ROGER YOUNG - A SEQUENCE AND SOME THOUGHTS ON THINGS

I thought this was too good not to share:

Roger K Young:
(Roger K. Young is the author of the Dreams and Visions books.)
-One of the questions I always get asked is about the locations of the “Callout.” A few years ago, the First Presidency came to me after I first started publishing visions of members I’d come across, and asked me to not mention the specific places. They said it wasn’t a commandment, but a favor they would ask of me. And that’s why I stopped publishing the names of the places that people had seen we’d go to.
-Started off w/ the parable of the ten virgins
-When you die, you can’t argue the point. You can’t say “I need 5, 10, etc more minutes.” The time will be when the time comes!
-Has a friend whose sister sees spirits.
- When he meets people who can see spirits, he asks “Is it a blessing or curse to see spirits?”
-Most people say it’s a curse.
-He was there one time shortly after a man died, and the guy was yelling at his wife (who couldn’t see him), but the friend could, so he started yelling at her to help him come back.
-The elders had to be called to remove the spirit. That lady commented that she didn’t see him again until at his funeral, then no more after that.
-Point being, once your time is up, it’s up. This is why we need to be prepared.
-Christ tells the 5 virgins “You never really knew me, any more than I never really knew you.”
-We can always prepare 20 years in advance, but never 5 minutes after the fact.
-The flood of Noah started 120 years AFTER he was warned.
-It was God who closed the door
-Noah, being righteous, probably would’ve let the people in, but the time was spent, and God wouldn’t let him let anyone else in.
-Head of Security, Mt. Timp Temple told bro. Young “Everyone has so much money, they think that when stuff happens, they’ll just be able to go to the store.” This IS NOT preparing!
-Some people will come to the tent cities wearing only the clothes on their backs.
-Many of the people that come to the camps and live in the camps, will already be living the law of consecration.
-Story of Brigham Young living the Law of Consecration, prayed about it and God told him he’ll never go hungry if he shares with everyone.
-The sacrifice of Abraham was essentially the Law of Consecration.
-The spirit of Abraham is to share with everyone.
-Question about what to do about not having stuff...
-Pray to Heavenly Father and He will get it for you! I’ve seen it time and time again!
-What about scattered family members? Will they be in the camps with us?
-I don’t know.
-Same lady...her daughter/son in law sold their very expensive house in Texas and are now living in the boonies and are happy as ever, but aren’t “Awake”.
-He talks about knowing many people who’ve been prompted to prepare their lands and foods to support and feed many people
-Stake presidents, bishops, former sheriff.
-He has actually helped them.
-Q: will Obama stay in office despite who wins the election?
-he’s certainly prepared for it.
-“I’m running for county commissioner in Rigby Idaho bc it’s the last place in America where you can defend the Constitution.”
-The US govt is planning to take all the water rights in Utah and Idaho and has already taken a lot of ground, signed via Executive orders by Obama.
-Within the next 2 years, the Transgender bathroom issue WILL take over this nation....this happened this morning:
-The Obama administration issued an executive order mandating that all public schools allow transgender youth to use the restroom of their choice or face federal consequences.
-Also today, Texas is voting to see if they want to secede or not, partly as a result of this, and other issues.
-Q: about His book and The Tents
-The church has no official position on my books or the tent cities
-The church just updated their provident living site, and it talks about shelters and food storage
-Just recently talking to a friend in the church...we all know of the 3 fold mission of the church, but around the world, there’s been a 4th mission of the church arising: “Self reliance”
-The Church is the number one producer of countless foods in the US and the world.... there’s a reason for that!
-Last year, we studied Ezra Taft Benson.
-In it there was 3 of my favorite quotes. One of them is “Preparing today will be just as important for you as it was for Noah in his day!”
-Members of the church will RUE the day that they realize they didn’t prepare and follow the prophet.
-1 year ago in Women’s Conference, Julie Beck said that everyone should have a tent.
-The stuff I’ve been talking about for the last 20 years are now in the Newspapers!
-We are in tribulation right now!
-“Are we possibly going camping (ie, “the callout”)this year?”
-My opinion, and it’s not worth much... I don’t think so. But I hope so! I want to be with the saints. I want to have the temple in my life daily.
-Sometimes when I go to the temple, I’m just there. Other times, I have an amazing time!
-I can’t wait to live in an environment where everyone wants to be in the temple
-Concerning politics right now, things are bad. But voting for the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil.
-Many dreams have Obama being the last president....what are my thoughts?
-I don’t know. But we’re in unchartered territory. A lot of stuff is or has been checked off:
-Wars/rumors of wars. Check.
-Trouble in the pacific. Check.
-smallest size military ever. Check.
-My opinion is that there’s still a chance there could be a callout
-Obama has the power, if he wants to, to indict Hilary. He even joked about it.
-The reason I don’t think we’ll have a callout yet, is bc missionary work in Africa is exploding.
-Last year, half the convert baptisms were from Africa.
-Africa is still accepting the gospel, so God probably won’t call the missionaries back just yet “to preach his own sermons,” because there are still people accepting the gospel.
-Why are we still building so many temples? The Nauvoo experience!
-The saints were months away from getting kicked out, but they built the Temple to get their endowments. The church is trying to get as many people endowed and prepared for what is coming as is possible.
-We’re to the point where we can’t go north, south, east, or west. What is left? The tops of the mountains!
-Tangent....What if Romney had been elected? What if he’d turned conservative, and taken us back to the early days of the founding fathers? How long before the country as a whole would’ve thrown him out or impeach him? 2-3 months maybe?
-What do you do when you have a system as bad as ours? Do you fix it or restart it?
-Talked to Cleon Skousen before he passed away (Who wrote the books The Majesty of Gods’ Laws & The Cleansing of America)
-A few months before David.O. Mckay passed away...Pres. McKay told him that “one day the constitution will be destroyed. It’s not a perfect document, but could be.”
-Was given an assignment by Pres. Mckay to write a book about how the Constitution could be perfect....took Skousen about 3 years.
-The Constitution was written from the Bible, but there had to be a few compromises, such as enacting things on the state level, etc...which never happened.
-A few months later, Ezra Taft Benson told him to publish his findings, after sitting on the manuscript for awhile.
- The Cleansing of America is what came about as a result.
-Also, an important book to read by Skousen is The Naked Communist.
-Q: Rev 18:4... the word “Callout” is specifically mentioned in there. There will be a physical and spiritual call out.
-Receive a spiritual call out from Babylon
-Receive a physical call out to avoid the Plagues.
-We need to have an appreciation for the Constitution.
-If we want “Socialism,” God will give it to us....just read the scriptures.
-Today, we have people saying “We want no God and we want Socialism.”
-We need to be careful, because God will give the people what they want.
-A lot of people last year were looking for the “Big Stone” drop bc of the Shemitah year, but if you read the scriptures, it was always the year after.
-Last year, however, the Star of Bethlehem appeared for 3 days, just 3 days after America passed Gay marriage. [These are CJ’s words...I saw it myself and it was bright!! It looked more like a new planet had appeared, as opposed to a new star, but it was absolutely beautiful!]
-Friends w/ Julie Rowe... “I just talked to her a few days ago. I wish you could hear some of the stuff we talk about and that she tells me.”
-In the year of the callout, there will be 3 big earthquakes in Utah...the first in late spring/ early summer (happens about 30-60 days before the callout) a 6.0
-3-4 months later, a size 7, happens.
-About a few weeks later, a HUGE earthquake will take place, and that’s the big one!! 9.5
-When I was a missionary in the MTC I saw in vision, for about 10 seconds, of that actual earthquake.
-I was one of the first missionaries called to re-open Santiago Chile. Walking outside, I saw nothing but rubble, piles of rubble, columns of smoke, looking at the BYU campus. I was looking out of the MTC towards the BYU campus and the mountains and I saw smoke and rubble everywhere. The Spirit told me “this is what it’s gonna be like.” I was so shocked that I said “No, this could never happen.” And as soon as I started arguing w/ the Spirit, the vision ended.
-That was 40 years ago!
Q: How did I start collecting visions...was it your vision that was the catalyst?
-no, I’m a music major. Someone in conference spoke about not just reading the scriptures, but studying them, topically.
-The topic that me and my neighbors chose was the last days. Started in 1989
-I started using Word Perfect and started writing the sequences down to see if we could follow things as they happened.
-This study took a year.
(-Came across by a book by Alvin R. Dyer... The Refiners Fire)
-Contained many prophecies by the prophets about the last days.
-I started typing up all the prophecies and keeping them in topical and sequential form.
-10 tribes
-War of Armageddon
-I used The Coming of the Lord as a sort of template by Gerald N. Lund
-George Q Cannon said that a lot of the stuff we read about in the scriptures are more literal than we realize. More literal and less figurative.
-The armies in the Book of Revelation is an actual army.
-[My own question to him AFTER his presentation, but belongs in this spot. Last year, at your presentation at UVU, you spoke of Deseret Storm as being one of the “Wo’s” pronounced in the Book of Revelation. Which one was it?
-The First One. We’re still waiting for the 13 month war.
-In sharing his notes, more and more people came to him asking for his them.
-A book publisher came to him wanting his stuff and then it took off from there.
-Q: When do you think the 3 earthquakes will be?
-Julie Rowe thinks it’s probably this year, and the first one being any day now. I hope she’s right.
-I don’t have any sense of time. I helped Sarah Menet write her book and when she was on the other side, she had no sense of time, either. In her book, she simply discusses what she saw an in what order. ***
Remember, we can always prepare ahead of time, but there’s no such thing as “late preparation.”
***CJ’s Notes!!!! Sarah Menet had her NDE in 1979 and her book There Is No Death, was first published in 2002. It is primarily about her NDE, except chapter 4 concerning events she saw concerning the last days. On the publishing page (and I only just now noticed this, on Sunday May 15, 2016) at the bottom, the publisher recommends one of Roger K. Young’s books The Sequence of Events Leading to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

  1. "1 year ago in Women’s Conference, Julie Beck said that everyone should have a tent."

Julie Beck was released in 2012, last spoke in Conference in April 2012, and didn't mention tents in any of her last four addresses.

    1. After making the previous comment I searched general conferences (including women's conferences) from April 2011 to April 2016 and did not find a reference to everybody having a tent.

Furthermore, I poked around at the Provident Living website and could not find a reference to tents or shelters there.

  2. Women's Conference is a conference held at BYU. It is not the General Women's Meeting we have before General Conference.

    1. Thank you for that additional information. After seeing your post I went to the BYU website where I found Sister Beck has not spoken since 2011. The word "tent" does not appear in the transcript of any of her four addresses recorded at the BYU Women's Conference website. Nor does "tent" appear in any of the seven addresses transcribed from the 2015 conference at: http://womensconference.ce.byu.edu/transcripts

Since the above page only says it has transcripts of "selected talks," I searched and eventually found a program for the 2015 Women's Conference at: https://issuu.com/womensconference.byu.edu/docs/wc2015program

Of the 194 speakers listed, Julie B Beck is not included. And even if Sister Beck had claimed, at some conference, that everybody should have a tent she is no longer a general officer of the church so she doesn't have authority to express more than an opinion.

  3. Was wondering, do you have a source for this? Like where the interview took place and when, etc? Just curious. I appreciate the post, was hoping for more background info. Thanks!!

  4. There are also some claims of quotes that are in conflict from what JR said in the radio interview. But like the apocrypha, with the spirit there are things that can be gleaned from this.

  5. Here is the Relief Society training video where Sister Beck recommends that church members get a tent.

    http://www.lds.org/service/serving-in-the-church/relief-society/leader-resources/welfare-duties?lang=eng

The title of the page is Welfare Duties. About half way down the page click on "Training Video: Self Reliance". The comments are about half way through the segment (on mine it was at the 3:39 min time mark).
Basically she was talking about preparedness to Relief Society Leaders in the Tabernacle and then said:

    Self Reliance
Sister Julie B. Beck Relief Society Training March 2010.
"Now we’re living in some tough times. I’ll just walk you through a couple of scriptures. This is in Matthew 24 where Jesus was talking about our day. He said “Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye not be troubled. For all these things must come to pass and the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diver’s places. And these are the beginning of sorrows.” We’re in this day. We have pestilences and troubles and trials all around us. But we cannot despair.

I have a sense and a feeling as we have watched some of these disasters in the world that this is a time for us to learn and prepare from these experiences. Sister Thompson gave a testimony of that. And the preparation happens in our own homes. There are not enough tents in the world to furnish every person with a tent unless the members of the church have a tent in their own homes; a simple thing like that. And then the store house is pressed down, heaped over and running over in our own homes."

    1. This should be the link to her talk. I couldn't find the link described above, but I had another reference to this talk.

  6. I do not intend to offend anybody but I have a sincere question. If these people (RKY,JR,Spencer, etc.) truly received visions from the Lord, why don't they share them freely? (not in books to be sold, even if they are not expensive). Since when those with a prophetic voice (?!) sell their prophecies for money? Can't they just put them online, for free, in a pdf format? They claim the Lord showed them visions - I do not want to (and I can’t) deny that. The Lord is their judge. But it seems odd how things work out. To me, this is not far away from those "priests" in the BoM that were asking people to "sponsor" them instead of working with their own hands. I do not intend to debate this but if somebody has a reasonable explanation for their actions, share that with me please.

    1. I believe you can glean much of what is in their books from online discussions/quotes. However, just like reading the scriptures, you might miss the opportunity to have the spirit speak to you when you read only bits and pieces.

I personally wanted my own hard copy so that I could mark, add tidbits/references, and compare commonalities. My understanding (after searching for an answer to the same question) is that the books are sold nearly at cost.

  7. This is just a guess but perhaps these brothers and sisters publish books for the same reason the brethren publish books rather than just put pdf's online - the message is much more widespread if it is put in a book form because it goes through the normal channels of marketing. Plus books are the tradition. There are many who would never run into a pdf. I'm sure someone will have another opinion but that is one possibility. In a Zion society perhaps books can be given away but currently it costs $$ to write them (time away from supporting your family), produce them (a publisher is also trying to feed his/her family) and distribute them. Many who publish books on these subjects also give freely of their time and resources to speak, do interviews or they also put info online. They seem willing to get the message out in any way shape or form. Perhaps that could also be seen as self serving but the spirit of what they are about does not seem to support that idea and they are also putting up with a great deal of criticism and even persecution which would hardly seem worth it for the amount they earn. Personally I am very grateful for Visions of Glory in particular. Spencer has a very humble spirit and his book has definitely encouraged me to be a greater disciple of Jesus Christ and to love my fellow brothers and sisters. Much of life consists of testing what comes your way for truth and often that takes time. Then we hold fast to that which proves to be true. Thanks for your sincere question. Sincere questions are always welcome.

  8. I agree (in part) with what you wrote - it is their time, marketing, tradition, etc. At the same time I believe that we talk about two different types of materials. On one side we can have books from the brethren (and not only) on faith, repentance, courage, etc. On the other side we have claims of visions on imminent future - with specific places, specific events, etc. This is closer to a revelation. And revelations should not be "marketed" for money in my humble opinion. It should be more of a service. And in the Church, the service is to be done free of charge. I agree that Spencer is a humble person. So, I still have to reconcile all this.
