THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS WITH A CONSECRATED PERSON

So I have a neighbor here in Calgary who is retired, obviously bored and is harassing my house-mates and I.  He got into it with the guy upstairs who is responsible for mowing the lawn and shoveling the walk in front of the house.  He is former RCMP and is connected with folks down at City Hall.

He has been flinging the poo - probably saying stuff that is not true and trying to have them levy a fine against the homeowner for improper yard maintenance.  It is all fun to watch.  Last fall, the guy complained about my vehicle tire being on the curb by six inches.  They towed my vehicle and the trailer I was towing.  It cost around $600 to get the whole thing out of the impound lot.  I was roasting mad.  BUT because of that, I saved about $2,000 in costs associated with having to license all of my rolling stock here in Canada when someone at the licensing place correctly interpreted the law.  I have come to the conclusion that Canada is a typical socialist state - smack-down central; along with so many regs that the economy is strangled.  The billable hour for aerospace up here is approaching $200 while it is closer to $125 per hour in the states.  Most of that is overhead due to over-reaching regulation and government interference.  Horrible overreach and mis-management on many levels.  My Aunt who has lived here all her life told me some wild stories about how she took on a corrupt hospital board up here.  She is scrappy (like me) and she shook the whole mess to the core.  I sure love people with values and morals.

I have tried to stay politically neutral up here as a new citizen - but then I found out a few weeks ago that a corrupt RCMP who was former LDS found some loophole in the law and swept in with some of his cronies and literally smacked down the preppers in the Cardston area about 6-7 years ago.  Stake Presidents even caved and named names of people who were guilty of the crime of having too much food and preparedness items.  Folks - THAT hacks me off to no end.  I am now on the warpath.  I will do nothing of myself - but I will lay down some prayers on behalf of this RCMP puke - he needs to go down with the rest of the corruption, where ever it may be.  Trump-style, to be sure.....

I was praying to know what to do at the temple tonight and I opened the scriptures and got my answer in Alma 33:

9 Yea, O God, thou hast been merciful unto me, and heard my cries in the midst of thy congregations.
10 Yea, and thou hast also heard me when I have been cast out and have been despised by mine enemies; yea, thou didst hear my cries, and wast angry with mine enemies, and thou didst visit them in thine anger with speedy destruction.
11 And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son.

Well, I am afraid that this is going to hurt this guy.  I feel for him- because every time I have said a special prayer and pled my case, the fur sure does seem to fly.  Often, the consequences are quite serious (previous blog post).  God has this thing......  There just are certain types of people......  I had a plumber once who was of the same corrupt persuasion.  Just simply an arse who loves to harass people.  School of hard knocks.....  People can choose to live by the Golden Rule - or they can choose to suffer from their own indolence reflected right back on themselves and magnified at least ten-fold.
