THE LOSS OF PRIVILEGE AS MODERN CHILDREN OF ISRAEL

I had a most revealing conversation the other night after my Tuesday night session in the temple.  I go nearly every Tuesday night and was prompted to memorize the endowment about a year ago.  Prior to the end of December, I just about had it down word for word.

I kind of chuckle in that I thought the prompting came because of the need to perform the ordinance outside the temple in a "tabernacle in the wilderness" situation, which is still highly likely in our near future.  In this case, it was so that I could clearly remember what we had lost/gained.

I have a good online friend (who is highly private so I likely will never meet her) who is a doctor of medicine and a prepper.  She is also an anti-feminist - in that she understands perfectly her role as a woman - as God has defined it.  She understands and perfectly accepts God's unique gift of man to woman and the unique role and gift of the role of woman to man; the two completing and perfecting the other when they are not sullied and corrupted by the view of fallen man/woman.

She texted me when she was finally able to get through a session so that we could talk.  We spent several hours on the phone as she gently corrected me on my views.  I do not think I will betray her confidences when I say the following that lit me up in understanding: that I had two days to mull over while I was away on a business trip with little chance to be distracted by life in the fast lane.

Moses did not change anything when he came down the mountain and found his people in sin.  He only came down to realize his people had fallen into gross darkness and apostasy and then re-ascended to go back for a lesser law that would take the people to the goal of the original higher law (which those in Jerusalem ultimately rejected later....) and they then had to get schooled and come back for the 3rd time charm event (coming to a world stage near you here shortly....).

Moses was not a fallen prophet for having done so.  The people were the fallen ones.  He just reacted to their thick-headedness and indolence.  We are on the same path.  I had an honest comment that things have been pulled away from us in the form of shorter endowments for years.  It started out as a six hour affair that covered all three degrees of each of the kingdoms until we have nothing in comparison today.

See, there are two kinds of people in the Church and there always have been.  The ones who gritch and moan about things and accuse the Prophet of being old fashioned (just as those who worshipped the golden calf I am sure accused Moses of not being "cosmopolitan or progressive enough" like those ultra-cool Egyptians were (whose cool civilization had just been trashed by a Just God).  Those progressives in our Church today have taken exception with the higher Law of Celestial Marriage back in 1890, they have taken pot shots at the Patriarchal Order in all its forms including it's manifestations in our Endowment and probably the worst thing, they have coveted and sought after the rights to the Priesthood, just as Ham did of Noah.  And we know where that led.....

Oh ye fools and hypocrites who, after excluding yourselves from all the promised blessings that you could have had - you blame and accuse the Lord's anointed of having fallen for either caving into the pressures of modern babylon when it never was at the Prophet's feet - but at your own, after you have trampled in the mud under foot, sacred and holy principles that you do not understand because you do not receive personal revelation because you do not do the least thing to qualify for it.

I have no problem with those who mourn change (when the lesser thing is given in exchange for the higher thing and a mess of pottage).  I take exception when those who are mourning, or laying wait to deceive take exception and blame the Lord's anointed.

We do not blame those in the Book of Mormon who finally consented to the will of the people to allow a king, which ultimately led to their demise, but we lay blame at the feet of the lazy and entitled people who demanded the king to rule over them to attempt to remove any guilt for their collective lack of accountability (if anything goes wrong, blame the king since he has ultimate authority).  We have the same thing today in the form of socialism/marxism/communism complete with dictators and benevolent leaders for life.  The coddled people just accept everything they do and say and the "king" is able to corrupt the system further and become enriched as the system is skimmed (I just found out that Putin has tens of billions of dollars and of course the Obamas and Clintons are just a tad more wealthy than they were when they embarked on their "political" careers (or crime sprees, as the case would be).

So, the things we are left with (or without), are just a reflection back on us.  This is the conclusion that I came to a few days ago, thanks to my doctor buddy.  She relies largely on revelation for everything she has and has been spot on when she has given me counsel.  She also entertains angels, as we thankfully, are still taught in the endowment to do.  I have not the horsepower to do so, yet - but I try and spend time with those who do and to learn from them.  The biggest key to that is to repent mightily.

Folks - if you doubt what I have just said above - but believe what Spencer has to say in Visions of Glory, you are now caught in a dichotomy.  Why WILL the Lord take up to 90% of us?  Why will He destroy the SL valley?  If that will happen in Spencer's natural lifetime, then what have we done as a people to merit those hardships collectively?  If we are that bad, that we merit destruction and it starts in our house first, do we merit all of the blessings of the House of the Lord?  Is it symbolic that the SL Temple is being shut down for 3 or 3.5 years when it was recently (in the past several decades) already upgraded?  I understood that those upgrades would last for another 50 to 100 years.

These are all questions we have to ask ourselves......  And please do not lay any blame at the feet of our leaders.  Just as with our national leaders, they just reflect back on us a picture of ourselves whoring after our golden calves.....
