I finally saw that the leadership from my generation is saying that we need to get back to engineering judgment and individualistic thinking, so we do not become paralyzed because we cannot arrive at a group consensus on a difficult engineering problem. Go figure - we coming full circle; back to normal and right thinking after the "Millennial Experiment".
I remember growing up in the 1980's and it was all about group think (you either wear the latest fashions and act a certain way - or you were NOT cool). It has only gotten worse - branding is everything. Marketers know this.
Think about schools in general... since preschool students are put into groups... desks are in groupings, group projects... this is not an accident.
