THIS BLOG ATTEMPTS TO SHOW HOW SCIENCE IS CATCHING UP WITH REVEALED RELIGION

THIS BLOG IS AN ATTEMPT TO PUT ALL THE COOL STUFF THAT I BUMP INTO ABOUT THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST AND EVENTS THAT LEAD UP TO IT INTO ONE LOCATION.
THE CONTENTS WILL BE FROM AN LDS PERSPECTIVE. IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ANYTHING IN HERE, I DO NOT PARTICULARLY CARE TO ARGUE, UNLESS YOU CAN ADD TO THIS BODY OF WORK. I HAVE AN OPEN MIND, THAT IS WHY I READ STUFF FROM ALL DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES AND SEEK LEARNING FROM THE BEST BOOKS. I JUST AM NOT HERE TO ARGUE ABOUT IT - BUT TO PUT IT OUT THERE WHERE OTHERS CAN PERUSE/PURSUE IT. I TAKE PARTICULAR INTEREST IN HONEST SEEKERS OF TRUTH AND BELIEVE THAT SCIENCE IS REVEALED RELIGION'S BEST ALLY. YOU WILL SEE ALOT OF TOPICS IN THIS BLOG THAT SHOW SCIENCE BACKING - AND SLOWLY CATCHING UP WITH - REVEALED RELIGION.
ENJOY!!

COULD THE TWO PROPHETS BE MOSES AND ENOCH? TRUMAN MADSEN

This was an interesting line of thinking - and I would love to hear what else is out there that I have not heard on the topic.  As you may know, I believe we are on for showtime this fall

This is from a FB discussion and I said not possible (due to translated beings cannot taste death - but maybe not):

QUESTION:   Truman G. Madsen said in a talk at BYU in 1977 that Elijah and Enoch would be the two witnesses in Israel. Thought that was interesting. Both are translated.
ANSWER:  As far as I am understanding this explanation and the prophecy in the scriptures, a translated being will experience pain AND death right before their resurrection and the prophecy of them laying in the streets dead for 3 days happens 'right before' He comes. Notice the word UNTIL. I found all this on lds. org too so, straight from the source wink emoticon

3 Nephi 28:9–10, 36–40. The Doctrine of Translation
The following definitions help clarify the doctrines of translation, transfiguration, and resurrection. Notice the difference between translated beings and the more temporary state of transfiguration:
Translated beings. “Persons who are changed so that they do not experience pain or death until their resurrection to immortality” (Guide to the Scriptures, “Translated Beings”).

“Many have supposed that the doctrine of translation was a doctrine whereby men were taken immediately into the presence of God, and into an eternal fullness, but this is a mistaken idea. Their place of habitation is that of the terrestrial order, and a place prepared for such characters He held in reserve to be ministering angels unto many planets, and who as yet have not entered into so great a fullness as those who are resurrected from the dead” (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, 4:210). (Copied and pasted from Book of Mormon Student Study Manuel-Alma 46)

Hey, I like this. Maybe I can do another blog on the side with all my spare time, called "Ask Grumps"..... It would be a take-off of "Ask Gramps" - but I would provide snide/sarcastic answers that burn the ex-mo crowd and the haters out there......lol

  1. A woman I serve with in church grew up in New York. She shared with me that there was a boy in her stake in New York who was around her age. She said he was a real punk, always being irreverent and the like. However, in his patriarchal blessing he was told that he would be one of the two witnesses in Jeruselem. She says she has kept in touch with him over the years and he has matured a lot and is now living in Utah. He would be around 50 years old. I never asked for his name, but perhaps it is Enoch or Elijah...
