GAME OVER FOR MOST OF CALIFORNIA FOOD PRODUCTION?

Folks - in the Book of Mormon, it talks of general wickedness among the people and then a nation altering drought brought on by Prophets who called down the Powers of Heaven. I have not been able to ascertain who the Prophets are today - but I know they are the same ones who are described in Revelations who are given power to close the heavens (and later stop the armies of Gog/Magog), and we have a nation-altering drought going on right now.

I think there just MIGHT be a connection (sarcasm). I took the tour of Hoover Dam with my family around 18 months ago and they already said they were on a desperate track if the watershed did not receive crazy amounts of rain. They have not - and here we are with the latest "boots on the ground" report from Lake Mead:

I went to lake mead yesterday. The tour guide said they are at 70% power production as the water pressure is to low to spin the turbines. He also said the lake is falling 3 to 4 feet per week. The lake is now at 34% full. The guide said when it falls another 56 feet (approx 4 months) they can no longer produce power. He was packing his bags and moving next month (he called it his exit strategy) before all the staff lose their jobs. He also said at current rate the water would be to low for pipes that go to Las Vegas so they have to put a multi million dollar pumping station in to drain last drops. Max he said that will buy them is 24 months. The problem is the water will be to low to fill Colorado river very soon so all of the farm land all the way down with turn to dessert. This is will be a major disaster as no water = no food.

As a side note, when we were down to the south of Lake Havasu, as we made our way down to Baja for Christmas vacation, we saw about 50% of the land down there lying fallow. There simply is not enough water to keep it under cultivation, so they put a drought-resistant cover crop on the soil to keep it from blowing away and wait for rain (and drive their wells ever deeper).

The two prophets you are referring to are the two who will prophesize in Israel for 3 1/2 years, after which the evil hordes will be stayed no longer and they will enter Jerusalem and kill them. They will lie in the streets for three days and then rise again. These prophets will have the power to open or close the heavens. The drought in California and the Southwest are just a part of the last days - there will be many such happenings here and abroad regarding the forces of nature - be it earthquakes, weather or tsunamis' as the oceans leap their bounds. You try to hard to match things up - it really is much simpler than that - the scriptures are plain.

It's to be noted that the rains started to be withheld in California right after they defeated Prop 8. Coincidence?

WHY SHOULD WE STUDY THE HIDDEN THINGS RELATED TO THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST?

But the Latter-day Saints are not in darkness; they are the children of light, although many of us will actually be asleep. We shall have to wake up and trim up our lamps, or we shall not be prepared to enter in; for we shall all slumber and sleep in that day, and some will have gone to sleep from which they will not awake until they awake up in darkness without any oil in their lamps. JOSEPH SMITH SAID THOSE WHO ARE WATCHING AND WAITING, WILL KNOW THE HOUR:

"Christ says no man knoweth the day or the hour when the Son of Man cometh. This is a sweeping argument for sectarianism against Latter day ism. Did Christ speak this as a general principle throughout all generations Oh no he spoke in the present tense no man that was then liveing upon the footstool of God knew the day or the hour But he did not say that there was no man throughout all generations that should not know the day or the hour. John the revelator says 14 chap 7th verse that the hour of his judgements is come they are precursers or forerunners of the comeing of Christ. read Matthew 24 Chap and all the Prophets. He says then shall they see the Sign of the comeing of the Son of Man in the clouds of Heaven. How are we to see it Ans. As the lighting up of the morning or the dawning of the morning cometh from the east and shineth unto the west—So also is the comeing of the Son of Man. The dawning of the morning makes its appearance in the east and moves along gradualy so also will the comeing of the Son of Man be. it will be small at its first appearance and gradually becomes larger untill every eye shall see it. Shall the Saints understand it Oh yes. Paul says so. Shall the wicked understand Oh no they attribute it to a natural cause.
