So somehow, stuff in a previous post was construed that I was bashing the Brethren. My firm belief is that we are led by the Lord's mouthpiece and that there is safety in sticking with the one who was given the keys to the Kingdom by the Savior, and a majority of the Twelve. It is a very simple belief. And I stick with it. I also maintain that there will be those who will be deceived and so it is important to Seek Him and not count in or trust in the arm of the flesh. I believe there will be a split or rift.
I happen to believe that we are close and that Dallin H Oaks will lead the charge into the Millennium after President Nelson is no longer in the saddle.
I hold little or no faith in the middle management, as I call them. As time goes on, and any organization becomes bloated, it loses touch with what makes it real. What makes it real for me?
Here is a list:
- Gifts of the Spirit such as prophecy, healing, discernment
- Focus on the Savior, and not of worship or idolizing of man
- Selfless love of fellow man and not of self
- A focus on the gathering of Israel and bringing home the lost
- Expounding of real doctrine that exalts men and women (not lowering the bar for the weakest of the Saints)
- Facing any truth of our past, regardless of how bad it may look to the enemies of the Church.
- Having the courage to say what needs to be said, even if it means your life
When anyone is doing these things, they have my stamp of approval so long as they do not deviate from scriptural norms.
I hope I was clear.
"Facing any truth of our past, regardless of how bad it may look to the enemies of the Church."
ReplyDeleteI do not consider you my enemy, and I hope you don't consider me to be yours. So I await your effort to correct your world-reaching comments regarding me being a disinfo agent and a pharma goon. I regret that this may fester between us. I've apologized for my mistake. Do you wish to hold on to yours or let it go?
Todd
Are we not all weak saints?
ReplyDelete"I hold little or no faith in the middle management, as I call them." If this is the case you do not sustain them and shouldn't get a temple recommend. I think we've read you very clearly and you're not worth following anymore. Follow the prophet, he know's the way and points to Christ.
ReplyDeleteWow Stephen H, are you a judge in Israel? Self annoited I'd say. I would leave a lot of room for those called middle managers.
DeleteWe may disagree on some things, perhaps even many things, but I have not called you an apostate nor would I ever. You are a man that is concerned for his country, as am I.
ReplyDeleteI agree, there are many people in "middle management" positions that ARE leading many astray.
Agree with your points. As to Facing Truths of the Church.
ReplyDeleteThere are always half truths and distortions that provide ammunition to the wicked to deceive the people. Question is, does one have the ability to discern or not? For me it takes a while for some things. For other things, like this latest attack on the US Capitol in midst of a pro US / Trump rally was clearly BLM ANTIFA types masquerading as Trump supporters, should be more than obvious given the past history of these rioters last summer.
This riot would need to be coordinated with law enforcement to permit this encroachment with the intent to blame it on Trump, and whip up a fevered impeachment frenzy in the effort to shut down all Conservatives....
Even the most religiously pious among us cannot recognize the deception. This is what concerns me the most. Reasons are many, I suppose, attachment to the media / academic / government complex that work in unison. People will reason; how can they possibly lie in unison, out right, just like that? So many members of our Church are incapable recognizing these things. I think those of other religions can see threats more readily than the LDS. I blame this on members expecting the Prophet to warn them when the policy of nonpolitical interference takes precedence. In other words, if the Church says nothing for or against socialism, communism... well then, they must be ok...is the sort of reasoning I see with members, and I am not being facetious.
I suppose I must qualify my position that prophet and the apostles hold the keys and authority. I have no theological issues with the Church, but I think we may disagree on interpretation. Just trying to find truths and be honest with myself of which questioning must not be threatening. If something is threatening, that is fear talking and we should know who the author of fear is. Why need we fear if we know the truth of Joseph and the BofM, the reality of the Savior represent the core datum point around which everything revolves. If your faith is being challenged....Good, it will push you to search and think and reason. No one is safe. Everybody wants to be safe in an unstable world, such is the meaning; to work out our salvation in Fear and trembling. The word fear in my mind is; all is not likely well in Zion, Reevaluate.
