THE PORTEND OF HUNGER STONES

Europe is in the midst of a drought.  So is the Cardston area - at least until today.

It rained all night - and likely put out a fire that has caused the lake to be shut down to any activity and to have caused an evacuation warning to go out.

The upside is that we were able to stay for free in the lodge that my daughter works at in rooms whose bookings were cancelled.  The bad side is that the rain will loosen the soil on the slopes that now have little or no vegetation on to hold the mud and rock back.  The last time it rained so hard, it ended up flooding the basement of the old hotel with mud.

Things are getting more and more tenuous when it comes to the weather.  This happened to the Saints in the area when they were just settling it.  The Lord was sifting the n'erdowells from those that were supposed to be here.  He is getting ready to do the same thing again.  In history, there have been multiple, multiple events wherein people have had to go through constrictions where only a few make it through.  I call them fish ladders......

The coming fish ladder or choke point will be the most strenuous one - for only the "Holy Seed" will make it, per the words of Isaiah and others.  This 10% (and I am not sure what 10 percent of which demographic that is, exactly) will carry on the role of taking God's children into the Millennium.  That is a hefty burden - and one that will require some moxcy, Moxely, etc.  We are "pre-selecting" ourselves (or not) right now.  Every act I perform (when in a "testing" situation), is making that choice - and I consistently find myself asking the question as to how I am doing in that area.  I would like to get to the top of the fish ladder to the terrestrial pool - and not be dammed/damned in my attempt....

At some point, the judgments will begin in earnest.  Their measure and intensity will not let up for us until the Lord has swept the wicked out in a major way.  Many of the more sensitive have heard the call years and even decades ago - and have gotten themselves out of Babylon.  Some are just starting to stir and wake up to the depravity and awful state of things around them.  They may make it in time.  Some will have to suffer in the furnace of their afflictions in order to be purified.  The Lord's yoke is easy and His burden is light - until the time is past; then He is a hard master and teacher of difficult lessons.  It is easier to learn them on the front side of things - as opposed to finding them out on the back side of things after having kicked against the pricks for some time.
