These numbers are staggering.... One trillion dollars in one hundred dollar bills would cover an American football field 8.5 feet deep.
It boggles the mind what the global debt would be like:

Who owns this debt? It is not just the Chinese buying US treasuries.... When you possess wealth from securing this kind of debt, when is it enough?
This is why we are taught to work towards having sufficient for our needs and to succor the poor and the needy. If we can create wealth (and therefore, debt) out of thin air, why not build tiny homes for veterans and the mentally ill instead of leaving them to suffer on the streets?
The sin of Sodom was not as much about the rampant sexual immorality as it was about the selfishness created when those who had, refused to give of their substance to succor the poor and the needy. The sexual sin was an outgrowth of or a manifestation of that selfish culture of depriving others of “that which is most precious”.
This is crux of what happened at Viking. From the bottom to the top, there were people struggling with various levels of this (I do not judge as I am imperfect in my thoughts; thoughts then words then actions....). At the very top, the VP of HR apparently slept her way to the top with the CFO (per many unsolicited comments from coworkers during my tenure there; her shame is an open secret).... When my concerns and statements about mis-treatment over my deeply-held beliefs on chastity made their way to her desk, she was likely convicted. I am sure her flying from Victoria to Calgary to personally fire me was a great source of satisfaction to her.
Well, the Law of the Harvest is now in effect as well as Alma44. God will do as He sees fit with her. He loves her just as much as He loves me. BUT, there is justice delayed for a heavenly reckoning and there is earthly justice. Sometimes all one, sometimes all the other. Sometimes a mix.
The fact is this; this life is a time to prepare to meet God. If someone has strayed, God will gently merge them back onto the path. Sometimes He will do it in a dramatic way. I have had both and certainly seen both.
When I get a moment, I will revisit some dramatic examples and I am sure a few more examples will emerge from this. Sometimes we have to go through terrible things to gain a new vision; to see things with our spiritual eyes, so to speak. Sometimes, that means letting go of our physical senses and reaching out of the darkness to the light where there is truth and love.
If we start that journey from a position of spiritual strength, it is an opportunity for incredible growth. If not, it is often a chastisement to bring us to a place where we can effectively see God’s light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
