If we are doing it right, this stuff should be part of our earthly experience.
The endowment teaches it. I would NEVER get wrapped around the axle if it did not happen, but I would wonder if there were something I were doing that was an impediment to this, such as sin/lack of faith/lack of knowledge of God's condescension to man/lack of desire to receive further light and knowledge from a Heavenly Parent who desires the best for His children.

Just a note here. I say that I listen to it. Usually, I will listen to something three or four times and finally get the most out of it after repetition, picking up a little here and a little there.
I like to be doing a few things at the same time to get the most out of my time, when I am doing mindless things at work.
