COMING PANDEMIC NUMBERS

 I have made the statement many times that after all of the tribulations are over, only one tenth will be around.  Whether that is among the "fair ones" who had been given so much, but embraced a standard well below their station, or whether that is the world in general (700,000,000 is still a ton of people, at about the population of Europe and the USA/Canada combined), I do not know.  I just know that great are the words of Isaiah.  There will be many who have striven who will not make it.  It will also be the means for the Lord to clear the field of those who love and make a lie; and thus who follow the father of all lies.  2 Nephi 9:34

I have no keys - just gut feels to go by - but if Utah takes a hit for all the reasons outlined in the previous blog piece, then by association, Cardston will take a hit in some weighted measure, or another.  We cannot escape it.  Most here are oblivious at the eyewall that is upon us - but probably far less than the world in general.  Many are waiting for the moment when they can come to be with us.  Why do some people sense it, and others not?  

Why did Jesus get passed over by so many?  How did some see Him for what He was - and others not?  Were those who could not see, or sense His greatness responsible for the lack of seeing, hearing and acting?  Did they deserve to be wiped out en-masse and then driven to the four corners of the globe for their indolence within the predicted generation?  Did their temple save them?  When they locked themselves in it, expecting to be saved by their Jehovah/Messiach - was it a fair return on their spiritual investment to be burned alive?  What was the breaking or turning point, where they had ventured past the point of no return?

When a nuclear event strikes hundreds of thousands in the northern Utah area, are all of them worthy of that end?  Bishops, Stake Presidents, mothers/fathers, innocent children.  I have seen it.  Not survivable within 10-12 miles of ground zero.  Are many others worthy of the massive quake?  The wave coming off of the GSL?  The starvation, cold and untold suffering among the rest of the ensuing events?  Why have some been given warnings to move and others not?  Why do some, knowing or having been warned of what is coming, still persist in Ogden or on the benches up by the UoU?  Why do some receive warnings and others not?  If Spencer does not alter his future by leaving the home that he sees collapse in his visions, did he just ignore a warning he was given?  If my family in Utah suffers to some degree or another; despite the warnings, where does their responsibility end and that of those on the watch tower end?

All very good questions.  I ron into the guy at the hardware store recently and asked him how he came to the conclusion that I am crazy - likely for the views and thoughts above.  If he is not prepared, nor his family, am I obligated to put out food for him and let another or an innocent child struggle with little or no food or clean water?  If the Lord lets good people in and around Ogden perish, does the hardware store guy weigh above them in the balance?  Do I measure above that, or do the scales sink contrary to my hope?  How does Cardston measure against those in Logan, from whence many here came?  I think these are all good questions to ask.

I ask them every time I read Helaman and 3 Nephi.  We are living those chapters right now.  Slightly different circumstances - but similar things plus a few twists like a desolating scourge which I believe we are about to experience (in the third wave).

So, we have interesting questions to ask.  We each need to take inventory of ourselves, our families, our communities, our nations and the world.  Where much is given, much is required.
