OUR AWFUL STATE

And I am not talking Washington state....

Folks - just following some basic logic here.

I have many people that absolutely resist the notion that VoG could happen to our people (LDS) or our nation.

I find it refreshing when I come across someone who drinks the purple kool-aid like a rabid diabetic on a binge.  My best peeps are always the ones who understand that we are on the short run to the end and that we are in a world of hurt.  Many times, they will have other insights into the destruction that awaits us.

People I struggle with are the "All is Well in Zion" crowd.  They were alive and well in Isaiah's/Lehi's day as well as in Christ's and Abinadi's day.  Always the same thing.  I trust them about as far as I can kick them.  Precisely because their rose colored glasses are a little too thick-lensed for my tastes.  I cannot fault a person for trying to be the optimist - but when unbridled optimism borders on the delusional, I take exception.

When the attacks on the PS&RTs and those with gifts start raining down, I see the darkness of their ways and usually go on the attack myself, trying to expose them for who they are.  I have several people in my wife's family and in my own that would rather that I shut up.  They have proven themselves to be "heads in the sand" kinds of people through other actions.  I simply do not trust their judgment, nor their character.  As the Book of Mormon has proven (history has a way of repeating itself, does it not?), they usually have a murderous spirit about them - and, as I have said before, they would most likely take the life of Jesus all over again, if He were to make His appearance in no form of glory.  When we see him again in SLC after the destruction, those who remain will be overjoyed to be part and parcel of that scene.  The rest?  They will be moldering in the earth - or on it, as the case may be.

Fact is this - and it is the reason that Spencer has chosen to remain anonymous, though I have sought him out for personal reasons:  if we are destroyed to the level that we will be destroyed in this massive quake that is coming, then we are a fallen people who no longer merit the blessings of the Lord.  We are the salt of the earth who has lost it's savor and are good for nothing, but to be cast out.  To be sure, 90% will be cast out.  We, as a people, have fallen.  Those who have remained relatively un-sullied from the things of this world will merit going on.

I will take this logical train to the next stop and state that, likely, my impressions (with a little help from my friends) of the endowment, must be correct.  We just took two steps back.

The only thing that will get us through is grace, charity, lack of guile, mighty repentance and change of heart, power in the Priesthood and the Atonement and so much else that the modern Prophets have tried to gently nurture us to.  God will have an innocent and pure people to start the next phase of this earth's existence.  It is a narrow or strait thing that we must pass through.  Few there be that find it.

I recently ran into a woman from Arizona who has had a MIGHTY change of heart.  She even has stated herself that she does not recognize herself from even a year ago.  When I find one, I do a deep dive on them (read; stalker) and you can clearly see the change from the fallen woman to quite an amazing countenance filled with light.  She obviously has gotten that, in order to make it through this and have a place holder in the Millennium for her and her children, the mighty change must come about.  My only concern as I see this transformation, is that those who have this mighty change, are able to bring their spouse along with them on the journey.  It will not do to be unequally yoked in this endeavor.

Anyway - yes, if you accept VoG, then you must accept that we are worse than we really are on the surface.
