WHY WE CHOSE MONTANA - CHUCK BALDWIN'S ESSAY

Chuck Baldwin (2008 Constitution Party candidate) recently relocated about 2 miles from our place outside Kalispell. He didn't mention the greatest reason we had for moving there (which is that 70-80% of the people are regular church-goers, but he had some great words on why MT is such a great state. Last weekend, we had people visit us here in the Flathead Valley of Montana from at least eight states: Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. And since my family and I moved here last October, people have moved here from at least a dozen states. And many more are in the process of moving or trying to move.
As I was speaking with an out-of-State guest last Sunday, he asked me, what was it that made you decide to move to Montana's Flathead Valley, as opposed to Idaho or some other State? Of course, that is a very fair question. I will attempt to answer that question in today's column. As a Christian, I believe that "the steps of a trusting man are ordered by the Lord." So, ultimately, I believe that the superintending hand of God guides and directs those who put their trust in Him. Accordingly, I believe that our move from Florida to Montana was directed by divine providence. What follows are the reasons, factors, and philosophies that guided us to this wonderful valley.
Cities
During the 18 months between the summer of 2008 and the end of 2009, I traveled more than 60,000 miles to virtually every area of this vast country. I traveled from coast to coast and border to border. I visited huge cities and small villages. There were only a handful of states that I did not visit during that span of time.
As I traveled the country, it became very obvious to me that not every place shares the same love for and understanding of freedom. I quickly discovered that Thomas Jefferson was right when he said that big cities were the "bane" of freedom. And there are almost no exceptions to the fact that the bigger the city is, the less freedom there is. Furthermore, it is also an accurate observation that those states that are dominated by big cities (which most states are) the more difficult it is for freedom-loving people in those states to be able to actually resist the juggernaut of oppression and socialism.
Chicago is why the people in Illinois are losing their liberties; Baltimore is why the people in Maryland are losing their liberties; Atlanta is why the people in Georgia are losing their liberties; St. Louis and Kansas City are why the people in Missouri are losing their liberties; Dallas and Houston are why the people in Texas are losing their liberties; Los Angeles and San Francisco are why the people of California are losing their liberties; Portland is why the people of Oregon are losing their liberties; Seattle is why the people of Washington State are losing their liberties; Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orlando are why the people of Florida are losing their liberties; Birmingham is why the people of Alabama are losing their liberties, etc., etc.
In order for freedom to be defended, it will require a State, or group of states, to draw a line in the sand against this assault against our liberties, which, for the most part, is being orchestrated by Washington, D.C., and its allies in the big cities. We deduced that freedom-loving people in any State dominated by one (or a handful) of major metropolitan areas are almost helpless to defend this globalist, socialist juggernaut that is steamrolling the country.
This was a major reason that we selected Montana over Idaho (our second choice). California liberals are leaving the land of fruits and nuts like rats off a sinking ship. The economic conditions in California are driving people to surrounding states in record numbers. And many of them are flocking to the beautiful city of Boise. It's very possible that Boise will fast become another Portland or Seattle. If this happens, the great freedom-loving State of Idaho will quickly go the way of Oregon and Washington State.
The beauty of Montana is it has no major cities that dominate the State. Missoula (home of the University of Montana) is the most liberal city in the State. The population there is a little over 90,000. Billings is the largest city in the State, and it is largely a Republican area. The population there is just over 100,000. To give readers an idea of Montana geographics: Montana is the fourth largest State in total land area (behind Alaska, Texas, and California), but the total population of the State is UNDER one million. Here's another statistic to help readers understand what I'm saying: we live just outside the town of Kalispell. The population of Kalispell is around 20,000. And Kalispell is the seventh LARGEST city in the State! Montana's lack of large metropolitan areas is a huge asset to the defense of liberty, in our opinion.
People
As I traveled those 60,000-plus miles, I met a huge variety of people. And there is no doubt that there are freedom-loving people scattered all over "the fruited plain." But, that's the problem: they are SCATTERED. I found some wonderful freedom lovers in South Carolina, New Hampshire, Eastern Tennessee (especially in the Johnson City area), Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Eastern Washington State, Utah, and the Dakotas. That is not to say that there are not thousands of freedom lovers in other states. There most certainly are!
But I also observed that people who are dependent upon the federal government are much more tolerant of the machinations of the federal government. And if you live in an area that has a large population of welfare-dependents or federal government-dependants, you are going to find yourself pretty much alone when you attempt to "rally the troops" against federal usurpation of power. (And, yes, we have some of that problem here in Montana, too.)
But during my extensive travels, I had the opportunity to come speak in Western Montana on several occasions. I spoke in the rural town of Hamilton to a crowd of around 800 enthusiastic patriots. I spoke in Missoula to several hundred. I spoke in Kalispell to a crowd of over 500 on a below-zero weeknight. When I first visited the Kalispell area, a local State legislator put out one email to some friends and supporters telling them I would be speaking to a small gathering outside of town. His email was sent less than 24 hours from the time that I would be speaking. In that short time, with only one email as publicity, there were some 100 people in attendance to hear me speak -- including several pastors, businessmen, physicians, and State legislators and senators. I spoke for an hour and we had Q & A for an hour. It was amazing!
I can tell you that I could take out a full-page ad in the newspaper and spend thousands of dollars in advertising a similar event in the town where I had lived in Florida for over 35 years, and if two-dozen people showed up, it would be a miracle. That's a difference in people!
My family and I believe that there are very traumatic, tumultuous days ahead for our country. We wanted to be with like-minded patriots who truly understand that there is a conspiracy at the highest levels of government, business, and religion to sell America to the forces of evil. We wanted to be around people who wouldn't give us that "deer-in-the-headlights" stare if we dared to question the official story of 9/11, or act like they're looking at a Martian when we talk about the sinister military-industrial complex, or the evilness of fighting perpetual foreign wars, or the unconstitutionality of the Patriot Act, or the evilness of sending trillions of dollars to foreign countries, or the ruination of our country via deficit spending, or the wickedness of the Federal Reserve, ad infinitum, ad nauseam. And while Montana has its share of liberals, socialists, and environmentalist wackos, we have found more freedom-minded people (on the whole) in the Flathead Valley of Montana than anywhere else we've been.
I've been sold out and betrayed by these "good Christians" who are more statists than they are Christians, who love the government more than they love God, and who will assist the [powers to be] PTB in putting principled freedomists in jail -- or worse! I want to spend the rest of my life among people who love freedom (and understand what that means) and who are willing to fight and die to protect it! Mountains and Location
As I said, we were very attracted to Eastern Tennessee, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arizona. But at the end of the day, we believed these states lack some key ingredients necessary to defending liberty. Arizona and Texas are on the southern border, which presents huge problems all their own. Oklahoma might have the best State legislators in the country right now, but the State is landlocked. The same is true for Missouri. Who around them will come to their assistance against federal encroachment?
As we analyzed the states (well, to be honest, we did not even consider Massachusetts or California. Sorry. Any state that would deny us the right to keep and bear arms was a State that we dismissed out-of-hand), we quickly eliminated all states east of the Mississippi River for geopolitical reasons: too many military installations, or too close to the belly of the beast, or too flat, or too isolated from "friendlies," or too inhospitable to freedom principles, etc. And it wasn't long before we felt strongly attracted to the mountain states of America's great northwest: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, Wyoming, and Utah. Colorado was dismissed for the same reason other states were dismissed: one huge metropolitan area dominates the entire State.
During this time, I also did much searching of the scriptures relative to the subject of mountains, and I was very impressed with all the positive things God's Word has to say about them. There is no question that this search was as much spiritual as it was geopolitical, or anything else! (I'll let readers do their own research of the scriptures, if they are of a mind to do so.)
Weather
We determined that the cold weather climate of Montana was an asset, not a liability! Why? Because it keeps out undesirables: people who are comfort-oriented and not liberty-oriented! Let the "beautiful people" go to California or Hawaii or Florida. People who live in the mountains live here for reasons other than weather and personal comfort. And when what's coming actually comes, we will need rugged people who mean business, not people who are looking for a sunroom!
Firearms
As I mentioned above, we refuse to live in any State that does not recognize and respect our right as free men and women to keep and bear arms. I am convinced that, humanly speaking, the only reason there is a modicum of liberty left in these States United is the presence of nearly 100 million firearms held in the private possession of the American people. As such, any State to which we would relocate had to be firearm friendly.
Montana just might be the most gun friendly State in the entire country. Consider: the average home in Montana has 27 firearms in it. 27! Compared to most places, the crime rate in this State is extremely low. And a major reason for the peace and tranquility of this State is the fact that the vast majority of Montanans are armed and prepared to use those arms in their own defense.
Even most Democrats in Montana stand steadfast in the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Example: it was the two Democrat US Senators from Montana that, in essence, killed newly elected President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder's attempt to resurrect the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. During the US Supreme Court Heller case deliberations, it was a Democrat Montana State administration that wrote a letter to the court and to the Obama administration warning them that when Montana joined the Union in 1889, it did so under the agreement that the federal government recognized the right of individuals to keep and bear arms, and that if now the federal government was refusing to recognize the right of the people to keep and bear arms, the State of Montana would consider its contract with the federal government (i.e., its entrance into the Union) to be null and void!
In addition, open carry is lawful throughout the State of Montana. That's how deeply the citizens of Montana regard the right to armed self-defense. Plus, Montana is in the middle of a region of states that regard the Second Amendment just as dearly.
When push comes to shove (and it will), to be among people who are willing to fight and die to preserve their right of self-defense was a major factor as our family deliberated relocation.
Conclusion
I don't think I have to convince many readers that America cannot continue on the same path it's on forever. There is a day of reckoning coming, and everybody who has half a brain knows it! And another thing, more and more of us are waking up to is the fact that neither major party in Washington, D.C., is going to fix it. At this point, I don't think it can be fixed in Washington! The only hope for freedom's survival is stalwart, independent, courageous people defending liberty one State at a time. And we (my family and I) believe that the mountain states are the last best hope for freedom in North America. And now you know a few of the reasons why we chose Montana.

Let me hasten to say that I completely understand that not every freedom-minded patriot would feel inclined to relocate to the mountain states, or anywhere else! Nor should they. God is bigger than any one State or region, and He will doubtless lead His children in different ways, to different areas, and to different works. Neither am I suggesting that those of us who relocate to the mountain states are any more spiritual or any more patriotic than those who do not. I do not believe that in any shape, form, or fashion! I am simply sharing with my readers how God led us.
But I will also add that there is no question in my mind that God is bringing a remnant to Montana. I see it up close and personal every day! The gathering of eagles has begun! What it all means is yet to be seen. From the bottom of my heart, I am as excited as a kid in a candy store just to be part of it -- all the betrayals and trials associated with this move notwithstanding!

FLATHEAD VALLEY AS A PLACE OF REFUGE

Well, another stellar day. We got up a little late and got to church a little late to one of the Kalispell wards, as well. Well, there is always a silver lining. We bumped into a friendly sister in the hall and became acquainted. Turns out she had circumstances that propelled her to that area a few years back. We promised to exchange information after Sacrament Mtg. We heard one of the best talks we have heard in a while from a High Councilman on receiving personal revelation - which is dependent on three things; desire, personal worthiness and willingness to act on it once you receive it. That hit a home run with me....

After the meeting, we went over to talk to our hall acquaintance and exchanged information. After doing so, the sister sitting next to her who had slipped in late (the Bishop's wife) greeted us and told us she was glad we were there and that many people were being directed to the area sometimes unsure why and then she blurted out that the Kalispell area is one of the places of gathering as designated by Pres Ezra T. Benson in a 1947 area conference. We looked at each other and tears welled up in our eyes. Perhaps she was one of the few I know of that is awake?? Sure enough, I briefly quizzed her and she is aware of the Sols Guardisto vision. One who is watching and waiting - and anxiously engaged in a good work. I had an instant good friend. Her good husband, the bishop came up and greeted us and asked us where we would be choosing to live. There have been many coming into the area - even though jobs are scarce and opportunities limited. I think the next few years will prove interesting indeed.

AND THERE WILL BE A MIGHTY WIND STORM

If you consider the words of Mother Mary Shipton that I have featured on this blog, you will know that she has predicted a large wind to accompany the radical changes to the earth. That would coincide what modern scripture has given us in the way of the Doctrine and Covenants.

I have always thought it might be handy to have access to a cave or a good tunnel with concrete re-inforcement for that period of time.....

PRICE OF WHEAT WILL SKYROCKET THIS YEAR

I am over in Montana right now setting up our next situation. In the local rag, the headline article declares that rust is invading the local crops (and across the US) due to a wet spring. One of the local farmers in the valley says that this is the worst he has seen it in the 25 years he has been wheat farming.

This is one of the signs that Bishop John Koyle said would happen the year of the total collapse (where there wouldn't be any financial institutions left).

This rust fungal infestation on top of our existing 30% increase in prices YOY, will cause a spike on top of a spike - which ultimately will lead to food riots in most third world nations. And then after our collapse, in our third world nation....

What I am trying to say is GET YOUR FOOD STORAGE NOW!!!

THE EARTH WILL BE RENEWED AND RECIEVE ITS PARADISAICAL GLORY

AOF 10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

Wow - what a mouthful. I love the conciseness of the 13 Articles of Faith - a boatload of doctrine is carefully jammed into so few words. When dissected, I think there is alot of merit to what we have coming (this Fall) and what is jammed into that one run-on sentence. First, we have to have something that brings the 10 Tribes back - and they are not on this planet (previous blog piece). The New Jerusalem has to be built in an area that will not have so much as a yellow dog left to wag its tail (see previous blog piece about Heber C Kimball prophecy and how the docking of a large planet in our northern regions will cause all waters to rush north. There is ALOT of water in the Gulf of Mexico.... I have tried to convince folks in the midwest region to head for higher ground (min 2500 feet) so that they don't become a statistic when this all goes down - but then, who will be counting when the body count goes that high? There aren't enough body bags to go around. They will stack the bodies (of beast and man) in huge piles and burn them in order to make the wasted areas habitable once again.

The last thing is that the earth will receive its paradisaical glory and we will cruise joyously through the millennium in balmy bliss (clothing not optional this time around in paradise). Now, that presents a problem. We will continue to have our current regimen of seasons every year, so long as this earth remains on its current axis tilt. No axis tilt, and the entire earth's surface becomes arable year round - enough to make grain futures drop precipitously. But then, there will be no speculative markets in the Millennium - that hellish practice will be taken to the curb. If it lines someone's pocket at the expense of another, then; bye-bye (can't wait!!). There will be no axis tilt until there is massive bad juju - picture drunken man reeling to and fro with massive accelerations and land mass movements. During the last Elenin-induced Japanese EQ, we saw a M9.0 energy release which caused the land mass to move 8 feet. The Chile 8.8 caused the axis to move by several inches - just fractions of a degree. Changing the tilt by 15 degrees will be off the charts.... I went thru a M7+ EQ here in Western Washington that caused our Puget Sound rift to widen by approx 3 inches. That much energy boggled my mind then. We are in for some amazing things shortly. If survived, people will have awesome stories to tell their kids and grandkids. Its all about the great story for me. What are you doing to prepare so you have a story of your own - other than, "the last thing I remember before the tunnel of light was this massive shaking that threw me out of bed - and then here I was with you, great Aunt Gertrude. By the way - you look great!"? And that is a viable option; we should all be ready to meet Great Aunt Gertrude - but the story is so lame..... Writer's block really stinks. Get inspiration for a cooler ending and then buckle up....

COHEN'S MISSED SIGN? - JUICING BETELGEUSE.....

I HAVE HAD THIS DAVID COHEN BETELGEUSE SUPERNOVA PIECE ON THE BLOG FOR THE LAST YEAR OR TWO THAT I, QUITE FRANKLY, HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ENDORSE COMPLETELY, EVEN THOUGH I THINK HIS INFORMATION IS FASCINATING. I THINK THAT GUY WAS SHOOTING FROM THE HIP ON ALOT OF WHAT HE SAID AND MY WIFE GOT A SICK FEELING WHEN READING HIS STUFF A WEEK OR TWO AGO. I POINTED HER TO MY COMMENT BELOW THE PIECE THAT I SIMPLY HAVE NOT HAD THE SPIRIT ENDORSE WHAT HE HAD TO SAY. I EVEN HAD SOME PEOPLE COMMENT THAT HE WAS EX-COMMIED FOR SOME NOT SO GOOD REASONS....IF THERE EVER WERE SOME.
HAVING SAID THAT, THE REASON I HAVE LEFT HIM UP IS THAT IT IS, BY FAR, THE GREATEST DRAW OF TRAFFIC TO THIS SITE - AND PEOPLE MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEE SOME OTHER STUFF THAT WOULD BE MORE CORRECT AND THEY COULD THEN GO FROM THERE. NOT THE GREATEST LOGIC, BUT I HAVE NOT WANTED TO GET RID OF IT, NONETHELESS. NOW, I BEGIN TO WONDER IF HE WASN'T ONTO SOMETHING ABOUT THE TIMING OF JUBILEES/HIGH HOLY DAYS, ETC AND THE APPEARANCE OF ELENIN INSTEAD OF HIS BETELGEUSE. IT IS KIND OF A STRETCH, BUT IT MAY HAVE SOME MERIT, I BELIEVE. AS FAR AS THE LORD DOING SOMETHING LIKE THE SIGN OF THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN ACCORDING TO HIS CALENDAR, I AM SURE. AS FAR AS IT BEING A SUPERNOVA (WHOSE LIGHT TAKES HUNDREDS OF YEARS TO REACH EARTH), I AM NOT SO SURE. AS FAR AS ELENIN PUTTING ON A LIGHT SHOW THAT WILL CAUSE PEOPLE TO GIVE PAUSE, PUT ON A MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE AND BRING ABOUT THE OPENING OF THE SEVENTH SEAL, I AM POSITIVE.

The Light From the Orion Super Nova


“One last thing about the Super Nova... It will rise in the sky at midnight on Sept 22, 2011. It will light up the Eastern sky as if it were dawn. And at dawn we are going to see 2 suns in the sky. Orion is only visible to the Northern Hemisphere and part of the Southern Hemisphere. The very bottom of the Southern Hemisphere can’t see Orion. What are they going to see? There will be multiple signs in the heavens. It just so happens if you live in the Antarctic, Argentina or South Africa you will see a double crescent moon caused by the Orion Super Nova. It would normally be a crescent moon at that time. What do you have to have on Rosh Hashana? A new moon, a double crescent moon! One by land, two by sea: One crescent, for the first coming; one crescent, for the second coming. On Sept 21st, astronomers have a great big telescope. On Sept. 21st, they are going to alert the whole world that Orion has gone Super Nova. They will see it exploding in their telescope. We cant see it with our naked eye until it climaxes.”

“In the original script the name of Orion means “As 7 Jubilees.” What happened at every Jubilee? A trumpet blew. What does John say is going to happen when the 7 seals are opened? 7 trumpets will blow. It’s right there in the Hebrew. What does Orion mean in Hebrew? “My light is Power!” There happens to be a star in Orion named, Betel Jeuce. In Hebrew it means Oliforium, Oliforium means, “My number one light.” Does anyone know anything about Betel Jeuce? It is a red super giant. It’s so big that astronomers can’t figure out exactly how far it is away from us ‘cause its pulsating. What happens to red super giants? The super nova!“


World is going to think that the ‘Light from the Red Super Nova’ which will light up the sky at midnight as if it were day time, will cause many throughout the world to believe that Jesus has returned and the Second Coming has happened. This is not the truth. This will be the ‘Opening of the 7th Seal’ and there will be a ‘Silence in the Heavens.’ Rev 9:15 An hour a day a month and a year? 42 Months? 5 Months? 2300 Days? for the space of one half hour. This half hour in heavenly time comes out to almost 22 years (there is the number 22 once again) before the actual Second Coming of Jesus Christ, July 1, 2033. It is very complicated according to the ancient calendars and all of the signs and clues throughout the scriptures and in the signs of heaven.

To conclude, I believe that there is a direct correlation between the dates of 9/11 with the Adversary’s inspired attack on the ‘Twin Towers’ and the ‘Opening of the 7th Seal’ yet to happen on, September 22/23, 2011. I propose that the Adversary inspired this happening as a counterfeit show of power to counter balance the events shortly to happen with the ‘Opening of the 7th Seal’. He is a copy-cat and a liar and his attempts are feeble and weak compared to the magnificent power of Heavenly Father’s omniscient power; which he is going to begin to reap upon the earth in just over nine mounths.


A Spiritual War That Started in the Heavens
During the Pre-Existence,
Still Rages on the Earth Today!


These Two events are the ‘Declarations of Battle’ prior to the ‘Last Great Battle that started in heaven during the pre-existence and has continued throughout the history of the world, between God’s elect children or Saints and Satan’s army of men influenced by his evil. There will be the fulfillment of the trumps being blown by the 7 Destroying Angels, that will usher in: natural disasters, disease and pestilence and world wars that will take place after the Opening of the 7th Seal on, September 22/23, 2011, before the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, just short of 22 years later, July 1, 2033.

To end, I would like to give Thanks unto my Heavenly Father for His diligent inspiration unto all of His servants throughout the ages. I can not begin to express my gratitude for that which He has done for me, by sending His only begotten and beloved Son, as a sacrifice for my sins. I could never hope to understand why He offers His Holy Son for me. He, being a God, would know that He Himself could fulfill this calling to satisfy the demands of justice for all of His other children, so that we may have a way to return unto Him through repentance. But no – that would be too easy for Him... So He ‘sacrificed’ His most sacred and Beloved, His Only Begotten and Beloved Son, Jesus. It had to be a perfect sacrifice, one that meant a lot unto Heavenly Father. I am so very thankful for all of the Prophets throughout the ages and now, I am also grateful for all of the faithful Saints throughout the ages, ‘Joan of Arc’, as well and our own ‘Pioneer Saints’. All Glory, I give unto my Heavenly Father for loving me so tenderly and for revealing many mysteries of the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’, unto His humble and ever so weak servants. I am so Thankful for all of the Love that has been showered upon me throughout my life... I boast not in myself, only that my Loving Father’s Holy Spirit is ever near me, inspiring me unto all truth and protecting me from all of the fiery darts of the evil one. My Heavenly Father is ever guiding my feeble footsteps upon this treacherous pathway, called this, ‘The Second Probation’, or mortality. In the last year we have had at least 2 Sundays (sacrament) dedicated to preparedness. Usually the fifth Sunday. These topics are also discussed from time to time in Sunday School and Priesthood. We have an active dry pack program as well as there are various groups of people in this area that bring in bulk amounts of every thing from lentils to coconut oil to Five gallon pails and lids, etc.. Generally speaking we are in the mind set to be prepared. There is even one Stake 2 hours north of us that has over 90% of active members with a 2 year supply. In our community we have an emergency plan as the community is about 85% LDS. Last month we had a dentist come in from the southern states to do a 2 day emergency dental course. My family owns their own #10 dry pack canning machine. The stake has members in every ward assigned to the communication team for emergencies who are ham operators. There are other things going on as well. In a nut shell this is a good area.

STL: I Live in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. Approx. 50 minutes north of the US border on Interstate 15. The population is about 3,500 of which 85% is LDS. There is one stake and 9 wards in the Town. We are located 30 minutes from the Cardston Temple and about 20 minutes from a city of 125,000. Another interesting fact is that Raymond is the birth place of Cleon Skousen. If you move now you will still be in the same country when the Lord comes as I don't think the borders will mean too much. To answer your question about military, one of my neighbors is a retired colonel from the Army. Good man. We share a common military alliance with the US. I believe that we are in a particularly good location being some what distanced from large cities, nuclear facilities, etc.. One of the benefits is that there is lots of space, natural resources, LDS communities. I would describe Alberta as Mountains on the west, plains on the east, Forests on the North 2 thirds. A strong conservative attitude with a vibrant economy and a solid work ethic. Kind of the Texas of the north, only more space. There have been many dreams and prophetic statements from local leaders over the years indicating that this area will be a place of refuge and that many will come from the north and the south for safety. When I get get a chance I will try to source some out for you.

OUR ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC UNIVERSE

I have always been a fan of Velikovsky - partly because I like a guy that can depart from the opinion of the rest of the herd, and partly because his science has proved to be nearly completely spot on.

When I first grasped the concept of electrons orbiting a nucleus, I thought "That sounds just like us here on our little planet orbiting our sun.....". My mind went small and it went large on the scale of things and how all of God's creations are immense and unbounded in nature. So, by observing what is around us in space (our solar system), we then have the key to visualizing/finding out what quarks and other nano-particles must be like. Scale up, scale down - very simple. It may not be quite that easy - but it sure is fun to think about. Much like the scanning electron microscope images of the miniscule parasitic flea with even smaller yet parasites residing on its back, ad infinitum.

So, here is a little more mind-bending stuff (CLICK LINK)that gives Velikovsky's work a nod and possibly opens our minds a little more to what we may see in our near future as we get a stray "electron" entering our realm in the form of Elenin. It may be an electrifying experience as one of the signs of the opening of the 7th seal is the preaching to the inhabitants of the earth through thunderings and through lightnings.

Any of the old timers here ever read the book called "WORLDS IN COLLISION by Immanuel Velikovsky?" It is truly fascinating and a book way ahead of it's time. Velikovsky does a controversial study which posits a cosmic history of planetary cataclysms. According to Velikovsky, these epic catastrophes geophysically altered earth, radically affecting even its magnetic polarity and solar orbit. The great MYTHOLOGIES of the world, in particular the story of the Hebrew EXODUS, are cited to substantiate the theory that Venus may have originally been a comet whose near-collision with earth was the Physical Agency (ascribed to God in The Torah/Old Testament)of the terrifying tribulation called THE TEN PALGUES:

The Russian-born scholar was a friend and colleague of Albert Einstein, a student of Freud's first pupil Wilhelm Stekel, and Israel's first practicing psychoanalyst. Some of his writings appeared in Freud's Imago. In 1930 he published the first paper to suggest that epileptics would be characterized by abnormal encephalograms. He was the founder and editor of the scholarly publication, Scripta Universitatis, the physics and mathematics section being prepared by Einstein.

It was while researching a book on Freud and his heroes that Velikovsky first wondered about the catastrophes said to have accompanied the Hebrew Exodus, when fire and hailstones rained upon Egypt, earthquakes decimated the nation, and a pillar of fire and smoke moved in the sky. Biblical and other traditional Hebrew sources speak so vividly that Velikovsky began to wonder if some extraordinary natural event might have played a part in the Exodus.

To explore this possibility, Velikovsky sought out a corresponding account in ancient Egyptian records, finding a remarkable parallel in a papyrus kept at the University of Leyden Museum, called the Papyrus Ipuwer. The document contains the lamentations of an Egyptian sage in response to a great catastrophe overwhelming Egypt, when the rivers ran red, fire blazed in the sky, and pestilence ravaged the land.

Velikovsky also encountered surprising parallels in Babylonian and Assyrian clay tablets, Vedic poems, Chinese epics, and North American Indian, Maya, Aztec, and Peruvian legends. From these remarkably similar accounts, he constructed a thesis of celestial catastrophe. He concluded that a very large body -- apparently a "comet" -- passed close enough to Earth to violently perturb its axis, as global earthquakes, wind and falling stone decimated early civilizations.

Before Velikovsky could complete his reconstruction, he had to resolve an enigma. He had found that in the accounts of far-flung cultures, the cometary agent of disaster was identified as a planet. And the closer he looked, the more clear it became to him that this planet was Venus: The converging ancient images include the Babylonian "torch-star" Venus and "bearded star" Venus, the Mexican "smoking star" Venus, the Peruvian "long-haired" star Venus, the Egyptian Great Star "scattering its flame in fire" and the widespread imagery of Venus as a flaming serpent or dragon in the sky. In each instance, the cometary language is undeniable, for these were the very symbols of "the comet" in the ancient languages.

By following the evidence, Velikovsky discovered that Venus holds a special place among the world's first astronomers. In both the Old World and the New, ancient stargazers regarded Venus with awe and terror, carefully observing its risings and settings, and claiming the planet to be the cause of world-ending catastrophe. These astronomical traditions, Velikovsky reasoned, must have had roots in a traumatic human experience, though modern science has always assumed that the planets evolved in quiet and undisturbed isolation over billions of years.

Based on extensive cross-cultural comparison, Velikovsky concluded that the planet Venus, prior to the dawn of recorded history, was ejected violently from the gas giant Jupiter, displaying a spectacular comet-like tail. Its later catastrophic approach to the Earth (around 1500 B.C.) provided the historical backdrop to the Hebrew Exodus, Velikovsky claimed.

In Worlds in Collision, Velikovsky argued that the terrifying "gods" of the ancient world were planets -- those inconspicuous specks of light we see moving with clock-like regularity, as if to deny their chaotic roles in the past. The book recounted two close encounters of the comet or protoplanet Venus with the Earth. Included in the same volume was a large section on the ancient war god, whom Velikovsky identified as the planet Mars. He claimed that centuries after the Venus catastrophes, Mars moved on an unstable orbit intersecting that of Earth, leading to a series of Earth-disturbing events in the eighth and seventh centuries B.C........

For many years after publication of Worlds in Collision, Velikovsky was persona non grata on college campuses. He was denied the opportunity to publish articles in scientific journals. When he attempted to respond to critical articles in such journals, they rejected these responses. The attitude of established science was typified by the reactions of astronomers. Michigan astronomer Dean McLaughlin exclaimed, "Lies -- yes lies." In response to a correspondent, astronomer Harold Urey, wrote: "My advice to you is to shut the book [Worlds in Collision] and never look at it again in your lifetime."

For Velikovsky, this was the beginning of a personal "dark age". But remarkably, his friendship with Albert Einstein was unaffected, and Einstein met with him often, maintaining an extended correspondence as well, encouraging Velikovksy to look past the misbehavior of the scientific elite. In discussion with Einstein, Velikovsky predicted that Jupiter would be found to emit radio noises, and he urged Einstein to use his influence to have Jupiter surveyed for radio emission, though Einstein himself disputed Velikovsky's reasoning. But in April 1955 radio noises were discovered from Jupiter, much to the surprise of scientists who had thought Jupiter was too cold and inactive to emit radio waves. That discovery led Einstein to agree to assist in developing other tests of Velikovsky's thesis. But the world's most prominent scientist died only a few weeks later.

Velikovsky expected other discoveries through space exploration. He claimed that the planet Venus would be found to be extremely hot, since in his reconstruction, the planet was "candescent" in historical times. His thesis also implied the likelihood of a massive Venusian atmosphere, residue of its former "cometary" tail. And he claimed that the Earth would be found to have a magnetosphere reaching at least to the moon, because he was convinced that in historical times the Earth exchanged electrical charge with other planetary bodies.

Arrival of the space age was a critical juncture for Velikovsky, as data returned from the Moon, from Mars, and from Venus begin to recast our views of these celestial bodies. In 1959, Dr. Van Allen discovered that the Earth has a magnetosphere. In the early sixties, scientists realized, much to their surprise, that the planet Venus has a surface temperature as high as 900 degrees Fahrenheit, hot enough to melt lead. "The temperature is much higher than anyone would have predicted," wrote Cornell Mayer.

Things grew more promising for Velikovsky. In 1962, two scientists, Valentin Bargmann, professor of physics at Princeton, and Lloyd Motz, professor of astronomy at Columbia, urged that Velikovsky's conclusions "be objectively re-examined." In support of this reconsideration, they cited his prior predictions about radio noises from Jupiter, the terrestrial magnetosphere, and an unexpectedly high temperature of Venus......

Here, on the other hand, is the opinion of the two authors of Thunderbolts of the Gods, each having investigated the thesis of Worlds in Collision for more than three decades. David Talbott and Wallace Thornhill write: "The authors of this book believe that Velikovsky was incorrect on many particulars, some of them crucial to a proper understanding of ancient events. But his place among the great pioneers of science will be secure if he was correct on the underlying tenets"

Talbott and Thornhill do not accept Velikovsky's specific chronology of events, and they place the age of planetary upheaval just prior to the flowering of monumental civilization, which they see as a creative act of human REMEMBERING. Rather than declare Velikovsky to be categorically "right" or "wrong", they cite these claims as crucial to any assessment of Velikovsky's contribution to science -

1. The present order of the planets is new. In geologically recent times the planetary system was unstable, and at least some planets moved on much different courses than they do today.

2. Erratic movements of the planets led to global catastrophe on Earth.

3. Through rigorous cross-cultural comparison of the ancient traditions, an investigator can reconstruct the celestial dramas.

One more principle must also be included, according to the authors. Velikovsky said that the key to reconciling his claims with scientific theory would be ELECTROMAGNETISM, a force in which astronomers and cosmologists had no interest in 1950. He stated that if the Sun and the planets are not the "electrically neutral" bodies astronomers assume, then even "the law of gravitation must come into question."

In the years since Velikovsky wrote these words, a new perspective has emerged from space age discovery. A universe teeming with charged particles-the "Electric Universe" of Wallace Thornhill and others -- is redefining everything we see in space. But you would not know this by listening to David Morrison, whose words still echo the electrically inactive, purely gravitational 1950's vision of the heavens.

The electrical theorists say that the picture of the universe has changed, and all of the theoretical sciences will give way to a revolution in human understanding. The authors of Thunderbolts of the Gods summarize the new view in these words:

"From the smallest particle to the largest galactic formation, a web of electrical circuitry connects and unifies all of nature, organizing galaxies, energizing stars, giving birth to planets and, on our own world, controlling weather and animating biological organisms. There are no isolated islands in an 'electric universe.'"

The confidence of the electrical theorists comes from the testability of the hypothesis. Its every component leads to implications and predictions that can be either confirmed or falsified through direct investigation. A comparison of this approach to that taken by David Morrison may be instructive, so let's go back to the "beginning," cosmically speaking:

Modern Signs

Joseph Smith's most profound and enlightening sermon on the signs of the last days, given on the temple grounds at Nauvoo in April, 1843, demonstrates his views of the origin and nature of those signs, as well as our ability to recognize them for what they are.

"There will be wars and rumors of wars, signs in the heavens above and on the earth beneath, the sun turned into darkness and the moon to blood, earthquakes in divers places, the seas heaving beyond their bounds; … " (History of the Church, 5:337.)

Of particular interest is his addition of a truly remarkable sign to the customary list — one to which Latter-day Saints should give special heed. "… then will appear one grand sign of the coming of the Son of Man in heaven." (Ibid.) This is clearly a reiteration of the Savior’s statement in Matthew 24 wherein he said, "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven …."

Until this last dispensation of the gospel, no other prophet or passage of scripture had added the superlative "grand sign." Typically, all the signs are given equal weight or value; none is designated as special or more notable. Indeed, the only other mention is found in modern revelation wherein a slightly altered version of the term is used. Speaking of the last days, the Lord declared to Joseph in December 1842, "And immediately there shall appear a great sign in heaven, and all people shall see it together." (Doctrine & Covenants 88:93.)

Indeed, Joseph may have intended that this sermon, given a mere four months after the revelation recorded in Doctrine & Covenants, reaffirm and amplify on that revelation since Section 88 is remarkable for its catalog of latter-day signs.

On that occasion, Joseph continued his sermon by explaining what that marvelous sign might be. "What will the world do? They will say it is a planet, a comet, &c. But the Son of Man will come as the sign of the coming of the Son of Man, which will be as the light of the morning cometh out of the east. (Ibid.)

It is a stunning statement, when carefully considered. The greatest or grandest of signs will be a comet or planet. Assumably, this comet or planet will be doing something well out of the ordinary to attract special attention.

Note that the Prophet is not saying the world’s assessment is incorrect, as some have supposed. Rather, he is merely noting that the worldly or scientific terminology for this eye-catching sign would be "a planet, a comet, &c."

In light of what modern science has discovered in recent years about rogue comets and asteroids, this observation by Joseph Smith is striking. Mention of this great or grand sign is unique to this dispensation and is therefore worthy of special attention by Mormons — especially in light of what occurred in the heavens a decade ago.

I also gave some instructions in the mysteries of the kingdom of God; such as the history of the planets, Abraham’s writings upon the planetary systems, etc. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 118.)

“For all old things shall pass away, and all things shall become new, even the heaven and the earth, and all the fullness thereof, both men and beasts, the fowls of the air, and the fishes of the sea.” (D&C 29:23, 24.)

Also, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1.)

The lyrics of a hymn written by Eliza R. Snow. The hymn appears as no. 322 of the 1905 hymn book, 5th verse.

"And when the Lord saw fit to hide The ten lost tribes away, Thou, earth, was severed to provide The orb on which they stay."

early patriarch, Homer M. Brown, was asked about the Eliza R. Snow hymn. His answer includes a second-hand account that claims that the Prophet Joseph Smith supported the star theory. The direct quote below was taken from Robert W. Smith, The Last Days, Salt Lake City, Utah: Pyramid Press, 1947, p. 215.

"Brother Brown, will you give us some light and explanation of the 5th verse on page 386 of the Hymn book which formed another planet (sic), according to 'the Hymn of Eliza R. Snow.

"Yes, sir, I think I can answer your question. Sister Eliza R. Snow, in visiting my grandparents (Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Brown), was asked by my grandmother: 'Eliza where did you get your ideas about the Ten Lost Tribes being taken away as you explain in your wonderful hymn?

"She answered as follows: 'why, my husband (The Prophet Joseph Smith) told me about it.'

"Have you any other information that your grandfather ever gave you, as contained in any conversation with the Prophet Joseph Smith?

"I have! One evening in Nauvoo, just after dark, somebody rapped at the door vigorously. Grandfather said he was reading the Doctrine and Covenants. He rose hurriedly and answered the summons at the door, where he met the Prophet Joseph Smith.

"He said, 'Brother Brown, can you keep me over night, the mobs are after me?' Grandfather answered, 'Yes. Sir. It will not be the first time, come in.'

"'Al1 right,' the Prophet said, shutting the door quickly. He came in and sat down. Grandmother said: 'Brother Joseph, have you had your supper?'

"'No he answered, 'I have not.' So she prepared him a meal, and he ate it.

Afterward they were in conversation relative to the principles of the Gospel. During the conversation the ten lost tribes were mentioned. Grandfather said, 'Joseph, where are the ten tribes?' He said, "Come to the door and I will show you, come on Sister Brown, I want you both to see.'

"It being a starlight night the Prophet said: "Brother Brown, you show me the Polar Star?'" 'Yes sir,' he said, pointing to the North Star. 'There it is.' 'Yes, I know' said the Prophet, 'but which one? There are a lot of stars there.'

"Grandfather said: 'Can you see the points of the Dipper?' The Prophet answered, 'Yes,' 'Well," he said, "trace the pointers, pointing up to the largest star. That is the North Star.'

"The Prophet answered: 'You are correct. Now,' he said, pointing toward the star, 'do you discern a little twinkler to the right and below the Polar star, which we would judge to be about the distance of 20' from here?'

"Grandfather answered, 'Yes, sir.'

"The Prophet said: 'Sister Brown, do you see that star also?'

"Her answer was, 'Yes, sir.'

"'Very well then,' he said, 'Let's go in.' After re-entering the house the Prophet said: 'Brother Brown, I noticed when I came in that you were reading the Doctrine and Covenants. Will you kindly get it?'

"He did so. The Prophet turned to Section 133 and read, commencing at the 26th verse and through the 34th verse. He said, after reading the 31st verse, 'Now let me ask you what would cause the Everlasting Hills to tremble with more violence than the coming together of two planets. And the place whereon they reside will return to this earth. Now,' he said, 'Scientists will tell you that it is not scientific: that two planets corning together would be disastrous to both; but, when two planets or other objects are traveling in the same direction and one of them with a little greater velocity than the other, it would not be disastrous, because the one traveling faster would overtake the other. Now, that would cause the mountains of ice to melt quicker than the heat caused by the friction of the two planets coming together?' And then he asked the question. 'Did you ever see a meteor falling that was not red hot? So that would cause the mountains of ice to melt.'

"'And relative to the Great Highway ,which should be cast up when the planet returns to its place in the great Northern Waters, it will form a highway and waters will recede and roll back.' He continued, 'Now as to their coming back from the Northern Waters; they will return from the north because their planet will return to the place from whence it was taken.'

"Relative to the waters rolling back to the north. If you take a vessel of water and swing it rapidly around your head you won’t spill any, but if you stop the motion gradually, it will begin to pour out. Now,' he said, 'Brother Brown, at the present time this earth is rotating very rapidly. When this planet returns it will make the earth that much heavier, and it will then revolve slower, and that will account for the waters receding from the earth for a great while, but it has now turned and is proceeding rapidly eastward.'"

A MIGHTY REPULSION BY A SICKENED WORLD

Previously, I did a post that really captured my imagination (CLICK HERE): Nature spontaneously singing praises to our Creator, the One Eternal God. All things bear witness of Him - and there is a level of tolerance that a perfect God has always borne for those who refuse to acknowledge him - because we all have our moments. I understand that because I am a father to children I love very much.

When all things (of a lesser order) bear witness to Him, and His crowning creation, Man, refuses to obey and bend his stubborn will to Father's - and that period of tolerance and long suffering is past, the hammer falls. When nature can, for the most part, seem to figure it all out where pairs naturally mate according to a self-correcting course where off-spring are not killed due to a matter of inconvenience, then why should we get a free pass. This earth (a living, breathing construct of our Father in Heaven), will seek to rid itself of something as backward and wrong as we have become - much like we would seek to rid ourselves of an invasion of ticks and fleas that could harm us.

We will soon see the very manifestation of that ridding of the infestation that we have collectively become. God help us all.
