MORE ON TEMPLE SYMBOLOGY - THE UPSIDE DOWN STAR

My wife saw the symbols in the Kirtland and Nauvoo temples and asked if they were not occultic and evil.  I think a few anti-mormons had some literature at just about every turn in our visits to the pageants in Cumorah and Nauvoo.

This video puts the allegations in perspective.  And man, do I ever get sick of fighting the anti's and others who refuse to just see things as they are (simply inspired of God, and no other).  I am glad that those who were designing the new Nauvoo Temple did not attempt to re-write history due to some idiot who took a symbol of purity and hijack it, just like those from the three dollar bill club, hijacked the covenant symbol of the rainbow.  I can only be patient with so much and then I have the base desire to check the dust levels on the footwear.....

THE SHAMIR AND THE CUTTING OF A GEMSTONE (URIM AND THUMMIM?)

Someone asked about how one receives their personal urim and thummim as described in Revelations.  According to those that I know have one, its location is shown to the recipient by an angel, and more specifically, their guardian angel.  They are then to go find it, similar to the process used by Joseph to find the plates on Cumorah (shown in vision where it is, you go find the object, then you are given instruction by a messenger in how to use it/care for it).

In re-reading the wiki article on shamir, I found this reference to a guardian angel to be interesting:

The shamir worm was also used by King Solomon to engrave gemstones. Apparently he also used the blood of the shamir worm to make carved jewels with a mystical seal or design. A MODERN JUBILEE CYCLE - AN INTERESTING POINT OF VIEW

I just got a comment in on the Star of Melchizedek (previous piece), which I do NOT agree with unless some meaty quotes by the Brethren can be shown.  Too much to the contrary to dismiss the article that was written, including the research about the early references and artwork pointing out the connection.  Like I always say, the proof is in the pudding.....  Produce some relevant quotes and I will consider something to the contrary.

I do have an open mind.  I read most things that seem to have merit and then usually hold judgment for years or decades.  If it is important for me to know, the Lord usually comes through for me with continuing revelation or info by the end of a fortnight - and thus my standard response to someone asking me for direction, of; "Give me a couple of weeks and I will get back with you on that".  Other times, it can be years for information to fall into place.  It is on the Lord's timeline, so I do not worry about it.

While I do not agree with the 49 year cycle (I am sticking with Rabbi Ben Samuel and his 50 year cycle based on 1217, 1517, 1917, 1967, and finally 2017), I do like to look at patterns which may point to things.  God uses cycles (lunar, festival dates) to do His works on.

DISCOVERY OF SECOND TEMPLE ERA MIKVEH - WITHOUT HUMAN HANDS

It was for this reason that the first temple baptismal font (for the dead) in this dispensation was special in that it flowed from a spring in the Nauvoo Temple.  I am not sure if the water from the Sea of Brass was taken from pipes pressurized by higher elevation springs, or not.  This I do know, God required that the stone cut for the first temple be cut without human hands.  Here is a previous article on the topic:

The Israel Minister of Housing and Construction Uri Ariel on Friday expressed his wish to see the construction of a “Third Temple” in place of the Al-Aqsa Mosque that is currently occupying the temple mount. Uri Ariel said “The first Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE, the second Temple in 70 CE, and ever since the Jewish People have been mourning its loss.”

THE EIGHT-POINTED STAR AS THE STAR OF MELCHIZEDEK

Melchizedek is Shem (son of Noah) and he is also the prototype of the Savior.  See Hebrews Ch 7 (click link for more info)  - and check out the JST on that.  It is a little clunky and confusing if you rely only on the KJV.

Just had a friend from Cardston send a link to this article - as well as many confirming comments on the previous article on the Indianapolis Temple.  It nails down the connection in our temples (including Indianapolis) to that of Melchizedek.  The lady who asked a GA (Seventy, I think) who said it was just a nice decoration in the Indianapolis Temple terrestrial endowment room, was simply wrong on the matter.

Me-thinks someone was trying to reinforce the idea of higher nature of what goes on in that room......
