THE ORIGINS OF HEBREW

No surprise that it came from where Abraham came from (and close to where Noah's ark came to rest).  Abraham was just a few generations from Noah.  Hebrew (according to Joseph Smith), is just a hop, skip and a jump from the original Adamic language that Noah and his son Shem would have spoken.

Hebrew came from the Akkadian language.
Akkadian was spoken in Akkad which was just north of Sumer. Both places constituted greater “Mesopotamia” — the land between two rivers — the Tigris and Euphrates. 
Akkadian is a Semitic language, I believe (as is Hebrew, obviously). But Sumerian is not a Semitic language. It’s an entirely different language family. 
Akkadians and Akkad were eventually assimilated into Sumer. I imagine it much like the Scottish/English relationship.
Abraham was from Ur, which was is Sumer, but he was of Hebrew stock.

The letter from Brigham Young was interesting.  I picture us getting into the courts again over our positions on marriage and the nature of man and woman (no trannies in the temples...).

Likely, there was duality in that statement.  It may well have been fulfilled with the first traipsing thru the court system prior to 1890 and the Savior visited the remnants at Walker Lake.

This kind of stuff just boils my blood.  It HAS to stop.  The end has to be in sight somewhere down the road....  I thought her and bummer and soros would be gone - but, like a recurring nightmare, it just goes ON and ON and ON......  Bleche!!

On a related note, I was in Cardston trying out the latest chic restaurant, La Pita on Saturday with my wife and I ran into a gal I admire and respect greatly.  There were a bunch of people who tried to shut down the Church's purchase of land in Cardston for purposes that the Lord has in mind.  She gave me more details.  I am SICK and TIRED of people who oppose the work of the Lord.

I asked for names - because, in my opinion, it is time for the fur to fly.  Some folks need a special prayer.  I instructed her on how to go about it.  I have a funny feeling that the Lord is more than willing to clear the table of the trash.  Oddly, I have begun to believe that He needs earthly emissaries to effect those requests (just as with Prophets of old who exercised their Priesthood power).

No one has the gonads to do it any more; just simply take on evil face to face like Trump is doing.  People are too tied to their things, their careers, their reputations, standing the community, world etc.  Thus the reason the lever never gets pulled.

I have it on good authority, that the fur is just about to fly when it comes to our PSRs pulling the lever.  It will be a wild ride - and there will be deaths involved on both sides of the line in the sand.  So be it.  How long will we halt between two opinions - or take the luke warm stand??  Sometimes, you just have to get red hot and throw a few tables over, and whip a few money-changers into submission; like a BOSS!  You know, throw off the comfortable and encircling chains of your slavehood and raise a little hell for the children of hell to realize they cannot push you around forever.

MORE ON THE RAMPS OF THE ALTAR

Note that they chose to use no cut stones, as proscribed in Exodus and used clay-fired bricks for the structure, filled with round river rock and capped with clay tiles.  Nothing cut with metal tools - so as to not "pollute" it.  We were having a family discussion about this last night and I came to the conclusion (right or wrong), that God did not want anything graven by man's hand on that sacred spot.  Likely, it is symbolic of Mt. Moriah (a natural spot), where the earth was not disturbed from it's natural state.  This likely was at or near the same place where Jesus was crucified.  Holy ground.

Also, on the 2 to 3 ratio (width to length), many modern LDS temples are built on this principle such as the Seattle/Tokyo, the Manti/Logan and I believe the SLC temple.  I am purely guessing here, but my 2/3 ratio lights up in my calibrated eyeballs when I look at the Oquirrh Mtn Temple and Preston, England edifice.  Same basic shape as Solomon's Temple.

The real deals of the Hopewell days have this ratio - as pointed out by Brother Mayes who kind of got the whole Hopewell thing going.   Apparently, they found the temple at Zarahemla (directly west of the Nauvoo Temple - just as Joseph pointed out) and Ron Mayes says that it has that ratio of 2 to 3.

Really great stuff, when you think about it.

RAMPS ON ALTARS AND DISCOVERING YOUR NAKEDNESS - A CLUE TO THE LANDS OF THE NEPHITES

Now that I have your attention....

I was teaching a lesson the 10 commandments today and I listened to the last few verses of Exodus 20:

24 ¶ An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25  And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

I remembered something I had heard a long time ago by a professor of archealogy.  He could tell the differene between a  Caananite altar and an Israelitish altar and it was this.  The altars of the heathen employed stone steps to get to the top of the platform.  Because of verse 26, the Israelitish altars used ramps.  This kept the Priests from having to raise their legs a foot at a time to ascend - and they could move up the incline smoothly and not open the slit on their robes and allow others to see their nakedness (private parts).

Folks that say that the Hopewells are not the Nephites seem to miss the fact that, not only did they have their temples built from uncut stone, but the approaches to the platforms were ramps and not stairwells.

Folks, it is all there.....  This knowledge along with the two to three ratio indicts anyone who inspects the ramps of the mesoamericans and then contrasts that with the building practices of the Hopewells (Nephites).
