I have never heard this story before.  I have always had a relatively low opinion of Nixon.

A similar story to Lord Allenby - who liberated the Holy Land from the Turks in WWI.

Here is Allenby's story - and remember that Allenby was part of the 1917 portion of the Jubilee year prophecy of Rabbi ben Samuel (1217/1517/1917/1967/2017 - all on track):

Before Meyer’s meeting could be convened another miracle and sign happened … on the 11^th December, 1917 General Edmond Allenby rides on a horse up until Jaffa Gate, the City of Jerusalem, where he dismounts, and then enters the City on foot in reverence of it being “the Holy City.” As a God-fearing Christian, Allenby felt it unworthy to ride into the city of God on his white horse as a conqueror. He understood that honour was reserved for the Messiah who would some day enter Jerusalem on His white horse as written in Revelation 19:11. Allenby officially entered the Holy City (after it had been liberated on the 9^th of December, 1917) and declared the victory. The City of Jerusalem was liberated from 400 years of Turkish rule …and the Ottoman Empire was brought down. Allenby was a Bible-believing Christian. He carried a Bible with him everywhere he went and he knew the significance of Jerusalem. His mother had taught him as a child to say this prayer every night before going to sleep; “And, O Lord, we would not forget your Ancient people, Israel. Hasten the day when Israel shall again be your people and shall be restored to your favour and their land.”

The attack had originally been planned for the 8^th December, but the weather was extreme and rain was almost continuous. The hills surrounding Jerusalem were covered with a mist at frequent intervals, rendering observation from the air and visual signalling almost impossible. However the troops moved into position. The night before the attack against Jerusalem to drive out the Turks, Allenby prayed that God would allow him to capture the city without doing damage to the holy places.

That day, Allenby sent World War One biplanes over the city of Jerusalem to do a reconnaissance mission. You have to understand that the Turks had at that time never seen an airplane …so there they were, flying around. The Turks looked in the sky and saw these fascinating inventions and did not know what they were, and they were terrified by them. Allenby captured Jerusalem without firing a single shot! Why? The name Allenby had a mystical significance in Arabic. When read from left to right in Western style, the name is “Allah Nabi” which means “prophet of God.” When read from right to left in Arabic style it means, “Son of God.” In Turkish the name means, “Scourge of God.” When the Turks heard that a general named Allenby was coming to fight them, they ran away and no one was left to defend the city! Allenby said he NEVER knew that God would give him the privilege of answering his childhood prayer!  “Do not fear; for I am with you; be not dismayed; for I am your God. I will make you strong; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness. Behold, all those who were angered against you shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing. And those who fight with you shall perish. You shall seek them, and shall not find them; men warring against you shall be as nothing, and as ceasing.” Isaiah 41:10-12

The British government was grateful to Jewish people around the world, particularly to one Jewish chemist who helped them manufacture nitre an ingredient that was used in nitro-glycerine which was sent over from the New World. But they did not have a way of getting it to England. The German U-boats were shooting on the boats, so most of the nitre they were trying to import to make nitro-glycerine was at the bottom of the ocean. But a man named Weitzman, a Jewish chemist, discovered a way to make it from materials that existed in England. As a result, they were able to continue that supply. The British at that time said they were going to give the Jewish people a homeland. That is all written down in history. They were gratified that the Jewish people, the bankers, came through and helped finance the war.

Britain was one of the greatest empires in history until it turned its back on the Jews! At the end of the 19^th Century and the beginning of the 20^th Century, many leaders such as William Gladstone, James Balfour, and Edmund Allenby were Godly Christians. They believed that God had risen up the British Empire to spread the Gospel and assist the Jews in having their Ancient homeland restored. Today we call them Christian Zionists. This is one of the reasons why Britain issued the Balfour Declaration in 1917, which favoured the Jewish State. Sadly, later leaders did not have this same view, when they turned their backs to the Jews in favour of Arab oil… Britain lost its empire and Israel was re-born. Is America next…?

There is NO doubt that the events of 1917 was very prophetic and marked the beginning of end times because they led to the worldwide re-gathering of the Jewish people to their homeland and the re-establishment of the Jewish State. Since 1917 we have witnessed sign after sign that point to the Lord’s return!
