DAMASCUS HAS FALLEN? PROPHECY ON THE CUSP OF BECOMING FULFILLED

 Damascus is an interesting place.  Jesus was there.  Apparently, it has been under seige and attack but it has been continuously inhabited and has not suffered the fate of so many cities around it, such as Jerusalem with not so much as one stone standing upon another stone (the temple) or so many others where you find the foundations buried under 4 feet of debris, soil etc.  And the big one, all of the inhabitants being carried off into slavery - or outright slaughtered (thus, the miracle that it has been continuously inhabited for so long).  In contrast, how many times has Jerusalem been utterly flattened with either the Assyrians, Babylonians or Romans or who knows who else carrying them off to be slaves and dispersed throughout the known world at the time?

So, Assad is out - apparently fled his palace a few days ago.  Damascus has still not become a ruinous heap - so what will happen?  Will Russia attempt (with the current distraction in Ukraine) to take it back and place their puppet back in power?  If so, will that surge to take it back flatten it finally?  So far as I know, other than an Israeli attack on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, it is still a city intact.

What can we expect to happen when Damascus is destroyed?

It will become a heap of ruins, utterly destroyed. Few, if any, buildings will be left standing. The once great city will be devoid of human life and will become home to all manner of wildlife in the absence of humans.

17 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Lord of hosts.

After this toppling and sacking of Damascus, Ephraim (the USA - and likely the UK, (Scotland/Ireland/England)) or all of Ephraim will lose her fortress.  In other words, the blessing of Ephraim where the "archers have grieved sorely" will finally be able to hit their mark and hit us like they could not do in WWII or any other conflict, as we were too far away to effect an attack on our own soil.  But this attack becomes reality.  I am not sure what happens, but when the Bear Lays the Paw on the Lion, this signals an emboldening of Russia on the world stage and she makes her move to be the top dog (what is China - the dragon - doing during this time??).

I guess time will tell.  Russia's only port outside of the Black Sea and their Arctic port, is located in Syria.  The US has Hawaii, Japan, Phillipines, Diego Garcia, Guam and so many others that she can use to refuel and re-supply to project power.  These are critical lifelines in global dominance.  Russia just needs to make sure that she can get her ships through the Dardanelles, into the Mediterranean and possibly out to the Atlantic to go to Venezuela or Cuba, etc. With the demonstrated reliability of her ships (they are always escorted with a tug), they need ports strategically situated in case there is a breakdown.  It is embarrassing/humiliating/demoralizing to have to limp into a NATO port and have to beg for moorage/fuel/etc.

So, the question remains as to why Syria would become so important to Russia that someone fights her for it and levels the city.  Ruinous heap applies more to what they did to Aleppo in the past decade.

I will be watching with GREAT interest what happens over the next few years in that area - for what happens there is key to the timeline of what happens here.
