FREEDOM TO SAY WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID ACROSS THE PULPIT

President Donald Trump's Congress about to turn back something that Lyndon "the bane of my existence, who lives up to his last name" Johnson brought about back in the 1950's.  I did not know the history on this - and yet one more thing to loathe the guy for:

I would love to see a lot more calling out over the pulpit.  It drives me nearly crazy to be part of any organization that espouses the PC movement in any shape or form.  We should just say things as they are; Isaiah/Lehi/Jeremiah-style.  And if it so be that we end up dead for speaking the truth, so be it.  It is a fine legacy to be part of.  I hear that the retirement bennies happen to be awesome....

And on that note, please never cease to pray for Trump's safety from the wolves.  Apparently, he is firing the SS staff from the legacy whorehouse.  I think we will see a general purge of nearly all the legacy staff including food service.  At least that is how I would roll - if I were doing things in that environment.

Speaking of safety and protections, I am still so physically weak from that Texas-style cold last week that I determined that I would not be able to get work on my wife's project car done - so I headed to the temple where the pace is more sedate.  In the second session, there was an older fellow who took probably a minimum of 10 mins to don the robes each time.  I am guessing that he had some sort of motor skills issue and could not tie things easily.  I shed some tears for him - knowing how easily I have always had it in my life; yet still complain frequently to the Lord over relatively trivial little things.  How petty we can be...... :(

When we were putting away our robes after, he introduced himself and beamed, letting me know that this was the first time that he had been able to completely dress himself during a session.  He is 69 years old.  Well, he headed off to the locker room and, as things would be, we had the same locker cubicle.  I took the one next to where my bag was and stripped down as much as I could, knowing I would have to go around the corner when the cubicle was free.

If it was less than 20 mins listening to him struggle with his buttons, I would be surprised.  He talked to each one and I even heard a few choice words slip over them.  The frustration must be extreme for him.  While I was there waiting quietly and pondering life and being positive, I had the thought, "Maybe I will avoid an accident by being hung up here at the temple.  This might be the Lord's hand at work - be patient."

Sure enough, I took my normal route home and as I rolled up on a sea of tail lights, an ambulance was riding my tail, and then a fire truck right behind that rig.  They were the first ones to arrive on-scene.  I had to use my larger rig to honk and bully the smaller cars out of the way since there was no shoulder on either side for the emergency folks to get down.  I headed for the exit and was able to get a good view of the carnage from the side road.  Several cars were wasted and one was hanging precariously from a guard rail upside down.  Basically, a high speed spinout with many, many cars involved.  One in the oncoming lane - and they were slowed down.

So, yeah.  Never get angry or lose patience with what seem like roadblocks that are in your way.  Just roll with it - and count your blessings.

Unless those roadblocks are spiritual - then raise heck and don't shut up until positive change happens!

  1. Give me Ezra Taft Benson or a man just like him enveloped in the flames of the Spirit of God to preach to me across the pulpit when it comes to politics or come not near me. Nothing else will ever do. Nothing!
