THE HALF HOUR OF SILENCE IN THE HEAVENS

I find alot of good stuff on LDSFF and this is one of those little tid-bits that seems to really seems to make sense. I feel the Lord will come (in glory) sometime between 2029-2036 - and that the half hour of silence is indeed 21 years in the Lord's reckoning (1000/24 = 42; and half of 42 =21).

I am not entirely sure I have any prophetic utterances that support this, but I feel confident that it is solid.

Please be a little patient with me as I bring up yet again the 7th seal. Because our cannonized scriptures D&C 77 specifically says that those things of the 1st 1000 years are of the 1st seal up to the 7th. From the Prophet Joseph Smith, is it over simplifiying to say we are in the 7th seal based on the calendar.

I'm just saying, the Prophet put it into the D&C in the most plain terms. I'm thinking there was a reason for that. Why all the specifics about the meridian of time, etc if time itself had no merit?

Is the 1/2 hour of silence when the Lord preaches to the world through earthquakes, famines, pestilence, etc? Is it a "type" of when He opened His ministry at the age of 12 and began to preach Himself? Meaning, that since He preached 21 years, 33 (death) - 12 (beginning of ministry)= 21 years approx. Could this possibly be a coincidence that the 1/2 hour of silence =21 years. I don't think so.

There is no scripture anywhere that says that the half hour of silence mentioned in Revelations equals a period of time upon the earth. To have a 21 year period of silence from the prophets or from the Lord would certainly be important enough to mention explicitly.

The half hour of silence meant to convey the reverential awe at the importance of the occasion - the end of the earth's mortal history.

In the book "Understanding the book of Revelation" the author points out that in many places in the Bible the phrase "being silent" refers to God not passing judgment on the wicked. When there is silence in heaven no judgments are sent upon the earth. God breaks the silence by sending judgments.

Example: Psalms 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. see also Isa. 65:6 and Ps. 83:1-2

This would allow many things to happen in the 21 year period and still let the wicked stew and ripen in their iniquity.

But the Latter-day Saints are not in darkness; they are the children of light, although many of us will actually be asleep. We shall have to wake up and trim up our lamps, or we shall not be prepared to enter in; for we shall all slumber and sleep in that day, and some will have gone to sleep from which they will not awake until they awake up in darkness without any oil in their lamps. JOSEPH SMITH SAID THOSE WHO ARE WATCHING AND WAITING, WILL KNOW THE HOUR:

"Christ says no man knoweth the day or the hour when the Son of Man cometh. This is a sweeping argument for sectarianism against Latter day ism. Did Christ speak this as a general principle throughout all generations Oh no he spoke in the present tense no man that was then liveing upon the footstool of God knew the day or the hour But he did not say that there was no man throughout all generations that should not know the day or the hour. No for this would be in flat contradiction with other scripture for the prophet says that God will do nothing but what he will reveal unto his Servants the prophets consequently if it is not made known to the Prophets it will not come to pass; again we find Paul 1st of Thesslonians 5th Chapter expressly points out the characters who shall not know the day nor the hour when the Son of Man cometh for says he it will come upon them as the theif or unawares. Who are they they are the children of darkness or night. But to the Saints he says yea are not of the night nor of darkness of that that day should come upon you unawares. John the revelator says 14 chap 7th verse that the hour of his judgements is come they are precursers or forerunners of the comeing of Christ. read Matthew 24 Chap and all the Prophets. He says then shall they see the Sign of the comeing of the Son of Man in the clouds of Heaven. How are we to see it Ans. As the lighting up of the morning or the dawning of the morning cometh from the east and shineth unto the west—So also is the comeing of the Son of Man. The dawning of the morning makes its appearance in the east and moves along gradualy so also will the comeing of the Son of Man be. it will be small at its first appearance and gradually becomes larger untill every eye shall see it. Shall the Saints understand it Oh yes. Paul says so. Shall the wicked understand Oh no they attribute it to a natural cause. They will probably suppose it is two great comets comeing in contact with each other It will be small at first and will grow larger and larger untill it will be all in a blaze so that every eye shall see it."
