I am listening to this while cleaning the garage:

  1. Any ideas why VOG doesn't mention anything about being called out to places of refuge? This seems to me to be a big disparity between what Julie Rowe saw and what Spencer saw. A "calling out" is comforting...but will it really happen?

    1. I agree - Spencer had no call out and on the day of the big EQ he drove from his home to the Church Office Building. Julie Rowe says there will be a call out before the big EQ. The other big problem with Julie Rowe is that every time she is asked about something new (something that has not already been talked about by another NDE) there is a long pause and then she says that she knows about it and then skirts the answer. I read VOG and I can say that it made me a better person with the spiritual truth shared. With Julie Rowe there seems to be so many inconsistencies with how she presents things. On the one hand she will say "that is not my mission" and then turn around and address something that seems to be unrelated to any mission. I also have a problem with anyone selling their experience with God. I know Sarah Menet gives all proceeds from her book to the missionary effort. I dont know what Spencer does with his.

    2. Remember that Spencer and Julie saw things in their own futures. Spencer's vision of the future begins after the call outs would have happened. Perhaps he felt prompted to stay behind to help; he is currently serving as a bishop. I feel the Spirit when I read both of these visions, but I am careful not to try to interpret what they mean exactly. For me, they were sources of hope and excitement about the future. They helped me delve into the scriptures with more enthusiasm. Isaiah fit together more for me now that I have ways to visualize one way things may unfold. As for the cost of the books. Books cost money. Even the Bible and the Book of Mormon and books by apostles cost money. I'm sure that if Spencer and Julie were righteous enough to be shown these things, and to keep them secret until the right time, they will be righteous with the use of any money that comes to him from these special books.

  2. I haven't read Visions of Glory, but Julie does says in The Time is Now that "Not every faithful Church member will head for the hills, so to speak. I was shown that some Saints will be asked to stay behind to take care of Temple Square, the Conference Center, and the surrounding Church buildings. Throughout the nation, faithful Saints will stay behind to watch over other temples, meetinghouses, Church- owned farms, and so on." Perhaps Spencer is asked to stay behind to keep an eye on things. I'm looking forward to reading his account.
