I get a good chuckle or belly laugh as my daughter likes to point out, my bull full of jelly.  I think the storekeeper's last name was Snells - and that girl always astounded me for her rudeness when I watched LHOTP as a kid.  In a ranching/farming community, the bankers and the storekeepers are usually the despised (relatively speaking), unless they run their own spreads on the side.  The mechanical things (payment schedules) meet the unpredictable (weather patterns and crop failure cycles) and it is rarely a harmonious relationship:
