Folks, I know a lot of people who are into energy healing (I am talking members of the Church) - and I get a little freaked out when doing a little research on how to pick the New Age BS out that is all around us, including a high priest of a coven (wears top hat, face painted, black clothes, etc) and the typical "priestess" who wears the black pointy hat with the brim.

Apparently, the web master of this place is also in their "priesthood" is into energy healing. The more I see, the more I have to say this stuff should be avoided at all costs......
If you are a good LDS lady into this - please consider that you might be deceived, or in the process of being deceived about energy healing. Many that I have bumped into talk of being buffeted by the adversary. Just a hint here - you might be inviting that kind of thing into your life precisely because you are simply playing with fire. When it comes to that kind of thing, I usually run the other way - simply because, like tromping thru cow poop in boots, once in it, you may never fully get the stink off your boots and will remain contaminated.

I still need to find a definitive statement of the Brethren coming out against energy healing. I swear I remember something about it when it boiled over years ago. I realize I am throwing many people under the bus with this article - but I think people can be gullible and need to be woken to the awful state of their situation. Many (really good people) do not even realize where they are at - and need the shock factor to wake themselves up from their stupor.

ReplyDeleteThere is no limit to spiritual gifts. We learn from the scriptures “there are many”. Because we cannot understand some of those gifts, it’s not wise to condemn them. With the level of healing the earth must go through to prepare for the Savior, it is wisdom in the Lord to prepare a righteous people to be a part of that great healing work. For some – it truly is their mission. Here’s the scripture the Lord gave me yesterday about the knowledge He has been giving me D&C 19:21-24
I know some really great people who are into Energy Healing ( The Emotion Code and Body Code) They have a sincere desire to help people. I've noticed lately they've added " Christ Centered" before the words Energy Healing.. Christ centered healing is done through prayer, fasting, scripture study, faith, patience, endurance.. not someone asking you a bunch of questions, muscle testing for the answers and using a magnet over your body, then charging you money. ( Yes, I do realize not all " Christ Centered Energy Healers" charge money, but some do) In my opinion it's Satans counterfeit to the Priesthood and to the order in which you are actually healed through Christ and the atonement.

What are LDS members accomplishing with body electronics that cannot be accomplished by using the priesthood authority that we have been given? It is very very possible that they are doing great things that are in line with the spirit.... but there are no checks and balances outside of blessing and healing with the proper authority. One bad day, one slip up... by those operating outside of the authority and safety we have been blessed with, and that person will be quietly getting lead by another source.... and not even know it.

ReplyDelete"Gramps" says you won't find a definitive statement from General Authorities on Energy Healing BUT if you did, it would say something to the effect that you have an internal compass in the Holy Ghost who warns with an uncomfortable feeling. And the statement from Joseph Smith, Jr., the Prophet, when he said "I teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves." UNQUOTE
A reader wrote in to "Ask Gramps" about an LDS energy healing friend and how she attended sessions and came away feeling uncomfortable. Her friend told her it doesn't replace the Priesthood but is just a "different" form of healing.

This energy healing thing from Julie Rowe left me uncomfortable when she mentioned it in her book and now it's evolved into something bigger. I was hammered by a friend who condemned me for being a "know it all" for my stance against it. AGAIN, that it's that uncomfortable feeling that something just isn't quite right.
This stuff is almost a like a new wave of people setting themselves apart and not being called by proper authority to do so but becoming a law unto themselves and that's VERY dangerous ground to be on in God's presence.
It's the kind of thing you just can't quite put a finger on but KNOW isn't right. That's how Satan deceives. God is ALL TRUTH ALL THE TIME. Satan will tell a hundred truths to get you to believe one lie.
