Folks, right there, you have the three major sins wrapped up into a succinct string of events. Cain was the prototype of this. He lusted after what Abel had. Not only did this include the fruits of his labors (something for nothing), but it purportedly included Abel's wife, which he took as his own polygamist wife after the killing (according to Jewish tradition). He struck a deal with the devil and sealed his fate for the eternities; a son of Perdition who, will sit rule over Satan only because he went to the next step and obtained a body, which Lucifer will never have. This follows the pattern. Adultery, murder, deny the HG.
It is my opinion - and it may be premature - that Chad Daybell followed this pattern. He developed an emotional relationship with Lori Vallow which eventually led to a sexual relationship. From there, Chad's wife was in the way (and the Vallow kids, as well), so they were dispatched with the lot of them, and likely the brother of Lori who did the actual killing and might have talked. The only question I have, is whether the brother was killed by Lori or Chad, or if others were involved if Lori and Chad were celebrating their "love" in Hawaii.....
The last step (not sure how much Chad knew) in the fall, was denying the HG. Thus the devil carefully cheats your soul and leads you down to hell. This was a classic takedown of one "something for nothing", leading to the next egregious something for nothing (promise of great sex, life insurance monies, relief from current struggles, etc). It can happen to anyone. The Falwell case is another one where things went sideways with a bored middle-aged housewife. It stopped short of murder - but I am sure that was probably on the table in order to cover for the first indiscretions. One lie covering another. Getting something for nothing and moving on in more serious things until you arrive at the ultimate satanic glue trap; complete selling out of the soul to one who has no intention or ability to deliver on any real promises. It is all illusion - and the very reason I despise Vegas (and generally, those who love the fakeness of it). All illusion with the promise of riches; and so many broken dreams. All a scam and a blight on the face of North America.
Same thing with any of these traps, including fornication, adultery, pornography, abortion, gambling, drugs and alcohol. All things designed to deliver something - but it all ends up empty, with the partaker likely not being able to self-extricate from the quandary they are in. I cannot wrap my head around anyone selling the idea that any of the above is good. It delivers only misery to those who engage in it. It is hard for fallen man (and especially the young and impressionable) to resist this. Sex, like food, is a primal urge and part of our telestial existence. As with food addictions, we have to temper and tame these impulses, or become a slave to them. Same with alcohol and many other addictive things
One of my favorite quotes by Joseph Smith is that it is the design of our existence to "obtain a body and then present it pure before our Father". I will throw in there "pure and unencumbered". This encapsulates all we are in the process of doing here in this orb. To many, the reason for our existence is baffling - but this is it in a nutshell. This pure presentation is our gift to God. Our work, using the tools of the Atonement, so to speak. We truly never own this work - precisely because it is not possible to do that work without the gift of the Atonement that we never could have obtained of ourselves only - but, using the tools Father provided for us, and putting our effort into the endeavor of overcoming, this is the only thing we can offer up to God. This and a broken heart and contrite spirit.
I know a woman who just moved to Cardston. She is in her late 70's. Her countenance is radiant. She is filled with light. She has fulfilled this maxim perfectly. She is ready to present herself to Father in a state that is acceptable of Him. I hope to get there one day. Time is short and of the essence, so I am on a repentance bent as of late. I have much ground to cover.

ReplyDeleteThere is so much more to this story and these people are nuts. Chad Daybell, like Julie Rowe claims he is a Prophet of the Church of The Firstborn. Eric Smith and Julie Rowe claim that Chad approached many women about being his wife and that he had been inappropriate at these seminars, book signings, camps. Julie Rowe said that she was sexually assaulted by Chad in Fall of 2018, never told anyone and defended him into 2020 when it was released that the children were dead.
Alex's wife was trying to create Earthquakes in Vegas, which is why Julie Rowe kept saying a EQ was imminent. People surrounding her have been trying to create EQ's. This stuff is crazy.

Faced with the possibility of a maximum 20-year prison sentence if he had been found guilty of felony battery for allegedly forcing himself on a woman in his law office conference room last year, an Idaho attorney has taken a mid-trial plea to misdemeanor battery.
John Prior, 50, will now face a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine when he is sentenced in November in the Canyon County case, according to the Idaho Statesman and KTVB.
Prior was indicted by a grand jury for felony battery with intent to commit rape after being accused of attacking a 20-year-old woman who said she came to his Nampa office seeking a job and advice on a child-custody case, the Statesman reports. Before the trial concluded Friday with Prior’s plea, his lawyer, Scott Fouser, told the jury during opening statements that Prior paid the woman, who was in dire straits financially, for sex. She then lied about the incident to her boyfriend, her family and police, Fouser said.
However, the woman testified before Prior took his plea that she refused when he offered her a job and help with the custody case in exchange for having sex with him, the Associated Press reported earlier.
The state attorney general’s office prosecuted the case.
