Well, there are few unmistakable things as you look around the world for similar cultural threads as common Jewish customs among the peoples of the earth. One that blew my mind was the similarity of a he'iau (temple platform CLICK LINK) found throughout the islands of Hawaii. These are clearly ceremonial places using by the ancient Hawaiian peoples to worship their diety according to a newly-arrived co-worker.
I mentioned something to him about an earlier experience I had blogged about where I found a temple platform out in the middle of a lava field that dropped my jaw. Here is a picture of what one looks like:

These have the three levels (courtyards) separating the outer, inner and holy of holies. This pattern is found all over including exact replicas of the foundation patterns of Solomon's Temple from the Gaza area all the way to the Americas. A marker of a people who wanted to leave their calling card to ends of the islands of the seas that they were driven to.
Truly fascinating stuff that surely feels at home in the Wood Zone.
I am curious of how and what information that you know that the two prophets in the last days are the same age as you? I am so curious.

ReplyDeleteI will attempt to do one more deep dive and try and find that information and then blog it. While on my mission, I always asked a doctrinal question and I got the answer. I had two independent and random things that confirmed the age of the two prophets. One was a companion from Las Vegas the whetted my curiosity on the matter by providing some info to which I then prayed and then was led to read a Conference talk by Marion G. Romney around 1982 (not sure which conf) that stated that the two prophets had already come into the world and were preparing themselves with the Aaronic Priesthood (they would have been at least 12 at that time - as was I) for their future role in Jerusalem. I have the feeling that they are within a few years of my age. I mentioned this years later to someone and then took the challenge to source it - and could not do it using electronic means and I have not taken the task on of reading all printed Ensign versions of conference between 1980 thru 1984 until I hit on the talk I read back in California on my mission while I was waiting for my visa to Brazil. One of the more frustrating dead ends I have run into - because the implications for timelines is huge. Those boys will be around 70-75 years old by the time 2033 rolls around..... I don't think the two prophets will be anything less than saged GA's. I have always looked at Bednar with interest, personally.....
Thank you for the reply. since I got married I came to the realization of the reality of it all, the destruction, uncertainty and my wickedness of that I am unprepared to see our God and that I would burn in his presence. So then I took it upon myself a few months back that I would be close to our Lord by reading the scriptures and praying etc. The first time that I did this I felt peace in my soul that everything would be okay. After that it lifted my doubts and the burden of fear that I am carrying. I do not know if I am gonna survive what is going to befall us all since I am only 26, however, I felt that if I was going to die anyway, it would be alright because if I strive to be on the straight and narrow path to the end and prove to the Lord that I am His servant forever then at the time that death will stare me at the face then I would be at peace with the Lord and I know that is the only thing that matters.
