and that will account for the waters receding from the earth ….” (The Last Days, pp. 90, 91.)

I know this is out of season - this should be more of a Passover kind of article, but I have been reading up on Joseph of Arimathea to find out how he was rich enough to have his own tomb freshly hewn out of solid limestone which later became the temporary resting spot for Jesus' body.
I have also been trying to get more info on reports that he was a key figure in moving the gospel forward to some of the scattered remnants of the 10 tribes in Europe - most notably in England.

The Legendary Tin Mines of Cornwall
When Rome was still a tiny village on the Palatine Hill, Phoenician traders were sailing their ships the length and breadth of the Mediterranean and beyond in search of goods to be sold or traded for a handsome profit. There were great risks in making a long sea voyage and bringing home a valuable cargo, but the enormous profit that could be made from selling the goods made the risks worthwhile. The key was to trade a product that was unique, very desirable, hard to get, or desperately needed for other products that were common in the land of the people with whom you were trading. These products may be rare and desirable someplace else, and the trader now had something with which he could once again make a profit.
Tin was just such a product in the ancient world. Tin was vital to the ancients because it was needed in the making of bronze. Bronze was an alloy, or a mixture of two or more metals. To make bronze, the metal smith mixed copper with the proper amount of tin. Copper tools and weapons by themselves were too soft and did not long remain sharp. Tin made the copper harder and also made the molten metal fill the mold more completely when it was cast into useful objects like axe heads, hammers, and jewelry. So many useful articles were made of bronze in ancient times that no civilization could thrive very long without a supply of it or the copper and tin needed to make it.
The deposits of tin in the ancient world were usually small and not very plentiful. The Phoenicians discovered the tin deposits of the British Isles through their own exploring and seeking out of new products and markets for them. They kept the knowledge of the Cornish tin mines a closely guarded secret so they could control trade in the metal and charge a high price for it. After the Punic wars, Carthage, the one remaining city of the Phoenicians, became less and less an important economic power. With their well - known efficiency and thoroughness, the Romans counted access to the British tin mines as one of the advantages of conquering the island. Julius Caesar knew of the importance of British tin when he invaded the island in 55 to 54 B.C. After the conquest of Britain during the reign of Claudius, the Romans were in control of most of the world's supply of the metal. Hence, the closely guarded treasure secret of Britain's tin passed hands from the Phoenicians to the Romans.
The fact that tin trade existed is too well attested to need proof. Herodotus as early as 445 BC speaks of the British Isles as the Tin Islands or Cassiterides. Pytheas (352-323 BC) mentions the tin trade, as does also Polybius (circa 160). Diodorus Siculus gives a detailed description of the trade. He tells us that the tin was mined, beaten into squares, and carried to an island called Ictis, joined to the mainland at low tide, which is generally held to be Mount St. Michael in Cornwall, although some have identified it with Falmouth. Thence it was shipped to Morlais, and transported across France on pack horses to Marseilles. From Marseilles it was again shipped to Phoenicia. Innumerable ancient workings in Cornwall still attest the trade, and tin is still mined there today. Lord Avebury and Sir John Evans held the opinion that the trade existed as early as 1500 BC, and Sir Edward Creasy in his History of England writes: "The British mines mainly suppled the glorious adornment of Solomon's Temple". This matter ties in very well with the involvement of Phoenician builders with construction of Solomon's Temple.
Travel Between the Eastern Mediterranean and Britain
Before going into the controversial question of Glastonbury, Joseph of Arimathea and the stories or legends which surround it, one needs to stop at a few points to determine some basic givens. Glastonbury is traditionally the first Christian sanctuary in Great Britain, visited, so legend has it, by Joseph of Arimathea and Saints David & Patrick. It has a strong tradition in British history dating back to the time of King Arthur who is said to have been buried at the Abbey beside his lovely wife Queen Guinevere. His body was moved at a later date. Further, at Glastonbury Joseph of Arimathea is said to have planted the Holy Thorn tree which is still growing there today. Also, a holy well is supposed to be still found there.
The strong tradition tying Joseph of Arimathea with Glastonbury and the Phoenician tin trade with Cornwall may have strong thread of truth that ties them together. The only known sailors who came from the Eastern Mediterranean to Britain were Phoenician. Hence, the elementary conclusion is that Joseph of Arimathea, if he really made the trip(s), must have done it on Phoenician ships.
If this hypothesis is accepted, further reading on the subject could be accommodated. However, some claims and details seem far fetched but are presented herewith for your consideration despite their implausibility.
Below, the account is presented as is even though the author does not necessarily agree with this presentation in its totality.
However, for historical reference presents this some what irrefutable point of evidence:
Historians William of Malmesbury, Maelgwyn of Llandaff and Polydore Vergil all place Joseph of Arimathea at Glastonbury. Even the four Church councils of Pisa 1409, Constance 1417, Sienna 1424 and Basle 1434, mention that "the Churches of France and Spain must yield in points of antiquity and precedence to that of Britain as the latter Church was founded by Joseph of Arimathea immediately after the passion of Christ."
Joseph of Arimathea, Tin Merchant
According to the Talmud, Joseph of Arimathea was said to have been an uncle of the Virgin Mary, being a younger brother of her father. He gained his wealth as an importer in the tin trade, which existed between Cornwall and Phoenicia.
Joseph along with St. John buried Jesus after the crucifixion. Joseph, in the tin trade, made a lot of trips to Britain, where being a rich merchant made close contact with royalty; namely Kings Beli, Lud, Llyr and Arviragus, who gave Joseph and his companions some 2000 acres of land, tax free. Arviragus would become God's "Protectorate" for the Cradle of Christianity, Glastonbury. Caradoc, Pendragon of England, would become God's "Protectorate" of the fledgling English Church.
Joseph of Arimathea was a man of refinement, well educated, and one who possessed many talents, had extraordinary political and business ability. He has been called one of the richest men in the world. He learned about that tin trade from the Phoenicians, which then was akin in importance to that of steel today. They had been bringing ore from England for centuries. Joseph was well educated, a member of the ruling political body of the whole country. In St. Jerome's translation, Joseph's official title is given as 'Nobilis Decurio', a minister of mines for the Roman empire, with direct access to Pilate himself. He was no slouch. How better to protect Jesus, after Joseph the carpenter died, and insure the seeding and growth of the Gospel in England.
The basic story of Joseph's trip to England varies in some details from account to account. But the bare facts are that Joseph, with many disciples traveled from the holy land by Phoenician boat and landed at Marseilles (a Phoenician trading post), in the Vienoise province of the Gauls (France). From there he went on to England established seminaries and sent out missionaries. In his "Ecclesiastical Annals", Cardinal Baronius, Curator of the Vatican library, gives this account. "In that year the party mentioned was exposed to the sea in a vessel without sails or oars. The vessel drifted finally to Marseilles and they were saved. From Marseilles Joseph and his company passed into Britain and after preaching the Gospel there..."
How many of the disciples were with Joseph of Arimathea during his short stay in Gaul, before going on to England, is hard to say. Various existing records agree in part with the Cardinal Baronius record, naming among the occupants of the castaway boat Mary Magdalene, Martha, the hand-maiden Marcella, Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead, and Maximin the man whose sight Jesus restored. Other records state that Philip and James accompanied Joseph. Others report that Mary, the wife of Cleopas, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, were also in the boat. Philip was waiting for the travelers in France. There is testimony asserting his commission in Gaul, all of which alike state that he received and consecrated Joseph, preparatory to his embarkation and appointment as the Apostle to Britain.
Although there are some who would argue for France being first, most records agree that Britain, at Glastonbury was the Root of the Christian movement. One would expect that history would show that the missionary activities would flow out of the well-spring of Christianity. And well does history record this. The Gaulic records state that for centuries the Archbishops of Treves and Rheims were all Britons supplied by the mother church at Glastonbury-Avalon. St. Cadval, a famed British missionary, going out from Glastonbury, founded the church of Tarentum, Italy, A.D. 170 four hundred years before the time of St. Augustine and at least fourteen years after King Lucius Christianized all of Britain in A.D. 156!
Converts literally flooded into Glastonbury for conversion, baptism, instruction and missionary assignment. Philip sent, from Gaul alone, one hundred sixty disciples to assist Joseph and his team with the crowds. And it is surely known that helpers were sent from other places beside France.
One of the first to go out from Glastonbury was Mary and Martha's brother Lazarus. He headed straight back to Marseilles where he held the Bishopric for seven years. But that was only natural. France was a Family Thing for the Bethany household. Mary and Martha both lived out their lives, preaching and teaching in the south of France. "The Coming of The Saints," by Taylor is a good book on the subject.
Many famous names are recorded as having been associated with Glastonbury-Avalon:
* Sidonis, Saturninus, and Cleon taught and supported other missionaries in Gaul, then returned to Britain.
* Martial's parents, Marcellus and Elizabeth were there along with St Zacchaeus.
* Parmena, disciple of Joseph, was appointed the first Bishop of Avignon.
* Drennalus, helped Joseph found the church at Morlaix. He was then appointed to Treguier as it's first Bishop.
* Beatus founded the church in Helvetia, after receiving his baptism and education at Avalon.
* Beatus was baptised by St. Barnabas, the brother of Aristobulus, sent in advance by St. Paul to Britain. He is referred to in scripture as Joses, the Levite.
* Mansuetus was consecrated the first Bishop of the Lotharingians A.D. 49, with his See at Toul. He also founded the church at Lorraine.
Historical note:
Mansuetus was a constant visitor to Rome after Claudia had married Pudens. He was a friend of Linus, the Bishop of Rome, and brother of Claudia. After the death of St. Clement, Mansuetus became the third official Bishop of the British Church at Rome. Thus we have three disciples of Avalon, instructed by St. Joseph, to become, in succession, Bishops of Rome.
Iltigius, in "De Patribus Apostolicis", quotes St. Peter as saying; "Concerning the Bishops who have been ordained in our lifetime, we make known to you that they are these. Of Antioch, Eudoius, ordained by me, Peter. Of the Church of Rome, Linus, son of Claudia, was first ordained by Paul, and after Linus's death, Clemens the second, ordained by me, Peter."

In Lionel Smithett Lewis' St. Joseph of Arimathea at Glastonbury indicates "It is certain that Britain received the Faith in the first age from the first sowers of the Word. Of all the churches whose origin I have investigated in Britain, the church of Glastonbury is the most ancient.": wrote sir Henry Spelman in his Concilia, and again he wrote in the same work: "We have abundant evidence that this Britain of ours received the Faith, and that from the disciple of Christ Himself, soon after the Crucifixion of Christ."
Robert Parsons, the Jesuit, in his Three Conversions of England, admits that : "The Christian religion began in Britain within fifty years of Christ's ascension." His co-religionist, the very learned Alford, in his Regia Fides says: "It is perfectly certain that, before St. Paul had come to Rome, Aristobulus was absent in Britain." The discreet Fuller goes so far as to say: "If credit be given to these ancient authors, this Church without competition was senior to all Christian churches in the world." "Britain," wrote the erudite Polydore Vergil, "partly through Joseph of Arimathea, partly through Fugatus and Damianus, was of all kingdoms the first that received the Gospel." It is a matter of distinct interest that Cardinal Pole, twice over, when solemnly reconciling England to the Pope and the Church of Rome, at the beginning of Queen Mary's reign, claimed that Britain was the first country to be converted to Christianity.
The Venerable Bede, writing about AD 740, says: "The Britons preserved the Faith which they had received under King Lucius uncorrupted, and continued in peace and tranquility until the time of the Emperor Diocletian."
It will be noticed that two distinct events are spoken of above: (1) The foundation of the Church in England by the Disciples of Christ. (2) The acceptance of Christianity by the British Nation under Good King Lucius about AD 170. Britain was the first of all nations to accept Christianity as its national religion. Few people realize that this is why the British King is called "our Most Religious King". Not many realize that the superior dignity and antiquity of our national Church has been decided by Church Councils. The Councils of Pisa in 1409, Constance in 1417, Sienna in 1424, and Basle in 1434. It was there contended that the Churches of France and Spain must yield in points of antiquity and precedence to that of Britain, as the latter Church was founded by Joseph of Arimathea immediately after the Passion of Christ.
Gildas the Wise, the earliest Christian historian (AD 425-512) distinctly says that the Light of Christ shone here in the last year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, that is AD 37. This falls in with the claim recorded above, which gave precedence to British Bishops at the Church Councils on the ground that Britain was converted "immediately after the Passion of Jesus Christ". It fits in also with the statements of Fuller and Polydore Virgil already recorded that the Church of Glastonbury was the Senior Church of the world; with Sir Henry Spelman's words that Britain received the Faith soon after the Crucifixion; with Alford's statement that Aristobulus was in Britain before St. Paul went to Rome; with the observance by the Greek Church of the martyrdom in Britain of Our Lord's disciple, St. Simon Zelotes, on May 10, AD 44 (a date supported by Cardinal Baronius; and with Hippolytus' (born about AD 160) inclusion of that Apostle in his lists as "Bishop of the Britons". All these are testimony to the year AD 37 as marking the coming of the first Mission.
Joseph of Arimathea was the protector of that valorous little band of disciples during the perilous years following the crucifixion, the indefatigable head of the Christian underground in Judea, and the guardian of Christ's only earthly treasure, - His mother.
According to the Talmud, Joseph was the younger brother of the father of the Virgin Mary. He was her uncle, and therefore a great uncle to Jesus. Chiefly from the secular reports we learn that Joseph was a married man and his son, Josephes. It is quite obvious that the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary died while Jesus was young. Under Jewish law such a circumstance automatically appointed the next male kin of the husband, in this case Joseph, legal guardian of the family. We know that Joseph never forsook his nephew. He stood by Him as a bold, fearless defender at the notorious trial, and defied the Sanhedrin by going to Pilate and boldly claiming the body when all others feared to do so. It is commonly taught that Jesus was poor and of obscure relatives. His relationship with the affluent Joseph of Arimathea proves otherwise. In His own right He was a property owner but long before He took up His mission He forsook all material wealth.
Leading authorities identify Arimathea with Ramah, or Ramallah as it is called today. It was the birthplace of the prophet Samuel, and is called in the Septuagint Arimathaim. Josephus calls it Amartha. The identity seems clear. Now Ramah lay about eight miles due North of Jerusalem on the Jerusalem-Nazareth road. It was the first stopping place of caravans traveling North from Jerusalem. It would be the stopping place of the Holy family, both to and from the city.
Joseph is always spoken of as belonging to Arimathea, which implies that it was his existing place of residence. He was a wealthy man, and his duties as a chancellor would bring him frequently to Jerusalem, where he had also a town residence. He would certainly be in Jerusalem at the time of the feast. [of Passover] The whole story now becomes clear. As the uncle of the Virgin Mary he probably knew all about the wondrous story of Our Lord's birth. Year by rear, when Joseph and Mary attended the feast, he would enquire about the mysterious child. He would eagerly look forward to His first visit.

After a while the Gentiles will gather by the thousands to this place, and Salt Lake City will be classed among the wicked cities of the world. A spirit of speculation and extravagance will take possession of the Saints, and the results will be financial bondage.
Persecution comes next and all true Latter-Day Saints will be tested to the limit. Many will apostatize and others will be still not knowing what to do. The judgments of God will be poured out upon the wicked to the extent that our Elders far and near will be called home, or in other words, the gospel will be taken from the Gentiles and later carried on to the Jews.
The western boundary of the State of Missouri will be swept so clean of its inhabitants that, as President Young tells it, when you return to that place, there will not be so much as a yellow dog left to wag his tail. Before that day comes, however, the Saints will be put to the tests that will try the integrity of the best of them. The pressures will become so great that the more righteous among them will cry unto the Lord day and night until deliverance comes.
Then the Prophet (Joseph Smith) and others will make their appearance and those who have remained faithful will be selected to return to Jackson County, Missouri and take part in the upbuilding of that beautiful city, the New Jerusalem.” Deseret News, May 23, 1931

PROPHECIES RELATING TO FUTURE EVENTS IN AMERICA
1) The Gentiles will be allowed to possess this land provided they remain humble and do not utterly reject the mission of the Latter-Day church. 3 Nephi 21: 22-24
2) Faithful Gentiles in the last days will help in the building of the New Jerusalem.

3) America will remain a land of freedom only as long as the people who inhabit it continue to serve the God of the land. 2 Nephi 1: 6-7
4) The inhabitants of America in the last days to become so great, so politically powerful, and economically prosperous that their pride would be lifted up “above all other nations”, and above all people in the whole earth. 3 Nephi 16: 10
5) The inhabitants of America in the latter days will become a nation of liars, hypocrites, and murderers - addicted to all manner of licentiousness and practicing fraud upon one another through secret combinations. 3 Nephi 16: 10
6) The Gospel will be taken from the Gentiles. 3 Nephi 16:10
7) Forces will then be released that will then cut the Gentiles from off the face of the earth.

8) The American Indians will be driven by the Gentiles. 3 Nephi 16: 9
9) The Indians will be the means of conquering the Gentiles in the day of the Lord’s wrath. 3 Nephi 16: 5, 20:15-17, 21:12
10) The complete political and economic collapse for the Gentiles of this land if they become a wicked and degenerate nation. They will be deprived of their means of transportation, their chariots to be destroyed, their strongholds and fortresses will be torn to pieces and their mighty cities made a desolation. 3 Nephi 21: 15-20
11) New York, Albany, and Boston specifically mentioned as places to be destroyed if they reject the word of the Lord. D&C 84: 114-115

BUILDING THE NEW JERUSALEM (ZION)
1) The calling of the Saints to go back to Jackson County, Missouri will be after that section of the country is swept clean of all life. The desolate cities will be inhabited by the Ten Tribes after they come from the North. 3 Nephi 22: 3
2) “I saw a short distance from the Missouri River, where I stood, twelve men dressed in the robes of the temple. They stood in a square nearby, and I was given to understand that they represented the twelve gates of the New Jerusalem. Their hands were uplifted while they were consecrating the ground; and later they laid the cornerstones of the House of God. I saw myriads of angels hovering near them, and above their heads there was a pillar-like cloud. I heard the most beautiful singing in the words, “How is established the kingdom of our God and His Christ, and he shall reign forever and forever, and the Kingdom shall never be thrown down, for the Saints have overcome.” I saw people coming from the river and distant places to help build the temple. It seemed as though there were hosts of angels helping to bring material for the construction of that building. THE GREAT PRIESTHOOD CONFERENCE AT ADAM-ONDI-AHMAN
1) Not far from the town of Gallatin, in Davies County, Missouri, is a place known as Spring Hill. By the Lord, however, this place was named “Adam-Ondi-Ahman” because it is the place where Adam shall sit, as spoken of by Daniel, the prophet. D&C 116
2) Adam held a great last meeting with his posterity at Adam-Ondi-Ahman shortly before his death. D&C 107: 53
3) Adam predicted at this last meeting all that should befall his posterity until the end. D&C 107: 54-57
4) Adam will prepare the Saints for the Second Coming of the Savior. Documentary History of the Church 3:386-7
5) At that meeting the Savior will receive the keys of all of the dispensations since Adam. The Way to Perfection pg. 40
6) ”When this gathering is held, the world will not know of it; the members of the Church at large will not know of it, yet the Savior will be there and it will be preparatory to the coming in the clouds of the glory of our Savior.” The Way to Perfection pg. 40
7) The pre-millennial appearance of the Savior at the New Jerusalem is clearly taught in the scriptures.

8) Under the direction of the Savior three events will take place:
a) The Lamanite nations will be converted. 3 Nephi 21: 26
b) The Ten Tribes will be brought down from the North. 3 Nephi 21: 26
c) The righteous blood of Israel will receive a final call to gather out from all other parts of the earth and fell to America. All of this must be accomplished before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 3 Nephi 21: 25-29
THE CONVERSION OF THE LAMANITES
1) When the Lamanites are converted, they will become white like unto the tribes of Ephraim. 2 Nephi 30:6
2) They will be highly spiritual, living all the commandments of the Lord, and considered by the other tribes of Israel as a righteous branch. 2 Nephi 9: 53
3) They will become progressive in their habits, attractive, cultural and gain in intellectual attainments. D&C 49: 24
THE COMING OF THE TRIBES FROM THE NORTH
1) The prophets among the Ten Tribes will spend a hundred years preparing for their return. The apostle John, as a translated being is fulfilling a mission to their tribes also preparing them for their future return. Essentials of Church History pg. 125
2) The Ten Tribes are separated from the main body. 3 Nephi 15: 19
3) The main body of the Ten Tribes is not among the Gentiles at all. 3 Nephi 15: 15-24
4) Brigham Young taught that the Ten Tribes of Israel are on a portion of the earth -- a portion separate from the mainland. Wilford Woodruff pg.442
5) The Ten Tribes are called outcasts because they are cast out from the knowledge of the nations unto a land by themselves. Voice of Warning pg. 30
6) Rocks and ice shall flow down at the presence of the Tribes coming from the north. D&C 133: 26
7) As they come to the great body of water, dry land will be cast up in the midst of it so that a great highway will spread before them. D&C 133: 37, Isaiah 11:16
8) The Ten Tribes will receive great blessings under the hand of the tribe of Ephraim. D&C 133: 32
9) Any enemies that will try to stop the migration of the Ten Tribes will literally be marched over in their progress. D&C 133: 28
10) The great highway across the water will be unsafe for the use of any other group other than the Ten Tribes. Isaiah 35:8-10
11) The Ten Tribes will bring with them their histories, records and scriptures. 2 Nephi 29:12-13
12) They will tell of many experiences including the visit of the Savior in the meridian of time. 3 Nephi 15: 12-13, 16: 1-3
13) The Ten Tribes will bring with them their precious metals, rare gems, and works of art, all to be used to establish the temple of the New Jerusalem. D&C 133: 30
14) When they arrive they will fall down and receive the crowning of glory under the hands of Ephraim. D&C 133: 32
THE GATHERING OF ALL OF THE SAINTS TO ZION
1) The Saints will come to Zion, not in haste nor as fugitives from persecution, but as Saints of God joyfully returning to the Land of Inheritance. 3 Nephi 21: 28-29
2) The Saints will come from all nations as the watchmen on the Mount of Ephraim urge them forward. Jeremiah 31: 6
3) The watchmen of the tribe of Ephraim are the officials and the Priesthood holders of the Church and the kingdom of God -- to whom all of Israel, save Judah alone, will come to receive their blessings. D&C 88: 84
4) From these Sons of Ephraim the Lord will select by revelation his special servants, they will:
a) Go to all sections of the earth finding the Saints and telling them to gather
b) Warn all nations and kingdoms and gather any repentant and righteous to Zion. They will seal all of those who reject their testimonies unto the day when the arm of the Lord will fall. Jeremiah 16:16, D&C 29:5, Rev 18: 4
5) The Priesthood must prepare themselves to exercise the sealing power of the Priesthood against those that reject them. D&C 88: 77, 133: 37
6) All will have the chance to hear the gospel in their own tongue. D&C 90: 11
7) The missionaries will be so pressed for time that they will teach it in the market places and along the road, and when they have done all that they can in the time allotted, they will leave that place never to return again. Micah 2: 12
8) The gathered Lamanites and members of the Ten Tribes will be so great in numbers that they will make a great noise by reason of their numbers. Micah 2: 12
9) There will be such a great group that they will overflow the land and spread out over the plains.

10) Water will be miraculously provided for the land of Zion. Isaiah 41:17-18
THE BEGINNING OF THE END
1) Lucifer will show his great powers when the missionaries are gathering the people. D&C 1: 35
2) Lucifer will give the sign-seeking telestial people great signs and wonders.

3) Lucifer will call down fire from heaven. Revelations 13: 13-15
4) Lucifer will raise up false Christs and prophets, and the very elect will be deceived, if not careful. Pearl of Great Price 7: 23
5) Satan will have control of all places other than Zion in those days and all his will have an identifying mark on their hand or forehead. Revelations 13: 16
6) Economic sanctions will be brought against anyone that does not have the mark. Revelations 13: 17
7) As a result of the sanctions nations will rise against nation causing famine. Mark 24: 15, P of GP 44: 29
8) The inhabitants of Zion will be the only ones on earth that will not be subjected to war. D&C 45: 69-70
9) Because of the rejections of the testimonies of the missionaries and the great wickedness of the people, the great destructions caused by nature will commence. D&C 88: 89-91
10) The earth will reel to and fro. D&C 88: 87
11) The stars will be hurled out of their places and the remainder will not give of their light. D&C 34: 9; 88: 87
12) The sun shall suddenly be darkened and the moon shall be bathed in blood. D&C 45: 42; 88:87

AMERICA TO BE CUT OFF FROM OTHER NATIONS
1) No flesh shall be safe on any water -- only those from other countries which are upright in their hearts will be allowed to go up to the land of Zion. D&C 61: 15-16
PARABLE OF THE TEN VIRGINS
1) Read the complete parable. Mathew 25: 8-12
2) “I have sworn in my wrath and decreed wars upon the face of the earth, and the wicked shall slay the wicked, and fear shall come upon every nation, and the Saints shall hardly escape...these things that ye must look for; and, speaking after the manner of the Lord, they are nigh at hand, and in a time to come, even in the day of the coming of the Son of Man. And until that hour there will be foolish virgins among the wise; and at that hour cometh an entire separation of the righteous and the wicked; and in that day I will send Mine angels to pluck out the wicked and cast them into an unquenchable fire.” D&C 63: 33-34; 53: 54
PROPHECY CONCERNING PALESTINE
1) “.....the Lord has decreed that the Jews should be gathered from all the Gentile nations where they have been driven, into their own land, in fulfillment of the words of Moses, their law-giver. And this is the will of your great Elohim, O house of Judah, and when ever you shall ever be called upon to perform this work, the God of Israel will help you. You have a great future and destiny before you and you cannot avoid fulfilling it; you are the royal and chosen seed, and the God of your Father’s house has kept you distinct as a nation for eighteen hundred years, under all the oppression of all the Gentile world. You may not wait until you believe on Jesus of Nazareth, but when you meet with Shiloh your king, you will know him; your destiny is marked and you cannot avoid it. It is true that after you return and gather your nation home, and rebuild your city and temple, that the Gentiles may gather together their armies to go against you to battle, to take you a prey and to take you as a spoil, which they will do, for the words of your prophets must be fulfilled; but when this affliction comes, the living God that led Moses through the wilderness, will deliver you , and your Shiloh will come and stand in your midst and fight your battles; and you will know Him, and the afflictions of the Jews will be at an end, while the destruction of the Gentiles will be so great that it will take the whole house of Israel who are gathered about Jerusalem, seven months to bury the dead of their enemies, and the weapons of war will last them seven years for fuel, so that they need not go to any forest for wood. These are tremendous sayings -- who can bear them? Nevertheless, they are true and will be fulfilled according to the sayings of Ezekial, Zechariah, and the prophets. 2) On October 24th, 1842, Orson Hyde, a Jewish apostle (of the Quorum of the Twelve) of the Latter-Day church, journeyed to the city of Old Jerusalem, and from the Mount of Olives, poured out his heart in a prayer of dedication to the Lord. Essentials of Church History pg. 284
3) In the year of 1875, George Albert Smith, (another apostle of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles) was sent by Brigham Young to again dedicate the land and pray unto the Lord that his work might be hastened unto an opening of the way for the return of the exiled Jews. Comp. Hist. of the Church Vol5, pp 474-5
THE SECOND COMING
1) A single Gentile nation is going to eventually encompass all other Gentile nations of Asia and Europe so that they will form one large company together. At the head of this army of nations will stand a dominating prince of Japeth, an uncompromising, ruthless Gentile dictator. Ezekial Ch 38& 39
2) This great leader will “speak great words against the Most High....wear out the Saints of the Most High and think to change times and laws.” Daniel 7: 25
3) In the days of this leader any man who refuses to take up his sword and fight must flee to the American continent. D&C 45: 68-70
4) John saw the march of the highly mechanized armies under the leadership of this great dictator whom they called Gog. Revelations 11
5) The number of the ranks of this great army will number 200,000,000. Revelations 9: 16
6) The great army will make their last fight against the Jews and trod down a great portion of the city of Jerusalem, but they will not have power to destroy the people as a whole, for three and one half years the people will continue to survive the onslaught of Gog. Daniel 7: 25, Revelations 11: 2
7) The Jews will withstand this great army through the help of the Lord. He will raise up among the Jews two mighty prophets, and through their efforts the mighty war machine of Gog will grind to a halt as they meet the unexpected oppositions of these prophets when they march on the world capital of Judah. Revelations 11: 5-6
8) The two prophets will be killed and their bodies will lie in the streets of Jerusalem for three and one half days and then they will be resurrected. When they are, the Lord will come. Revelations 11
THE MILLENIUM
1) The Millennium to be a time of winding up the affairs of the earth life existence. D&C 76: 106-107
2) The great work of the Millennium is to bring about the literal brotherhood of man and prepare the whole human race for the great final judgment. D&C 133: 23-24, Revs. 16:18, Isaiah 40:4
3) The surface of the earth is to be changed. The earth will become smooth and productive. Luke 3: 5
4) The sea to be driven back into the North countries, the islands shall become one land, and the earth shall be like it was in the days before it was divided (in the days of Peleg - Genesis 10:25). D&C 133: 23-24
5) Great forests will grow up in the wilderness. Wilford Woodruff pg. 481
6) Rivers and springs will change the deserts and wastelands into farmlands. Isaiah 35: 7
7) Noxious weeds, briars, and thorns will give way to groves, orchards and profitable plant life. Isaiah 55: 13
8) The earth will become a “new earth” and the earth that we now know shall not be remembered or come to mind. Isaiah 65: 17-19
9) The earth will be transfigured in this state. D&C 63: 21
10) There shall be no sorrow because there will be no death. D&C 101: 29
11) Men shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye from a mortal to a resurrected being. D&C 65: 51
12) There will be no sin among the younger generations. D&C 45: 58
13) All enmity to cease between man and all of the rest of God’s creations. Isaiah 11: 6-9, 65: 25; Moses 2: 18
14) During the millennium, the language spoken will be that of the pure Adamic language. Zephaniah 3: 9
15) Satan will be bound during the millennium due to the righteousness of the people. D&C 88:110
16) The city of Enoch, which was caught up into heaven before the days of the flood shall be brought back to earth and joined with the City of The New Jerusalem. Moses 7: 63
17) A history of the world will be shown a thousand years at a time. D&C 88: 108-110
18) Astronomy and geology will be taught by revelation during the Millennium. Abraham 3:3, D&C 121: 28-31; 101: 32-34
