It is my opinion that the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon contains all of those details - and we are not ready for that until we have purged out of ourselves what the unsealed portion of that book talks about and what President Benson warned of. I think we have failed miserably in the 25 years since that message was given - and for the 25 years before that when I have been able to see that President Benson, as an apostle of the Lord, first began sounding that cry. Even someone as low on my estimation as Kennedy was sounding the cry years ago (and seven days before his assassination) when he said,
"There's a plot in this country to enslave every man, woman and child. Before I leave this high and noble office, I intend to expose this plot." JFK
So how do we throw off the shackles that have been placed on us - how do we discharge Babylon from our public affairs?
Darren, an eclectic but fascinating guy from LDSFF and contemporary of Cleon Skousen, had the following to say about governance in the old order:
Jesus Christ visited the lost tribes of Israel (3 Nephi 16:1-3) He gave them the system of LAW (which means looking to him), the perfect system for men to govern themselves. Today our US Constitution is a latter-day version and continuation of that ancestral LAW system. The London Bond Market is a millenniums old clearinghouse for the Commonwealths (Law of Consecration) instruments of trade (contracts of trade based on the honesty and self-discipline taken by Temple Oath), what we would call, "working by the Bishop's Storehouse System."
So this ancestral "Free Enterprise System" has been with us all along, operating just below the noise of Babylon, and we cannot see it!!!
And we don't avail ourselves the opportunity to return to this perfect system?? (Doctrine and Covenants 86:8-11)
Cleon Skousen tried to get our Church to find these principles from that Ancient Gospel, as an assignment from President David O. McKay.
W. Cleon Skousen in The Majesty of God's Law wrote:(President David O. McKay in 1967) said that a crisis was coming to America and the legal minds of the nation were not getting ready to deal with it
He indicated to me (Cleon Skousen) that the Founding Fathers knew this would happen …
The challenge in writing this book was my own humble attempt to try and put it all together so that anyone could see what the Founders saw.
Jefferson carefully compared the constitution of the Israelites with the laws of the Anglo-Saxons which were almost identical.
... the Founders were using the divine science of government revealed to the Israelites.
These people were the Anglo-Saxons.
Jefferson not only studied everything he could find out about these people who were the ancestors of most of the colonists, but he devoted many months to learning how to read the Anglo-Saxon language so that he could study their ancient principles of law and government from their original writings.
Where Did the Anglo-Saxons Come From?
According to the Saga(s) from the Anglo-Saxon oral history in Iceland, this people had originally lived in large numbers around the Black Sea until the first century BC. (This is the general area where the lost Ten Tribes of Israel lived until they disappeared.)
Their oral history, songs and tradition say that as a result of this migration they eventually settled in Germany and the Scandinavian countries.
Important to Jefferson (w)as the exciting fact that for centuries these people had been practicing many of the principles of government and law which God had given to Moses.
Impressed Jefferson … the fact that everywhere the Anglo-Saxons went, they established the highest order of government and law.
Professor Gilbert Chinard, one of the distinguished biographers of Jefferson states:
"Jefferson's great ambition at that time was to promote a renaissance of Anglo-Saxon primitive institutions on the new continent. Thus presented, the American Revolution was nothing but the reclamation of the Anglo-Saxon birthright of which the colonists had been deprived by a `long train of abuses.'
On August 13, 1776, Jefferson wrote to Edmund Pendleton of the Virginia legislature to urge him to help abolish the remnants of feudalism, and return to the "ancient principles" which carry with them a promise from God. He wrote:
"Are we not better for what we have hitherto abolished of the feudal system? Had not every restitution of the ancient Saxon laws had happy effect? Is it not better now that we return at once into that happy system of our ancestors, the wisest and most perfect and most perfect ever devised by the wit of man, as it stood before the eighth century.
But, of course, Jefferson was far ahead of his time -- perhaps a couple of centuries or more. But eventually, he knew it had to happen.
How ignorant and stupid we LDS are with the answers staring us right in the face? And we sell our souls and also that of our tender children for a mess of pottage from the Emperor of Babylon!
The message to do it right, and right now has been delivered to us for decades, and yet we wait as if we are to be compelled in all things. No wonder the Cleansing is coming....
Re: How do we "come out of Babylon?
jonesde wrote:That's an interesting concept Darren, could you be more specific about this opportunity that we are all failing to see, or if seeing are failing to act on? I haven't seen any such opportunity personally, or at least not that seems similar to this general concept. Maybe with more details about what it involves I might recognize it?
For example, what would I have to do today to replace my current "mess of pottage" economic activities (earning money, using that money to buy things I need and want) with what this system would facilitate?
I have about a thousand posts that go into great detail, some posts more focused on this subject than others.
In one word, INCORPORATE.
Incorporation is how the children of Israel have always been told to insulate themselves from outside and Babylonian influences. Using this Old Testament pattern for setting up the children of Israel in the ten's corporations, fifty's subdivision of cooperative, hundred's cooperatives and thousand's commonwealths.
For over a thousand years an incorporation was never registered with the state, but instead was registered with the Church and sent representatives to the General Conference Assembly. And since time immemorial, what you do inside your corporation is your business, and how you use the resources of the company's storehouse is also only the business of the corporation for the purpose of the corporation and the overall purpose of the Church, and never of the State. When hundreds of these corporations are working together and electing their own leaders Babylon is out of business.
Unfortunately, as we have seen from sad experience, that almost always when a modern LDS corporation becomes financially successful, it is turned over to the purpose of Babylon.
Knowing how to build and maintain a Zion Corporation is the key.
