They are administering to this area from Church Headquarters, but the time may come soon when they are called to preach in Jerusalem, no? My sister further noted that all the other world areas are administered by a group, a whole presidency. But Middle East/Africa North has only these two.

15 Q. What is to be understood by the two witnesses, in the eleventh chapter of Revelation?
A. They are two prophets that are to be raised up to the Jewish nation in the last days, at the time of the restoration, and to prophesy to the Jews after they are gathered and have built the city of Jerusalem in the land of their fathers.
If you listen to the talks by these two men, they're talks that you'd expect from someone called to their position. Bruce D. Porter has a political science degree and Bruce A. Carlson has a military history and knowledge. They are clearly perfect for the calling they occupy. But I wonder if they will be the Two Witnesses or if two others will be raised up in their stead after the Great Tribulation. Thoughts?

ARE THE TWO WITNESSES IN PLACE?
Here is some interesting conjecture I shamelessly lifted to put out there - although I would speculate (as I did in an earlier post), that they are more my age (mid-40's) than 60-ish as these two servants are. I have been wrong before, though.....:

It could be or it could be a start of getting the people used to having 'two representative' of the church there. Two because the Muslim world is a dangerous place starting this Sunday the US embassies will close its doors to the Muslim world. And if it's them who knows when they would start their preaching? Or it could be two representatives are doing the Lords work in the middle east- it doesn't have to be the same- until THE two prophets come- these two representatives paving the way for the TWO prophets in the prophecy.
ReplyDeleteAbout 6 months back my brother suggested this same possibility to me, and I did some looking into it. At the time the 2 authorities over the area were Bruce D. Porter and Paul B. Pieper. Now Elder Pieper has been assigned elsewhere and Elder Carlson has been called.
ReplyDeleteIt mentions that it's odd that there are only 2 serving in this position, instead of the usual 3... but at the same time when there are 3 in an area presidency they actual live in the area they are serving in. These 2 are simply coordinating efforts from SLC.
Then I also ran across the part of Visions of Glory where Spencer specifies when the 2 prophets are called to go fulfill their calling. If I remember correctly he believes they were 2 of the 12 Apostles at the time. According to Spencer this was after the initial tribulations and they were already in the New Jerusalem building the temple. I'll have to go back and read through again on the exact timing.
While at first I also thought that these 2 Elders being called to the area was very interesting, I've come to believe that they are not the 2 who will fulfill that calling. Who knows though, about anything is possible.
The hairs on my arms are raising up. This is the first talk that came up when I looked up Elder Bruce D. Porter.

And WHOA!!!! Bruce A. Carlson is none other than FOUR STAR GENERAL of the United States Air Force now serving in the Quorum of the Seventy!

Okay, IRAQ, let's see where the Holy Ghost takes us on this one. This is just to cool brother and falls into place, does it not? WOW! I about fell over when I saw both Bruce A. Carlson's were the same person. AND isn't it something they're both named Bruce? TWO witnesses acting as ONE. I know there has to be something to that.
