HOW TO CHARGE A BATTERY IN TROUBLED TIMES

I have a hodge-podge of solar panels and gadgets to charge batteries.  One of them which I just invested in is something that can charge off a modified swamp cooler lowered into a stream or driven direct off a radiator cooling fan in the wind as a windmill:

The problem with charging your own batteries to invert for 120VAC power or using 12VDC LEDs (the best option), is getting all of your inputs to work together to accomplish your goal.  Here is a charge controller that is pretty cheap and seems to have alot of features that would come in handy:

That manual is the perfect "how-to" to get things properly hooked up so you don't fry your valuable components.  I have printed out a few copies and put them in a zip-loc for later use when things are not working as they are now.

I will try and post more information as it comes along.  This is my pet topic - if you have a source of power when things are difficult, you will be popular indeed.....  It becomes a good barter item.
