I have been asked the question, "Why even care about this stuff??". Just sit back and enjoy life.
To put it similar to how Joseph stated it, "Knowing the calamities that shall come upon all nations, shall I not declare the distressing report?". That was as close as I can remember it.
So yeah, the Savior said that those who will qualify for His kingdom will be watching and waiting for His return with anticipation and joy. I dare say that those who just want to get back to "business as usual" (Sunday football games, social mormonism, lying cheating and all that good stuff....), will not make it as they will be told to "get thee hence, ye that never knew me".
So, there is that....
Here is a great quote:
It is for this generation to prepare the way for the Second Coming of the Lord. Modern Saints must obey the principles of the gospel and know the signs of the times, so that they may endure the trials and difficulties of this dispensation, recognize the signs of His coming, and be prepared to receive Him as His own people when He comes. The Doctrine and Covenants clarifies prophecies of the past concerning the last days, and it gives many additional prophecies by which the Saints can recognize the time of the Lord’s coming, that it might not “overtake [them] as a thief” (1 Thessalonians 5:4). It not only teaches how to recognize the imminence of the Lord’s coming, but it also makes very clear what one must do to be prepared to receive the Lord when He comes. ~ The Last Days

Silence in the face of such calamity is sin - Ezra Taft Benson
ReplyDeleteIraq, I really enjoy your blog. I've been following it since its early days and I rarely ever comment, even though I don't always agree with what you say. But I need to push back here.
ReplyDeletePlease don't issue judgements and supposition on who will and won't "make it" into the Savior's kingdom. I've been seeing this a lot from you lately and I just can't remain silent any more. You're frankly not qualified to judge anybody in the context of eternal life. None of us are, save Jesus only. Your understanding of the facts and realities of those whose lives are different than yours is woefully inadequate, and you're just as ragged a sinner compared to the perfection of Christ as anybody else. So leave the it in the hands of God. He doesn't need any help or input to judge us eternally. Our job is to love, admonish, admonish with love, repent, love some more, repent some more, and keep on loving and enduring and repenting. (But of course, you already know this from our conversations.)
I really respect you, Iraq, and I enjoy our association. Keep up the good work and hang in there.
I think we have many years before the call out - this feels more like a "conditioning" phase.
ReplyDeleteGet ready for social distancing, fewer imports/exports, face masks, fewer get togethers, limiting what and when you can purchase....
Conditioning us to behave for more control.
My feeling is that this is the beginning of sorrows. Once the crossings of 2017 and 2024 solar eclipses are complete we will see significant events that you could describe as tribulation.. interestingly this Coronavirus situation is bang in the middle of said two solar eclipses (3.5 years in) and Corona means the ring of light seen when the sun is eclipsed by the moon. I consider this as a sign and a warning and it's interesting that it coincides with recent changes in the church preparing us for future challenges. Buckle up guys it's going to be a bumpy ride
