I have taken a much-deserved vacation with my family to visit family in Eastern Washington and then for a few days camping and enjoying Silverwood Resort with my own family. It has been wonderful. If you want a real family experience without the lines of Disneyland, Silverwood is a great value and a good time was had by all. The six man water slide tube was our favorite - my wife would almost get tossed every time and just seeing the sheer terror on her face was worth the hike to the top of the hill each time. Priceless. The roller coasters are also pretty good and the food cheap and of good quality. It cannot be beat for value.
While on this relaxation, my goal was to finish the book, A Treasury of EJ Wood. It is over 700 pages long. I found it in a Cardston bookstore as a second hand. I am hoping to glean some of the things from President Wood's life. His life was one filled with service - he simply loved people. He led these people through so much hardship in two world wars and the Great Depression. It is amazing how strong of a leader he was. He had the gift of prophecy in spades and was loved by thousands. I would be happy to have the affection of dozens or hundreds in my insignificant lifetime.
His prophecies include some still to come about. Old Chief will crumble in the Great EQ (Matthew 24, I believe) and it will signal to the Cree (of the Great Lakes tribes that are the remnant of Lehi), that they are to gather at Waterton Lakes, west of Cardtson.
Here is a little gem from page 541 of the book:
"A prophetic outlook was given the people just a few years ago in one of the Church conferences of the area by one of the present Apostles of the Church. He promised them that while they were suffering from depreciating values at the present time (during the Depression), they would see the day when there would be actual scarcity in the land, when the Ten Tribes would come out of the north country to board at their tables." The above was written in a book called Ethnic Groups in Western Canada, pages 264-65 and quoted in the addendum to EJ Wood's book.
I just barely discovered this book recently, 'Solving the Prophet Puzzle' by One Who is Watching.
ReplyDeleteThe claims are intriguing to say the least. Such as the true church fled back into the wilderness in 1834, Joseph Smith will return to fulfill his final mission because his first mission was solely to "lay the foundation" and he is the servant spoken of by Isaiah, and much more that breaks the glass ceiling.
The book is big and thick and scriptures are used out the wazoo to paint a whole new picture and back up years of church history and Joseph Smith's 14 year ministry research. The author comes from a long line of church members and has served in higher up callings.
It comes down to this, either the author's claims are true or not which can only be discerned by the Spirit of God so compelling is the material.
If true....wow! Because Spencer in Visions of Glory speaks of Joseph Smith being quite alive and well and involved in last days events in the future yet to unfold.
