FDR WAS NO FRIEND OF THE CHURCH LEADERS IN THE 1930's AND 1940's

Wow - this is pretty strong stuff!  I guess President Benson was not the only one who was so outspoken against the ills of communism and communism lite (socialism):

When FDR announced the New Deal, President Heber J. Grant, J. Reuben Clark Jr., David O. McKay and other Church leaders became outspoken critics of what they felt was socialism.

12 April 1945: Roosevelt dies in office. Elder Joseph Fielding Smith writes, “there are some of us who have felt that it is really an act of providence.” President J. Reuben Clark Jr. quips, “The Lord gave the people of the United States four elections in order to get rid of him, that they failed to do so in these four elections, so He held an election of His own and cast one vote, and then took him away.”

  1. I remember reading that FDR took Utah in each election by a landslide.
Proof that Mormons have no clue what the Constitution is supposed to represent.
A sad sack case that leaves me wondering; where in the hell are the Elders of Israel who are supposed to preserve the Constitution. Few ever are willing to accept that the structure of our government today is so perverted and twisted over the past two centuries that those ideals, concepts barely exist.
