THE TWO PROPHETS - AND THREE AND A HALF YEARS

A comment/question on a previous blog piece.  I love sincere, thoughtful questions:

I notice you have the two prophets being killed this fall. The scriptures say before this happens, they hold off the armies for 3 1/2 years...so do you believe they have already been there, holding off the destruction for 3 years? Seems like the 200, 000, 000 army that is supposed to be amassed for the big battle haven't quite assembled yet, although things do seem to be lining up with people getting into position.

This was a legitimate question – and I have asked it MANY times myself.  I will say this.  There are perceptions of how it is supposed to be – and there is the reality of how it happens when it comes to the prophetic word.  For example, the Lord said that the gospel would go to every nation, kindred, tongue and people.  And then the end comes.  Many people say there is no way the end is near because of places like China or even Israel that have not gotten it wholesale (just in bits and pieces).  Heck – even Russia has barely been given a chance, and the place is crawling with the House of Israel.  With that statement about it going to every nation, kindred tongue and people, we would get the warm fuzzy of seeing two Elders or Sisters calling on every door of every hamlet and village across an entire nation.  Not sure if that is the picture the Lord had in mind.  It might be ideal – but never close to reality.

My picture of the two Prophets has always been:  two guys in beards, maybe with a staff sitting in a cool cave while 200,0000,000 soldiers are sitting with all their equipment within miles of them – and not able to pass to get on to their goal of Jerusalem.  Each time they attempt, fire is called down from heaven and the column of soldiers is stopped in their tracks.  Finally, they get a bee in their bonnet and over-run the two guys and take them out.  Then wipe out a bunch of Jerusalem and then start a monster party – then destruction with fire coming from the hand of God.

Probably about 90% of the above scenario is probably LDS culture mingled with some scriptural backing and a good imagination.  I actually like that Jewish boy’s take  on the scenario.  Lots of fighting among the people off site for a period of time – then an event which gets everyone on the same page (a nuke fired at Israel that they retaliate for?? or the knocking down of the Dome of the Rock) and the whole mess (probably UN-backed) heads for Jerusalem to kick some butt and avenge the wrong.

As far as the Prophets go, there were two LDS general authorities quietly called to oversee the area just over three years ago.  High Priests.  No staff – no beards.  No cave.  No direct conflict with a massive army – but no one has really molested Israel in those 3.5 years since the A/C ascended TM and caused the sacrifice to cease.  Things are brewing – all nations (whose armies and reserves may well number in the 200,000,000 range) are assembled just to the north of Israel.  According to Natan, it takes just a matter of weeks before they all move south and do a number on the IDF and move into Jerusalem.  You have to remember, Syria is not days or weeks away – it is hours north.  Most of those troops as far away as Ankara could be moved into position in a few short days.  We are not talking about a 3 to 6 month set-up like they were dealing with in Desert Storm.   It would be quick.  It may be that the whole ISIS thing is a smoke screen in order to have the amassing there and ready to take the real prize of Jerusalem.  Then you just create a crisis (which CNN will pump throughout the world) and be there to “solve” the problem.  How convenient.  Just as there is a major drill right before every major false flag in the USA (crisis actors and equipment already in place and ready to go for the event without drawing undue attention), they already have their stuff in place for a bait and switch rapid attack that the IDF will not be able to anticipate nor man up for.  It is actually quite a good tactic – on par with the Trojan Horse ruse.  All they need is a crisis that Joe Public will buy into to shout at the tv screen “Death to Israel” – and you have set the noose.  Actually, I could not plan it better myself for a nearly bloodless takeover of Israel.  This IS satan’s prize.  he has been trying to wipe God’s chosen people off the map for millennia.  Now they are all gathered in one place and it will be a turkey shoot.  hitler himself could not be more pleased about a set up like that.

Like with all arrogant people who cannot see beyond the end of their own nose, they will also miss the fact that they are all also corralled and in a perfect place for God to wipe the armies of the earth out in one fell swoop.  Those that have lived by the sword – shall die by the sword.  And the millennium can then get off to an otherwise less rocky start.  War mongering men and material all reduced to smoldering ruins.  The wicked in the USA, also gathered in upstate NY for their final demise – like has happened twice before.  Same principles and final swan song – just different actors and weapon systems.

Neat and tidy – and on a tidy schedule.  Just the way God usually does things.  Us arrogant humans are so predictable – and pitiful in our attitudes as we justify our behaviors at the expense of a belief in God.  Oh, the foolishness of man (can you tell I just got a nice “correcting” for my juvenile belief in a fairy-tale God?).  Sheesh – engineers are the worst for discrediting things they cannot see nor feel.  Sadly, there will be nothing but stuttering and back-pedaling as years of incorrect thinking are put into a tailspin as they realize they are still “there” – just not with their bodies, after death changes their state of being.  It will be a revelation.

  1. I have thoroughly enjoyed this blog series, but have to disagree with your thoughts on the two prophets being LDS General Authorities. These prophets will come from the House of Israel and be recognized as one of their faith, who God will raise up among them.

    1. The following verses in 2 Nephi 8 have always led me to believe that they would come from outside of the nation (political) of Israel.

18 And none to guide her among all the sons she hath brought forth; neither that taketh her by the hand, of all the sons she hath brought up.
19 These two sons are come unto thee, who shall be sorry for thee—thy desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword—and by whom shall I comfort thee?
20 Thy sons have fainted, save these two; they lie at the head of all the streets; as a wild bull in a net, they are full of the fury of the Lord, the rebuke of thy God.

    2. Spencer also mentions then potentially being members of the Quorum of the Twelve: "It was at this time that two prophets were called in Zion to go and alter the course of the Jewish people. I knew who they were at the time, but I have not retained that memory. I believe they were members of the Quorum of the Twelve who were then serving in Zion... They left with great courage, knowing their task was pivotal and that it would cost them their lives."

  2. The prophecy of the gospel being preached to every nation, kindred etc. has been fulfilled according to President Faust. Rev. 14:6 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people." In the April, 2006 Gen Conf, Pres. Faust quoted this scripture and said, "This prophecy has been fulfilled." It is in his talk entitled, "The Restoration of All Things."

  3. Makes me wonder how many other prophecies have been fulfilled without our being aware.

  4. "can you tell I just got a nice “correcting” for my juvenile belief in a fairy-tale God?"

It's a pity that science now proves God, eh?

  5. The problem with President Fausts' declaration is that this part comes AFTER the Lord stands on Mt Sion with his 144,000. See Rev 14:1.

I don't think that has happened quite yet.
