I believe the hardest thing to endure as a parent is to watch children develop their own ideas that sometimes can be so far afield (at least from commonly-accepted reason). But, if we are to be as God is one day, then we must accept the spirit and principle of Agency and not only encourage, but accept the ability to make mistakes and recover from them on their own terms and in their own way at the time they decide.
However, I would never discount the power of prayer in calling on Father to help shape their lives as efficiently as is possible, so as to not waste what precious time of mortal probation still remains.
