THE COMMEMORATION OF PASSOVER
On this historic year as we have enjoyed the plagues of grasshoppers, rivers turning red and now an overflowing scourge (that is only just a taste and not the real deal....), we get to celebrate in like manner, the original Passover Feast.
This is from an earlier post a week or two ago, but it now holds much more meaning:
My wife says she discovered this last fall and we discussed it. Truly it is related to the Destroying Angel passing over with tones of Passover in ancient Egypt:
Isaiah 26:
20 ¶ Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Folks, if you want an authentic Passover experience, one of my favorite people, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, is putting on a live-stream of the event on Wednesday. Combined with a world-wide fast a few days later on Friday, this will be an epic week.

Start preparing now for this special event. Some stuff may be a little hard to find in the stores right now, but you can use just about anything including flour tortillas, etc. Here is a sample of what my oldest daughter put together about 12 years ago when we did this for fun:
When we prepared the sacrament in our home Sunday before last, we used large chunks of bread and grape juice, similar to what I observed my Jewish rabbi friend do in 2012 back in Everett at the Shabbat meal he invited me to. I also read both accounts in D&C 20 and Moroni 7, so we knelt around the board as I held the chalice of "wine" and blessed it.
Folks, this time rocks! Make it fun and interesting for your kids and family. They will NEVER forget it. I have told my kids to take notes and their grand kids will ask them about the time they went through.
In about a year, I expect we will be threading the needle for realz. This is just a dress rehearsal.
Enjoy it, before the curtain falls.

SILENCE IN THE HEAVENS FOR HALF AN HOUR - AND A PLUM CRAZY STORY
Well, here I go again to a place where I feel very comfortable; the end of the limb....
I have only broken two bones in life in a single event; when I was at the end of a limb. I was around 11 years old and I was out in the plum thicket looking for my favorite treat. The mother of all Santa Rosa plums - the big one. I had climbed a tree to the very reaches and one was on the end of a branch at the very top of the tree where the sun could ripen it perfectly. It was the size of an average apricot.... And I wanted it. My sister was encouraging me to go for it, and I soon found myself on the end of a small branch that would not support my weight. I learned how cruel gravity can be; and I never got my prize....
My radius and ulna were badly munched, but not compound fractured.
So, I feel just fine once again to be at the end of a limb and going for the prize. Every time I have gone there, it has always been a fail in one way or another, but the hope of a prize drives me forward.... I may get the event right (in hindsight) or the timing, but rarely if ever, the two at the same time unless the Spirit has ratified the utterance. Honing the gift is next to impossible and requires dogged determination. That is one thing I am good at in my imperfect and iterative walk.....
So, my wife, who is a great critical thinker (some people might call her a nag for always bringing up the holes in my thinking, but I quite enjoy her wise and usually gentle perspective), asked me yesterday what exactly constitutes a "silence in the heavens" when it comes to the half hour of silence. Clearly, we have had Prophets speaking to us during this time - so what has constituted the silence, if my bookend Hosannah Shout theory is correct?
This is what I have come to:
The silence has been in regards to our Lord's coming. The mouths of the anointed have mostly been shut in this regard during the last twenty years. I can only think of one or two talks on the subject. No one wildly announcing the coming of the Bridegroom. There were two very cryptic talks given only in code about Aunt Ruth and chickens. The key to getting it, was likely the molting chickens part. That half hour of silence was not about a bunch of Saints running around in a panic, but more geared towards the final harvest before the sermons are preached in the heavens and under the earth as we have begun to experience (in Utah and Idaho and Yellowstone as of late....).
During this last Conference, the tap was wide open on the subject. In fact, this is all that I seemed to hear about.
I have been near the point of apostasy (back-biting the Bretheren) over not enough being said on the subject. Now, it is a full-on stream of the stuff - and much to my Millennialistic liking..... :)
All of the FB discussion boards are lit up and I have enough doom pron to satisfy both funny bones.... Seriously - I am as happy as a pig in poop!
We still have a long way to go. I do not think that Christ comes with fire and glory (world wide event) until at least 2033. That is a long way off. But we have several key events between now and then such as AoA (possibly), SLC advent, Mount of Olives saving move and the NJ.
Once the NJ is built up, then we are ready for the physics-defying move and the fire to cleanse the rest of the wicked and naysayers from the face of the earth. Between now and then, we have some serious juju to get through.
There will be much opposition - possibly even having to dodge a few .303 rounds from those who still refuse to bend the knee and repent. It will be interesting as we let God fight our battles. Boring, it will not be.

THE CLOSING OF THE HALF HOUR OF SILENCE? ANOTHER WORLDWIDE HOSANNAH SHOUT
Folks, did you just hear what I heard??
President Nelson asked that we all show up with a white handkerchief for the Hosannah Shout that will be part of the Sunday Conference Session.
I cannot help but remember the Hosannah Shout that was part of the Palmyra Temple dedication.

If I remember, the specific wording is "about" a half hour of silence. 1000 years/48 = 20.8 years.
20 years is close enough for me. Especially with the loss of the trumpet, the calling home of the missionaries and so much more. Folks, this is all just freeeeeeking awesome stuff!

If so, and if the 7 years tribulation began in September 2016 like I suspect, last month-- the month of the earthquake and damage-- is almost exactly halfway through it. If the project ends in 3.5 years, that *could* coincide with the end of the tribulations.

I think of my Cardston friend who railed against him. It will be an uncomfortable meeting:

ELENYI - WHERE MY FEET MAY FAIL
So, I was sitting at my work desk today and I thought my table was moving at about 1Hz. I looked around at the pictures on the wall and a cordless phone standing on it's end on my desk and at the monitors and could not find any hint of movement. But I was sure I was feeling about 10-15 pulses. I was wondering if I had vertigo or some other physical event.
I asked my wife if she felt it. Nope.
We mentioned it to the kids and sure enough, they felt it. We were all pretty excited since this was the first family quake in Canada....
My doctor friend texted and said she felt it in Salmon, ID. It was over 6.0 and north of Boise.
The distance from Cardston is substantial. Many people reported feeling it all over the Inland NW.
Folks, that was amazing that this could produce that kind of energy for such a small quake.
When the big one hits, we will all be floored. All of the faults will let loose simultaneously when the keyway lets go.
