This boy prodigy has more wisdom than most adults at any level.
Me? Personally? I think Stephen Hawkings was a real dunce. Someone who is truly brilliant will not shut off half of their reality in order to dismiss them in their favorite sin or act of rebellion:

As I pointed out to someone long ago, you can be a total success in the things of the world, but if you fail at things spiritual, you have become a total failure. No one can just shut off more than half of who they are and expect to attain any measure of peace in life. We are not mortal beings having occasional spiritual experiences. We are spiritual beings, having a full-immersion mortal experience. Cutting off the spiritual side of life, is like excising the heart or amigdala from the body and expecting a normal outcome. It is illogical to any rational mind - and will cause mental in-fighting of a catastrophic nature; likely outcome, mental stresses beyond the ability to bear.
That was the gist of President Nelson's talk at GC. Many of his friends are likely brilliant and amazing people - but if they neglect the most important things of life, they will likely be enjoying a shack instead of the mansion they would likely qualify for. What a waste.
And yes, I have heard the statement before by several people; do my temple work after I am gone. President Nelson lovingly and firmly knocked that false notion down.
Enjoy the vid!
Hawking follows the old stodgy, traditional atheist beliefs because it is popular among his peers. These people are more interested in the acclaim and popularity of the world.
ReplyDeleteHis life has been pathetic, not because of anything to do with his health condition but everything to do with how he dealt with his family and his pandering to be popular as stated.
I believe if we just look for truth in science, or anywhere we can find it, the faster we can advance. The more we predicate our research on false theories for popularity we will be stymied.
